They guy's having a bad week.[h=1]Wife of ex-Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin reportedly filing for divorce[/h]
The wife of Derek Chauvin, the fired Minneapolis police officer charged in the death of George Floyd, has reportedly filed for divorce over his role in the case, according to media reports.
Attorneys for Kellie Chauvin said Friday that she is seeking the “dissolution of her marriage” to Chauvin.
“She is devastated by Mr. Floyd’s death,” a statement on behalf of Kellie Chauvin and her family read. “Her utmost sympathy lies with his family, his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving.”
“She has filed for dissolution of her marriage,” the letter continued.
Kellie Chauvin doesn’t have any children from her current marriage, the letter said, and it was not clear how long the couple have been married.

She also asked for her children and family to have protection. He may have been abusive to her and their kids. I only have one thing I'd ask her; 'what took you so long?'

I've seen situations like you describe. We don't often publicly hear of it, until the guy snaps & does something heinous, and then we find out his history that was protected by the blue wall.Fear!!
Her husband was a cop...so who is she gonna call after he abused her and/or her kids? But now that he's going be tied up for awhile with other matters...now is probably her best chance to be rid of him.
What exactly are you saying here?He has "them" as a team. Like everything is not only honky dory in their marriage but they're so tight as to commit fraud together in the face of injustice. In that fairy tale world, this guy has it all together.
Why tell that fairy tale?
absolutely...it worked for me. My ex ended up in jail and I took my **** and ran for the damn hills.
Well if she was indeed scared of her husband, perhaps she is using the fact that he is currently incarcerated as a her chance to get the Hell out.
No one seems to be on this mans side (public opinion wise). So why are we seeing arson and looting? Why is the media and the Democratic Party failing to condemn this criminal behavior?
What exactly are you saying here?
She just lost her husband. Great way for her to make some cash. Beats writing fraudulent checks, which she is accused of doing.

I have literally no idea how you extrapolated that? Surely, you realize the couple are talking to their lawyers? And receiving counsel? Whether together, or separately? In fact, he virtually surely was appointed a lawyer by his FOP union. It's painting the cop in the best possible light. An impossible light. A valorizing light.
He doesn't have things together. His wife isn't acting in his interest so as to protect their assets in the face of injustice. He's scum and she's out.
The cop's soon to be ex-wife is accused of writing fraudulent checks? Link to that info source, please.
Exactly! She may have done it herself. Or, it may have been a mutually agreed upon tactic. But the family has to isolate their assets & liability from the husband.I think people are making assumptions about domestic violence.
I'm sure the family consulted attorneys, and this was probably an option presented to help protect her. This separates her from the issue - isolating her financially, and separating her in the public view. There's no question he's going to jail and facing lawsuits. She still has to live her life. Hopefully, he cares enough to not contest this.
Did you bother reading the link provided in the op?
"Officer Derek Chauvin’s wife, Kellie, who was the 2018 Mrs. Minnesota America winner, was accused of writing a bad check for $42 to Mega Pick’N Save West in February 2005, the Daily Mail reported."

Try reading it again?
Anyway, they're not a team and she's not out for financial reasons. He's scum. End of story.
To the bold: She probably felt safe to leave now that he is in jail and in the public eye. Cops kill the wives who try to leave often enough to be worried, IMO.[h=1]Wife of ex-Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin reportedly filing for divorce[/h]
