The California NG was involved in '92, as well.
Yep... 10,000 of them although they were not used, if I recall correctly.

It is not required as part of any grammar rule... Soldiers are not a specific group like the Rangers or Marines. If you want me to use it out of respect then you should not be laughing at a person as part of that request.
The governers can't stop him from deploying troops under the IA.
This is nothing to do with trust of individuals, but about trust of the government. No. We don't turn the military against the citizenry. We police ourselves. So don't even go there.I was in the military and you are clearly thinking wrong if you are afraid of our military. I trust our military over the local cops in this country every day of the week. Not using our military to help protect the citizens of this county is beyond stupid.
When I was in the military a lot of us were trained in mountain search and rescue. Naturally the training was to find our soldiers shot down, separated from their unit in battle, or pinned down by the enemy. When a 4 year old boy wondered off in the desert in Tucson thank God the police their called were smart enough to call us. We deployed over 100 soldiers and found the boy in hours. To not use our well trained professionals in our military is a clear sign of just how stupid we have become.
I cannot believe you think our military will just gun down the citizens of this country against orders to the contrary. But you trust the police.:doh
Every last bit of this belongs to mcconnell, though barr is certainly in the conversation. It should be impossible for folks to forget that barr was against the 0-8 Nixon watergate tapes ruling. Nixon may have been a traitor during the 1968 election, but he was never apocalyptically insane. There is a word for that, its a nasty one...
The governor of the states have to request the presence of Active Duty Military under that Act.
It is not clear if it was for a photo-op or if it was simply due to disperse a large crowd for security reasons. The people were peaceful... but the President of the USA also needs to secure safety to move around during visits, etc.
Trump threatens to deploy military as George Floyd protests continue to shake the U.S.
This will not end well
President Law & Order has spoken
Prior to the announcement- Secret Service-Police moved protesters who were not violent using tear gas, flash bangs and such, just for Trump photo op at St Johns Church

When it comes down to it, should be normal to do so. I have missed a few on my own, but I do capitalize out of respect
What you do is up to you- gave ya my opinion

Wow, so you small government types are all in on sending federal troops into the streets of our cities without the support of the governors, mayors, or local enforcement officials.
Trump could do absolutely anything, and you'd support him, wouldn't you.

Well, hang tight. It could be a bluff. Though some Govs may take Trump up on his offer (I pity their citizens), but it isn't a done deal that Trump will force the military on the ones that don't want it. Trump has been known to talk with bluster, then back down. This won’t be the last act of martial law tonight — traitor trump has now given his Xtian faithful the civil war they’ve ‘prayed’ for since WJC — Poosay Assed Bunker Bitch crossed the Rubicon this evening.
This has SStephen ‘Kristallnacht’ Miller written all over it — where was that little nazi — where was Pastor ‘Apocalypse’ Pence?
Posse Comitatus Act - WikipediaThis one takes the cake. :lamo
All enemies foreign and domestic.
After what Trump said today, I can imagine the Secret Service is as pissed at him as demonstrators are. I still don’t get it. Trump has all the people around him who can tell him the right things to say, and he still insists on stepping on his dick.

Deceiving the unwashed masses ...
You should know better.I ****ing dare him.
Do you think Trump will go along with the bolded? No way!I am sure there are many startled readers of all Political stripes that were not aware of this
Noted that Congress must if the Act invoked be informed every 14 days if extended.
Does Congress have the power to override Trump?

Which common sense would have said he did not need to go there. It was not like he was trying to reach out to the crowd and make things better.
