Trump threatens to deploy military as George Floyd protests continue to shake the U.S.

Now Trump has threatened to send tanks. Thankfully the Pentagon disagrees.

Where are the 2A people? Where are the 'libertarian' bunker boyz? They've spent their whole lives stocking up on canned beans and ammo for when there are troops in the street and now the gubmint is finally threatening to 'tread' on the people and...crickets.

And?

Why would they come out to defend a cause they don't agree with?

Arkansas was never Alabama. For three elections, Governor George Wallace had ordered all local police and the Alabama National Guard to protect the polls from unqualified (read Black) voters, and shoot outside agitators. George claimed he wasn't a racist or bigot. He was protecting his state and its citizens from outside interference, but not the KKK.

Can you show us the executive order where he invoked the Insurrection Act for Alabama?

Technically, they appear to be correct. Practically, however, they are lying like hell.

The protesters were gassed. It technically was not tear gas, but a one off substitute.

Tear gas: Washington DC protests St. Johns Church | wusa9.com

The lying of this administration is reason enough to vote them out, but its their incompetence, which is laughable at the surface, if so many people were not dying or harmed as result, that will get it done.

It's not the admin. or park chief of police who has lied. It's the media, and its lemmings who continue to invent scenarios that never happened.

If you haven't noticed, I rarely do links, and only for very current events, food or music.

Good strategy, there are no executive orders invoking the Insurrection Act from Eisenhower for Alabama...

According to you and your agenda. Not all executive orders have been written. "I charge you to find a way to strike at the heart of the evil Japanese Empire." FDR in a speech to his cabinet. Yes, that was an executive order, not written. A submariner came up with plan, Doolittle executed. Not a single written order from FDR.

WFT are you talking about... All executive orders have to be published.. good lord... You obviously have no idea what you are talking about...

It is not! Not even close...
Tear Gas vs. Pepper Spray – Aftermath Services

And the point is... the lying media and their anti-Trump lackeys reported that tear gas was used on the crowd when it wasn't.

wrong.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, riot-control agents are “chemical compounds that temporarily make people unable to function by causing irritation to the eyes, mouth, throat, lungs, and skin.”

Several compounds fall under this category, according to the CDC.

Among others, they include chloroacetophenone (CN), more commonly referred to as “mace,” or pepper sprays. Such compounds are all typically referred to as “tear gas” because their most prominent effect is to irritate mucus membranes, including the eyes, which secrete tears as a protective response.

Barr personally ordered removal of protesters near White House, leading to use of force against largely peaceful crowd

Riot-control agents are designed to cause irritation within seconds of exposure, making people want to flee. And, indeed, toxicologists advise that getting away from the gas is the best and first thing to do to mediate the impact.

The most common symptoms of exposure, according to the CDC, can include excessive watering and burning of the eyes, a runny nose, a burning mouth, chest tightness, coughing, skin burns, nausea and vomiting.

Whatever makes you happy. Now go try to find that FDR executive order. And BTW, it has been quoted many times. Harry Truman's order to drop the first bomb was oral only. Bill Clinton's orders to Monica were oral only.

There is no law requiring publication of executive orders. It is customary as good form. Obama chose to announce his order to execute the capture and if necessary, assassination of Bin Laden, on video. There was no written order. It was acknowledged with written commendations to the commanding officers of the personnel who carried out the mission, in behalf of those who did the wet work. No one objected.

You keep dodging the point.
Why are you covering for the lying media and Hillary Clinton types of liars?
She and many known biased leftist news sites claimed that Trump ordered the military to use tear gas and rubber bullets against the Lafayette protestors.

Where is their proof?
Right! There is no proof. This is just a bunch of partisan lies being printed.

little freakout there? you ok?

Gas similar to tear gas was fired on the protesters. Saying it was not tear gas, while factually correct, was false witness, meaning it really was a lie.... perpetrated by the Park Police. What do you not comprehend here????

You seem to be clueless as to what an executive order is... Here is an example... Executive order 8627.... FDR activating NG units...

You do no seem to understand that an executive order, in reference to a sitting president, is any order issued by that president, in any form. You are citing custom, or as two presidents put forth, "Here lies the blame." (and I am not speaking of Harry Truman's "The buck stops here.") If you are foolish enough to think that executive orders are limited to written execution, you have no concept of how a president functions on a day by day basis. There are moments of decision which neither have need of written orders, or time for written orders. They remain executive orders. When President Wilson fell ill, and it supposed he suffered a stroke, rather than surrender power to a vice president who had no confidence from anyone, the president's wife issued orders she claimed came from President Wilson who was in seclusion, recovering. Not once did anyone in the government question those orders and they were neither written nor signed by President Wilson. A few "tabloid journalists" speculated, as did later historians, but Edith Wilson ruled.

