The Latest: Police fire tear gas to disperse D.C. protest

I have seen lots of protesters so far on news reels and such, struggling to find any peaceful ones, they start off that way but it doesnt last, what makes you think those protesters were going to remain peaceful, they havent so far, that doesnt seem to be the norm.

Look for the peaceful protest right before they were aggressively moved using tear gas , flash bangs, and rubber bullets. Today June 1st that after noon up until 630 PM outside of white house. Pleanty of footage panning up and down the crowd.

Here's what the Bishop of the church Trump posed in front of had to say about that:

Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde:

"I am outraged. The President did not pray when he came to St. John's, nor as you just articulated, did he acknowledge the agony of our country right now."

"Let me be clear: The President just used a Bible, the most sacred text of the Judeo-Christian tradition, and one of the churches of my diocese, without permission, as a backdrop for a message antithetical to the teachings of Jesus."

"We align ourselves with those seeking justice for the death of George Floyd and countless others," she continued. "And I just can't believe what my eyes have seen."

That is the funny thing...when he brought out the Bible, I thought maybe I was wrong, it would not be a photo op....maybe he will pray with us. Nope, just a photo op....one that meant peaceful protesters had to be aggressively displaced .

I was out on my Bass Tracker at sunset just in the bay. The weather was perfect. Calm water. Calm air. Perfect temperature. Light breeze. Doing some casting.

But then I snagged on a buoy. Pulling on the line to just snap it, hopefully at the lure, pulling the line just slowly pulled the boat towards the buoy. Quickly the wind kicked up, pushing against the boat in the opposite direction plus a fast outgoing tide pushing the boat away toward the water shallow - too shallow in some points. Finally the line snapped and I was quickly drifting toward what I know is a mud flat only inches below the water. Get stuck on that and you're stuck if the wind and current is against you. All you can do is wait hours for the tide to rise - hoping your can emergency of mosquito spray from one of the lockers holds out.

Time to get out of there before the water is too shallow and head back for the dock. So I quick turned the key to start the little 30 hp Mercury - and it did nothing, like a totally dead battery as the boat continued to drift towards the mud flat. DAMN THAT NANCY PELOSI!

OK, now it is your turn to again blame President Trump for something he had absolutely nothing to do with whatsoever. No, President Trump does not direct the DC capital police.

So you are saying he is a blithering idiot because he did not know that displacing a huge crowd in 15 minutes was going to cause mayhem.

It means the DC capital police didn't side with a mob and allow property destruction and vandalism to continue - as Democratic mayors and Democratic appointed police chiefs have allowed.

You, like most progressives, always make excuses for criminals trying to blame someone else. The President didn't not force anyone to engage in any property destruction or vandalism or otherwise cause "mayhem."

The Latest: Police fire tear gas to disperse D.C. protest - ABC News

I was watching the news to see what President Trump had to say. He was to speak for a few minutes in the Rose Garden.

Immediately before this, PEACEFUL protesters were pushed away with tear gas, rubber bullets, and flash bangs.

.

Not sure why the link did not go to the correct story. The story is about today's peaceful protest at the WH.

Here is a story which hopefully will link correctly.

Washington bishop outraged by Trump visit to church - CNNPolitics
Her pointed comments came after the President walked from the White House to St. John's Episcopal Church, a house of worship used by American presidents for more than a century. Peaceful protesters just outside the White House gates were dispersed with tear gas, flash grenades and rubber bullets. It was all, apparently, so Trump could visit the church.

This is why he had to have the streets cleared in short order. Gotta get the photo op.

There was a peaceful protest today at the White House. There was no sign of escalation.

The protesters today had 30 minutes to curfew and were peaceful.

What the trip across the street for the Photo Op did was force aggression into a situation where it was not needed. It is almost like he is looking for trouble.

I mean seriously...a photo op on short notice forcing a peacefully demonstration crowd through aggressive tactics to leave?

Couldn't he have done it before the crowds? After curfew? Or perhaps figured out that a photo op was a douche move when you have a few more pressing matters?

It was not a peaceful protest. The vandalism is apparent.

Is anyone surprised at the desperation of so many progressives to fully support rioters, looters and arsonists? As always, there is no topic they can not discuss without desperately trying to divert the topic to their irrational hatred of and false accusations against President Trump. Absolutely none of this had to do with Trump.

100% of this is on the Democratic Party, their officials and their police.

This is a thread based on a peaceful protest that occurred within the past 2 hours. Don't you think peaceful protesters should be left alone?
Nope,
They should disperse when they are told to do so. They got what they deserved.

Not when they are breaking the law by disobeying a 7 PM curfew.
Screw the curfew they were all violating the social distancing order. They are risking our lives for their own selfish gratification

What gives protesters the right to block me from doing what I want?

Is that in the Constitution?

They have the right to protest. Your right to do what you want has limits. You not being able to get to a part of the city while they protest isnt grounds for removing their rights. What you preach goes against what this. action stands for and its laws. If you cant peacefully accept those then I'd suggest a nation more to your fitting. Like the Congo or something.

Christ, imagine four more years of this.

Yep, and that's what we'll get when Trump wins because him winning won't stop the Dems, the Trump haters and the media from fanning the flames of divisiveness, from supporting Antifa, from supporting thugs, mobs and rioters.

Heck, even Pelosi blames Trump...and won't condemn the rioters.

Cardinal, if you really cared about "four more years of this", you would work as hard as you can against the Dems...the Trump haters...the media.

Oh...protesters, rioters, thugs...have the right to do those things, but I...a peaceful, law-abiding citizen, a property owner, a businessman...well, my rights are "limited"?

Jesus, dude...you have it ass-backwards.

They have a right to protest. They don’t have a right to impede others business. If you can’t peacefully accept that I’ll buy your ticket to the Congo.

There is video all over the twitter showing cops start the violence. There’s even one showing two cops off loading bricks. The police chief in Louisville was fired after two of his cops shot and killed a protester without turning their body camera on. DC police attacked a peaceful crowd yesterday. And, all this crap started because a Minnesota cop with 18 complaints in his jacket murdered a black man who was lying on the ground.

The problem is the police. Same as it ever was.

“The Congo”? Wtf dude? Let me guess. Your going to pretend that wasn’t a racist remark.

Yesterday they were given very short notice to totally move a peaceful very large protest out of the area. Given that the crowd was peaceful and obeying curfew, the officers could have been advised to take more time maneuver the crowd differently - but if course, President Trump and to make a impromptu walk off grounds to St John's for a photo op. In order to make that happen....the crowd had to be pushed hard.

This was the type of demonstration that President Trump indicated he was in favor of in his speech. He is not stupid. He had to clearly understand that pushing a crowd that size that fast was not going to be gentle. Hence the tear gas, rubber bullets, and flash bangs.

His desire for a political photo op with a Bible in front of the church created enormous havoc, let alone increasing tensions.

Even my sleepy little suburb had a march yesterday with over 2000 people... Marched several miles blocking lanes of traffic as they marched all assisted by the local police... The mayor even attended... In a red, very red suburb in Texas... I've lived here over a decade and have never seen one protest march in this little suburb... I'm not sure this is a winning issue for Trump...

The peaceful protesters would never have been so aggressively cleared if the POTUS did not demand the photo op in front of the church.

This all happened BEFORE the curfew.

The photo op which disgusted Bishop Budde of the Washington diocese and she felt Trumps actions were against the teachings of the church.

The DC mayor is in control of the police not the president.
The president has 0 control in fact over the DC police.

So it was the mayor and the DC police chief that ordered them to do it.
Yes trump was going to go see a historical church that was burned down by your peaceful protestors.
