I'd like more info on this. If the tanker were loaded with fuel it can't stop on a dime. If he were deliberately trying to injure people, why would he stop? Not too bright, is it? Doesn't make sense.

Can't stop on a dime, but they announced the closure of the highways yesterday. What you're saying is he got on the highway without noticing it was closed, drove along for a few miles with no other traffic, and saw thousands of people. Your snswer is "Well, it's hard to stop?" Goddamn, that is pathetic.

Is it pathetic to ask for all of the facts before rushing to judgement? Can you tell me why he stopped, for example, so he could be sent to a hospital by "peaceful" protesters?

Its probably just an accident, the result of hundreds of people standing in a multi lane roadway that's designated for vehicle traffic, not pedestrian traffic.

Perhaps he realized that if he didn't stop and someone died, he would be charged with murder. Buyers remorse, and he so far got lucky with only some serious injuries

If the highway was closed, how did the truck driver get through?

If his motives were not good, why did he slow down and stop?

He didn't slow down unil after he slready went through.

But yeah, I'm sure he's a saint.

Why are they shutting down an interstate? That makes no sense.

Highway was closed authorities are looking into how he got onto the highway. If he bypassed barricades he is in for a world of trouble. If it was a company truck, they are in for a world of trouble

A highway which was closed. Are you a little slow on the uptake ?

To allow for a peaceful protest, during the day, away from any business's and homes. Makes perfect sense

Saw some twitter comments that might shed light on the situation:

Perhaps because they announced at 4:57pm that the highways would be closing at 5pm, instead of 8pm. They should have been diverting traffic to avoid this.

Yeah, I had to watch other angles to see the crowd disperse and the driver swerved to avoid hitting people that fell onto the ground. Luckily I don’t think a single person was hit by the trucker.

He might have been 3 states away yesterday.

DUH!

Why are they shutting down an interstate? That makes no sense.

Because even if it were open the dumbasses would be out there attempting to halt traffic with their protest.

He is ...

"... Officials in Minneapolis and St. Paul had ordered the highway closed at 5 p.m. It was unclear how the semi managed to get on the highway.

One of those protesters told KARE 11 the driver could be heard honking the horn as he approached.

"We could hear his horn," the protester said. "He was holding the horn down the entire time."

... until he managed to stop the truck without jack-knifing which would have definitely resulted in some protesters being hit.

He got that out of the terrorist handbook, right? "You must honk your horn to warn people and then stop so you can kill as many of them as possible."

The ****ing idiots should get out of the road.

I was in Wisonsin yesterday. I didn't hear anything about it being closed.

Reginald Denny stopped. Look what happened to him. This guy stopped and he got his ass whipped.

The moral? Don't stop. Split another gear and mash on it.

Nothing is known of his motives but they can't be good.

Protestors were peaceful, and the highway was closed before any of this happened.

I’m not sure you can say his motives were no good.

No word on this yet, but an explanation that makes sense to me is that he somehow got on the highway and maybe because it is a bridge, couldnt see the numbers of people until it was too late. Stopping a fully laden tanker truck takes a lot of room - so when he saw the people, he laid on the horn and was able to carefully bring the truck to a stop. If he tried to brake quicker, it could have gone sideways and really caused a problem.

Apparently, the crowd pulled him out of the truck and arrested him - wonder if the crowd worked him over a bit.

He could have been a MAGAt and blown thru barriers intent to crush people and then chickened out...but I doubt it. He knew what that crowd might do to him if he stopped.

As far as motive, we can safely rule out any ties to Antifa or BLM, because the driver appears to be gainfully employed. He didn't follow traffic safety protocol though, so maybe he's a sovereign citizen type.
