South Carolina racial justice activists said they would postpone future demonstrations or move them online after at least 13 people who took part in previous protests tested positive for the coronavirus.

As the number of cases across the country continued to climb ominously Monday, organizers of “I Can’t Breathe” protests in South Carolina urged participants to get tested for the virus.

In a video posted Sunday on Facebook, organizer Lawrence Nathaniel said demonstrators who marched in Columbia, S.C., between May 30 and June 17 had tested positive. He said four organizers were confirmed infected, along with three photographers and six protesters.

“We need to do our part,” he said. “Go get tested. Don’t come to a protest until you get tested, okay?”

I have supported the peaceful protests - yes aware that a number of which would be infected - they risked that to make a statement - these protests have been coming for sometime, well it has arrived.

Protesting in the midst of a pandemic demonstrates that Americans want change, real changes, not the lip service they have seen

Floyd's death was 1 small step from an execution by Police

The Officers seemed fairly casual about this- to ffn casual.

It took that to start a possible awakening in the US to problems that have been documented for year after year
 
These protests should have been stomped out day one. This is going to cost this country billions. I think these people need to pay dearly for the spikes in Coronavirus. They had to pick now to protest? They had plenty of other opportunities before doing it in a pandemic. BLM needs to be wiped out and held accountable.
