Melania Trump used newfound leverage to redo prenup after election win, new book says

Melania might be covering her bases in the event Donald moves on to a new "relationship". Their marriage is a business arrangement, and things can change. She also sees his uneven treatment of Tiffany, and used her temporary power to protect Barron.

Could be, trump has always said that when a wife turns 35 it's time to trade her in for a younger model...

OK. Hillary was a political person who Bill saw as his equal. As she said, I guess she should have been baking cookies. The country wasn't ready.

No, not at all. The first-lady (or man) should by all means become involved with the initiatives they care about. They shouldn't involve themselves with governing. That's just my preference. I guess I'm a traditionalist.

Nepotism isn't new in WH politics. Bobby Kennedy springs to mind. But a brother is not a spouse. My views are probably reflective of my age, and you're probably right the country wasn't ready.

Poor Trump haters..... a new Trump hate book that the Trump haters will buy!
Pure garbage!! :bs:donkeyfla:hitsfan::beatdeadhorse

I'm still wondering why no one has written a book about the inner workings of the White House that shows it to be the "well oiled machine" that Trump often refers it to. Probably because a writer would find no one to say such a thing and the book wouldn't sell because everyone knows that such would be pure fiction. No, the inner workings of the White House are complete chaos, just as this book implies and virtually every other one written attests.

Then, of course, as you know, the market of Trump haters far, far exceeds the market of Trump supporters, so its easy to see how there is a good demand for views into the train wreck that is the Trump presidency.

I'm probably of similar age. Bill ran on reforming health care. He happened to be married to a policy wonk who spent years studying that problem. So he appointed her. That's when a lot of us got a big surprise about just how "liberated" the country was.

I also noticed your skipped Nancy Reagan. I think she had quite a bit of power in the second term.

Yes, Nancy. That was an error. I thought she was a good first lady, though I disagreed strongly with her "just say no" campaign.

Melania Trump used newfound leverage to redo prenup after election win, new book says

First lady Melania Trump favorably renegotiated her prenuptial agreement after husband Donald Trump won the White House, according to a new book by Washington Post reporter Mary Jordan.

Mrs. Trump stayed in New York for months after the president's inauguration, saying publicly it was because she didn’t want to interrupt son Barron’s school year. Privately, Jordan writes in "The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump," she was using the time to cool off and leverage her absence in negotiations — as the president's allies wanted her in Washington to be a calming force for the president.

According to a Post report on the book, Mrs. Trump learned new details about her husband during the scandal-riddled campaign, which was marked by reports of his alleged infidelities and a hot mic tape that captured him describing groping women's genitals and kissing them without consent. Trump has denied the affairs.

Mrs. Trump then used her marriage, the president's longest relationship, and her newfound standing as first lady to rework her initial prenuptial agreement, which the book reports had not been particularly generous.

I'm not sure what to think of Melania here. How could she not know of Trump's philandering? But, I give her credit for sticking it to Trump with a renegotiated prenup. If Trump loses, I wonder if she stays with him.

The only difference between Melania and a cheap hooker is the prices they charge.

Well, since we're on the topic.

I was in a first grade classroom when Kennedy was shot. They sent us home. Something I'll always remember. My understanding of "president" came along with Johnson somewhere, but my opinion of Ladybird was "that's not a real name." Lol. Ladybird Johnson was a fine first-lady. Jackie Kennedy became Jaqueline Onassis, and gold-digger or not, she had class. Trish Nixon, Betty Ford, Rosalind Carter, Laura and Barbara Bush, and Michelle Obama. All perfectly fine American first-ladies. Perfectly American.

All my life I've made it a practice not to tarnish First Ladies simply because I abhorred the policies of their husbands. I've continued that practice with Melania Trump as well. I have my own speculations about why she decided to marry such a pig in the first place, but nobody really knows what her life was like at the time. Maybe it was the only way she could get her entire family out of Slovenian poverty, with expedited green cards, and assure herself American children who would inherit enough money that they could live better lives. Who knows?

I do admire the fact that despite desperately not wanting to be First Lady, she nonetheless has on several occasions publicly made statements (including tours of children detained at the border) that clearly defies her husband's positions. Thumbs up to her for that! :)

Yeah, I never got the "Hillary hate" when she was first lady. Frankly, I think a lot of people, particularly male people, realized that she was a strong, independent woman and one hell of a lot smarter than they were. You're right; the country wasn't ready. It still isn't.

I agree, but I also think she is deeply embarrassed by all his cheating and disrespect especially because it is very public now.

For those of us like myself who were born and raised in NYC...we always have known what a piece of **** Donald Trump is. Sad that he was able to con the rest of the country that didn't know about him outside of the apprentice, and the guy who harassed Obama about his birth certificate.

