Trump rally gives Fox News largest Saturday night audience in its history. Brian Ford, Fox News. 7 hours ago (at time of posting in Forum on 06/22/20).

A whopping 7.7 million total viewers tuned into Fox News from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. EDT during Trump’s remarks, making it the most watched Saturday in the network’s history during that time period, according to early Nielsen data...

...“President Trump’s rally in Tulsa attracted over 4 million unique viewers across all of the campaign’s digital media channels. The live-streamed pre-rally shows drew an audience of more than 2.5 million unique viewers by themselves,” Trump 2020 communications director Tim Murtaugh said in a statement.

Well, nearly 13 million viewers on Fox and other digital media channels.

I think I pointed this possibility out in another thread mocking Trump's "low turnout" at the physical rally location.

I'd say this argues for Trump's support being greater than touted in negative reports of the actual rally turnout.

How this translates in November 2020?

Time will tell. :coffeepap:

I'd like to see Uncle Joe top that. But he would have to come out of his basement first.

I have absolutely zero intentions of voting for him a second time, but I did have the rally on while doing things out in my yard. I'd say I saw about 1/4 of it and then clips after the fact. And the reason I had it on was because a buddy of mine (also no longer a Trump supporter) called me laughing about the turnout being so massive they were tearing down the overflow stage before the rally even started. Taking viewership into account is much like suggesting there will be 1 million people because that's how many tickets were requested.

Let's review:

- Some teenagers apparently play Team Trump for morons by requesting tickets they had no intention of using;
- Trump talks up how awesome he is in light of the numbers;
- Trump's rally attendance is a major womp womp
- Team Trump tries to rerun the inauguration debacle defense, claiming that it isn't actual attendance like they first tried to play up that counts, but viewing figures
- Those figures are apparently total viewership, not the increase above average for those times
- Those figures easily include people who tune in out of disgust/worry, or to mock; they also include many who intended to vote for Trump anyway and we know his core base is largely intact already
- Captain Adverse comes here to slavishly push the viewing figure narrative, falsely claiming that he's the one who thought it up when it was Team Trump's first go-to defense.

Also, his link:

I'm not bothering reconstructing his sycophancy, but at a glance it looks like he added up every figure thrown out, irrespective of time, as a viewing figure, and not the number of people who actually tuned in specifically during his speech (nevermind that it makes no sense to count people who tune in at those times anyway). Something like that.

How it translates is that in November 2020, you will be saying whatever the Trump campaign will be saying. A key component of what the Trump campaign will be saying is that huge amounts of mail-in ballots should not be counted.

Just all that many more people who got to see Trump in a half empty stadium.

1 thing is clear, not many Trump supporters are buying into his mantra about C19 and stayed home - why- because even they know BOB is FOS

It's like a train wreck you can't take your eyes off of. My favourite moment- "There's very bad people outside, doing very bad things!" He either has an elementary school vocabulary, thinks his audience have elementary school vocabularies, or both. My money's on both.

Herman's Hermits Reunion concert drew more fans than Donald in that arena.

He's got the linguistic talents of a third grader whose parents think lead paint chips are a food group.

This thread tells us what’s important to Trump and his supporters — from the beginning — with the inauguration size. Nothing on foreign and domestic policy. No sane ‘leadership’ on and discussion of our weighty issues.

All PT Barnum, Carnival Barking, National Enquirer Trump. Imho, the only way to safety at this point would be to have a few Eisenhower’s and a Marshall-type Plan. This means we need the Joint Chiefs to act, ASAP.

On the contrary, they were there.

I accidentally deleted my original tweet about the Trump Rally. Instead of reposting...I decided to ask my husband to tell the story in his own words because of all the questions people were asking me. This is from my husband who tried to attend the Trump Rally with our son:

You might think that, but if you count the average number of comments per hour on articles about the rally . . .

... and then multiply them by the inauguration crowd.... I think it's pretty close to the number of people killed in the Bowling Green Massacre.

On the contrary, they were there.

Face it: your God made a womp-womp, and even that you feel compelled to defend. The same guy who has presently shifted his own defenses to "look mommy, I can drink water with one hand like a big boy!" and "that ramp was my personal Vietnam!"

Pathetic.

With the theme of BLM it was nice of the Trump team to round up the only 4 Black supporters at the rally and give them the honor of sitting behind Trump.

And if all tRUMPers are afraid to go out and he won't allow absentee mail in voting. It won't go well.

Oh yeah in the thousands- about 6.2 on the Richter scale for Trumps disastrous turnout for a highly touted event for the ages.

You are burning thru the word wool.

Exactly. Is there an assumption that those watching are Trump voters to be?

We all watched in my family, and the only Trump voter from 2016 has changed her mind, so none of us are voting Trump. My family members elsewhere also watched to see what would happen with all the drama involving the protests & Trump's threats to them. Only one former Trump member there, and she claims she's not voting at all this election.

So, besides a high media draw, I'm not sure what assumptions can be drawn.
