Wife of ex-Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin reportedly filing for divorce

Since he's been through this 18 times without actually killing someone, she probably knew the day would come that he would. Call it the final straw.

Likely so. That, and a man with a history of violence and abuse on the streets is quite likely to be no angel at home. In any case I'm sure she doesn't want to be the wife of an accused murderer.

You want racist murderers to steal from their victims.

So whitey.

You are now arguing that divorce proceedings are stealing? What in the world? Is it because she's female? Or is it just that they're asian? That's awful. I won't give audience to your rascist rants on the topic anymore. I have too much respect for my partners and our kids to put up with people bashing minorities.

You're arguing a shame divorce conducted solely to protect the assets of a white murderer is ethical and the black victims are entitled to nothing.

It's disgusting and pathetic and racist.

I think the point is that his wife committed a similar offense to the guy her husband killed, but nobody pinned her down to the ground and put their kneecap on her neck until she died.

Ja sam Baba Yaga [emoji328]

Glad somebody gets it.

2005 by the Daily mail is your source? for $42 come on now...that sounds like an accounting error and not a string of checks and from 15 years ago? No, she isn't accused of any wrongdoing.

If she made an honest mistake she would have paid after she got the first letter. Instead she waited until criminal charges got filed and the paid. Beats a knee to the neck right.

So yes she was accused of wrong doing. She is a thief that probably counterfeited checks before. it was just the first time she got caught.

Your racist rantings against this Asian American woman is vile. Leave her and her children alone. She's not at fault, and should be allowed to divorce for whatever reason she wishes. Posts like yours, and the views you express, are part of the reason minorities feel so mistreated and disrespected in the United States.

"Asian woman asking for divorce is a sham." Get real. I'm not up to responding to anymore of your anti-asian rants. Maybe another time. I will never understand the hate you express towards "others" though.

I'm not claiming she's involved in a conspiracy to defraud the victims of restitution, and claiming that's moral.

You are.

She's leaving him because he's scum. Stop making excuses for him.

Meh, I dunno. From what I've read, he didnt turn into scum overnight.

This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa

As if women can just leave whenever they want, especially from a psycho cop.

No, the order is not final. But an uncontested divorce with no kids can be resolved fairly quickly. Once the order is final, the assets are split, and I doubt a civil court would go after her assets for his actions. It's not perfect, but it's a sound move to try to separate her before the avalanche falls on him.

I have no idea if this is why she filed for divorce. But she could end up with his pension.

Should it go to his victim's family instead of her?

Um, I speculated on what's been published...you have no idea what their relationship is. You have no idea if or how much she shared his perspective on violence and his actions over the yrs on the street.

That's why I asked if she'd be able to testify against him once divorced.

She can testify while married, right? The cop knew the victim, worked with him as security for a club. Maybe the cop said something to her about the victim in the past.

Now, regarding their relationship. I think we can draw a lot from his service record, his having murdered someone and her filing for divorce the moment she has the opportunity to do so without his retribution. Maybe all those things don't mean anything but they sure do all point to the same thing.

Sorry someone asked if that bad check was from a joint account. that post got deleted Accidentally quoted yours.

No biggie! My bad. Sorry to jump down your shirt.

There is no evidence that legalizing drugs would reduce problems. First off for most drugs there’s no legitimate business that could sell them. You libs made it illegal to sell raw milk because of Listeria, you think food and drug regulators are going to approve the sale of Meth? Are we going to indemnify all producers of illegal drugs?

So all the drugs will still be made by organized crime.

But furthermore it is immoral to permit people to use drugs in the first
place

Was Jesus immoral? Did he not turn water into wine?

Edit: Also, as far as evidence of reducing problems we have with drugs one only need to look at what happened after prohibition of alcohol ended and the sharp drop in crime from it.

AFAIK, a wife cannot be forced to testify against her husband.

And if you assume that his record was so evident to her (I'd agree) I sure as heck believe she'd leave him if she truly objected. I dont buy into the "all women are so weak they wont leave losers and abusers," sorry. We are not all victims like that. It's just insulting to make such a blanket assumption...if you would.

Unfortunately this is true. It's difficult for a woman to leave a marriage when children are involved. I'm betting that she's been an emotionally, if not physically abused wife for a long while. These are the women that stay out of fear for their lives, but there's also the possibility she had nowhere to flee if she was afraid to stay in their home. It's complex and every situation is different.

It's pretty tough to take away a cop or fireman's pension but I don't know.... murder is a pretty heavy charge and they may take his pension away from him.

How would that work if the divorce settlement comes first? They would be taking it away from her.

This is purely speculative. I really don't think her motives are financial.

That's ****ing bs. Taxpayers should be returned that money. In illinois we can really use it. Pensions are the biggest expenditure.

It is difficult. And millions of women manage it. Just because it's hard doesnt mean it doesnt have to be done to end the abuse. It's the only way to end it...they dont stop on their own. And they owe it to their kids to do so. Otherwise, the kids often get abused but more than that, they LEARN that that is normal. That's the way adults treat each other. They both may continue the cycle...the boy the abuse, the girl the acceptance. Or vice versa.

Women are not all victims. I hate when women are depicted like that.

Actually since you mentioned that i had to look up drew peterson. A cop in illinois that killed both his wives. He had 79000 a year pension that was terminated. Not sure what the law in minnesota is though.