I never hated her, but I always found her...kind of aloof? I dunno, maybe I'm just reading into things that are not there.

But no doubt that the GOP has spent 20+ tearing her down with garbage propaganda, phony investigations, and conspiracy theories. The GOP has a ridiculous hatred of her that's borderline psychotic.

Don't post stupid things. I'm not Donald Trump. I never supported Hillary in my life, like your crush did.

Damn, it's breathtaking how ignorant your posts are.

Oh, and guess what? I can prove I didn't vote for her in 2016. I posted this ballot that day (not that anyone thought I voted for her, since most people aren't ignorant). But keep failing. I like watching you sink.

Honestly, you don't have to prove yourself to these Trump clowns who joined this forum like a week ago.

What I personally find interesting is the same right wing posters who were posting on your side and agreeing with you during the Obama years, would turn on you just because you chose not to worship Trump because he's pretending to be a Republican.

A lot of Republicans like to talk about Democrats engaging in "group think", but they themselves are far more guilty of it than Democrats are. Just like their dear leader, they project what they are on to others.

I can't remember a more silent and ineffective first-lady. She's as much a failure as her husband. It will be nice to get an intellectual first-lady for a change.

Well, we had a First Lady who tried to get kids to eat healthier school lunches, and Republicans called her a racist and made fun of her looks, so it's obvious being an "effective" First Lady is irrelevant to them.

Yep. And before that we had Laura Bush. She was sweet. So was Michelle, of course. Being likeable is a big deal to me.

And as an aside, the Bush twins created quite an uproar for acting like normal teenagers. This illustrates how desensitized to the abandonment of social and political norms we have become.

Perhaps -- just perhaps, mind you -- President of the United States of America Donald Trump and his transactional approach to women has given a new meaning to the phrase, 'Pay to play'.

Bill Maher, last night did a segment on how the GOP has fallen so far into Trump's domination that they need to pick a safe-word.

I remember when Trump divorced one of his wives he said he hadn't bought her any jewellery because he didn't want her to have any "negotiable assets". What a sad state of affairs it is that we have these agreements, as if anticipating an inevitable divorce. When did marriage become a business deal?

She is full of **** if she's claiming she didn't know her fake Christian husband loved to break the "thou shall not commit adultery" commandment. Trump cheated on his previous wives and publicly boasted about it. And don't tell me he wasn't grabbing her ***** as she was flashing it around for everyone in the world to see.

She's as vile as he is. I hope it was worth the money and the fake tits he paid for and the citizenship her communist parents got.

Jesus christ dude. Chill.

In the show Pippin, there's a question asked by Charlemagne which might well also be asked by President of the United States of America Donald Trump. Those familiar with the play will get the reference immediately. ;-)

Marla Ann Maples (born October 27, 1963) is an American actress and television personality. Maples was the second wife of Donald Trump. They married in 1993 and divorced in 1999, and had one child together, Tiffany Trump .

Named for a jewellery store (Tiffany's). That pretty much sums up Trump and his obsession with appearances and cash. The poor sap thinks a tasteless apartment that looks like a cheap casino is the height of sophistication.

From the story:

In a statement, the first lady's chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, said: "Yet another book about Mrs. Trump with false information and sources. This book belongs in the fiction genre."

NBC News has not independently confirmed the reporting in the book, which is set to be released Tuesday.

Stephanie Grisham is paid to say whatever Mrs. Dirtbag Donnie want's her to say. She's no different than all the other (current and former) press secretaries that work for the WH. Can't believe a word she says.

One thing you will notice about me is when I express my opinion on a topic, I expressly make sure I use words like I think, I feel, etc. Because those are MY opinions. You will not find many examples of me telling other people what they think or feel. The reason being I have lived my life and have come to my conclusion thus far. I have never lived your life so I know not how you have come to your conclusions.

I base my beliefs on Melania being a hooker because I have seen happy couples. I have never seen an image where she looked happier than when she was staring into the eyes of the French leader. I have not seen article of her defending Trump. I have not heard her give speeches with funny little stories in them about how they met or fell in love.

I say Hillary was power hungry. She wanted political power and married a man placed in a position to help her get it. I believe they were young activists who fell in love. Later he cheated. I believe she wanted to remain on the rise politically and accepted it.

Once again. If my daughter did the same as Hillary I would try to talk her out of it and wonder where I went wrong.

I am a Liberal. I do not speak for all Liberals. All Liberals do not speak for me. I speak for myself. Don't use stereotypes to understand me.

You call Melania a whore for the same reasons, but refuse to call Hillary a whore. It's called hypocrisy Bark. But seem OK with that.