Richard Nixon, enamored with new technology, decided to install taping devices to record his "everyday executive orders" (his own words), making for his historical legacy. And 18 minutes of missing recordings led to his downfall, assuring a legacy he did not want.

Go make yourself happy. I've said all I have to say, and I will speak no further about such a picayune tangent from the OP.

Holy smokes.. Totally clueless.. Washington, himself, signed the first presidential executive order...

Good old Mayor Daley. :) Nixon's contingent claimed he and his party machine were bought by Joe Kennedy. I could never forget him. I laughed, he was wealthier than Joe Kennedy, didn't need his money. He owned the Chicago meat markets. But they were two of a kind.
Interesting observation concerning Daley & Kennedy.

The elder Daley (Richard J.) was affectionately referred to as, 'The Old Man'. Whereas the kid (Richard M.) was refereed to as, well, 'The Kid'! The Old Man was much beloved, unless you were a war protester or African-American. Unfortunately, that's just the way that era went in 'that toddlin' town' ...

(Yeah, Frank liked the place so much he did two tunes on it - and kept a booth & phone in the Pump Room)

Wasn't aware. But if you're interested, considering checking out Bob Koester's Delmark label and the Jazz Record Mart? The oldest indie label in the nation, and being jazz oriented along with the blues, it nicely complimented Chess' predominate blues & R & B repetoire. Koester is pure Mensch. No other way to say it. And he's still around.

Thanks. I've a delightful selection of Delmark albums and cds in my collection. Some almost as old as the earliest Stax releases. Koester is a legend, not just as a mensch but also as a goniff. Story was Chuck Berry tried to kill him one night, part of both their legends. :) They were partners at one time in a club. Didn't work out too well.

You know all those crazy stories over the decades you've heard about Chuck Berry? I believe they're all true! Damn, never **** with chuck! That's the way I always heard it!

To add to the litany:

You know all those crazy stories over the decades you've heard about Chuck Berry? I believe they're all true! Damn, never **** with chuck! That's the way I always heard it!

During 1973, when I was on the job for NYPD, I was offered some sidewalk for an evening, as an escort for a R&R guy, after one of his shows at Brooklyn College. I was told the job was to keep him out of trouble. The job was supposed to be for four hours, it ended at 6 in the morning when I got that guy back to his hotel. The guy was Chuck Berry. At first he was quiet, almost snooty, and after some dinner at El Faro's, a terrific Spanish restaurant, and a few drinks, he turned on the charm. First time he had been to El Faro's, and the food was great, the place had been open since 1927 on Greenwich St on the edge of the west village. We talked about how he worked 365 days a year, at each venue different pickup musicians to back him up. He turned down no work because he was broke, in debt to the IRS, and others. Damn bitter about lawyers, agents and managers. He was now managing himself. His career was on the upswing but he received no royalties on prior work, claiming the agents, managers and lawyers had stolen all rights. In the course of the night we must have hit about 20 clubs, he knew people at each who would pick up the tab, some high end, some downright scary after hours places. The ladies were all over him. Twice I had to drag him away from craps games in the alleys behind two different places. He never acted belligerently, unless I suggested we get back to his hotel, and just gentile talk. I was paid a $100 for the job. Good money at the time. Finally, he collapsed, I drove him back to his hotel, and carried him to his bed, took off his shoes and let him sleep.

The next evening my wife received a bouquet of white roses, a note thanking her for the loan of her husband, and a $200 gratuity for me.

The incident with Bob Koester occurred after he finished his 2nd prison term. Koester had sold their club off while Berry was in prison, refused him his share. Koester also sold off Berry's interests in other clubs, with forged documentation, and refused Berry what he was due. After the first attempt on his life, Koester settled with Berry. I heard that entire story from Jack Adatto, another low life in the industry, who used multiple pseudonyms to rip off artists, especially the Spanish speaking in NYC. I had popped Adatto for running an underage prostitution ring, girls picked up at the Port Authority Bus terminal. Facing a hard 15, he started ratting for a deal, tried to implicate Berry as a partner because of the history, failed because Berry was playing it completely straight. Then we found out Adatto's real name was Joseph Greenberg, wanted for two murders in Newark, one a made guy. He was in deep, sang like a canary to avoid extradition, but ended up in NJ anyway because he told so many lies. He died in prison in NJ, serving life, but shortened by an "accident." The Koester story was verified by an interview with Clive Davis, in Rolling Stone. He was complaining he couldn't get Berry to sign with him because Berry didn't trust anyone.
