Atlanta police officer fired after fatally shooting black man Rayshard Brooks [W:793]

Re: Atlanta police officer fired after fatally shooting black man Rayshard Brooks

It's the cops (some) that are breaking the public trust regarding living in a civil society by killing people, by using excessive force unnecessarily.

The comparison of criminal violence to police violence is like comparing lightning to a lightning bug.

Re: Atlanta police officer fired after fatally shooting black man Rayshard Brooks

?? Nothing like trying to justify recent killings like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. by blaming them and their 'behavior'..completely wrong and both can be almost 100% fixed by ending choke holds and no-knock warrants...those are major changes. And without video? Cases like Brooks and Floyd would be wholly denied and probably never even acknowledged.

Responses to the Floyd, Brooks and Taylor cases require no wholesale changes.

There's no "We shall see" when it comes to for whom the police work. They work for us.

Yes. Which is why there will be trials. That is how we exercise our authority.

People choke on food. Shoot anyone with a hotdog!

Only if they are the ones who killed the pig.

Re: Atlanta police officer fired after fatally shooting black man Rayshard Brooks

Brooks’ assumption that the officers were going to injure or kill him because he was black is the very thing that got him killed.

Or the fact that he was on parole and didn't want to go back to jail. Played nice with the officers until they falsely felt he was cooperating and was not a threat, then escalated things when they went to cuff him. Very possible.

LOL.....BS!

Passed out drunk behind the wheel.

Parole violation!

He knew what he was doing, and he rolled the dice.

That's only one way. There are others such as changing laws, changing police training, etc.

Re: Atlanta police officer fired after fatally shooting black man Rayshard Brooks

I REFUSE!!!

The officer was the first to deploy the taser. If the taser is deadly force, then what was the officers justification to use deadly force when he deployed the taser?
LOL

Exactly.

This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa

You're still not making sense.

How convenient for you. We told you that your waffling and back and forth were merely smoke and mirrors because your posts didnt line up coherently.

Thank you! There we have it! And your comment is so wrong it's laughable. It's the very reason that we have protests right now.

These cops ARE criminal in their actions and often even in their intent.

Wow, I didnt think I'd actually see someone admit they thought that. It's signature worthy.

Wrong, since I just listed 2 and your 'na huh' reply didnt address them.

Wholesale changes: banning choke holds, ending no-knock warrants.

Here's another: re-evaluation of taser use. Are they to be used as lethal weapons or less than lethal? That status governs their use...and abuse.

And continuing to develop: more widespread use of body cameras and more discipline for when they are 'accidentally' turned off.

Then how come Brooks didnt get his? He was executed for resisting arrest and escaping. The officers knew he was not an immediate threat to the public...however they were: they put a bullet in a car with 3 people in it.

We shall see.

So you believe that policing of African-Americans doesnt need to change?

Simply not true.

No problem eliminating the choke hold, already banned in many police departments.
Elimination of no-knock warrants will lead to more police deaths.
Taser use and body cameras are essentially administrative issues.
