Rioters ATTACK CNN headquarters in Atlanta – burn police car as unrest continues

How would you describe them?

Peaceful protesters vs. rioters and anarchists?
Well, we can rule out the peaceful protesters setting fires, looting and destroying everything in sight. The latter two pretty much cover that.
So, to CNN, don't stand there in front of cars and buildings engulfed in fire, or stores being destroyed and emptied of their merchandise, and tell me they're protesting.

So, the response is a lynch mob?

I don't even engage with the "lynching" gaslighting. A lynching is a lynching. Any other killings or attacks or oppression is not a lynching. Don't allow the leftists to co-opt language to suit their agenda.
They win when we fall for their tricks and adopt their relativity and imprecise language.

Might they be described as extremely frustrated citizens petitioning their government for meaningful change?

I am not sure what the anger is at CNN..I am not in Atlanta so I haven't read a lot about it...but there is still a lot of pent up anger of the Kathryn Johnston issue and yes, it was years ago, but people lost complete faith in the APD during that time. I don't agree with them protesting in Atlanta in this fashion...the situation in Atlanta has nothing to do with Minnesota.

I would say that the issues in Minnesota are similar to issues in Metro Atlanta which are similar to issues in Metro Baltimore which are similar to issues in metro Detroit.

It is the same issues that were brought up by Black Lives Matter. It is across much of the US.

:lamo

Hate you? To the contrary...I dont give enough of a **** about you to care about you one way or the other. You people have **** your bed...and you think you are going to come on a US message board and give your words credence?

Stop trying to close down participation here by censoring Europeans for fear of criticism. You are not Donald Trump.

I don't really watch any media at all anymore. People who do --- is anyone saying anything about the danger of these rioters gathering in large groups during a pandemic?

I’ve spent more than half my life in the EU... from childhood to today.

So many are arrogant and massively misinformed. I don’t initiate discussions, but when one of these arrogant types opens their yaps, it’s fun toying with their minds. The depths of their ignorance is usually staggering... so it’s just pure entertainment watching them fumble and bumble about things they know little to nothing about except the bumper sticker claims. The more participants witnessing the dissection... the better.

Debating this Jean-s publicly would be a mauling... for this individual claimed Japan started WWII. When you start with that level of ignorance... you don’t debate, you simply laugh and walk away.
Most American children are taught about Pearl Harbor. You must have been in Europe when they were teaching these lessons in the 8th grade.

This may be the dumbest post ever posted on this forum.

The historical facts always bother those with an anti-Trump agenda...

God bless Keisha Lance Bottoms.
This is leadership.

Let me just speak to what is happening here today.

Above everything else, I am a mother. I am a mother to four black children in America, one of whom is 18 years old. And when I saw the murder of George Floyd, I hurt like a mother would hurt.

And yesterday when I heard there were rumors about violent protests in Atlanta, I did what a mother would do, I called my son and I said, ‘Where are you?’ I said, ‘I cannot protect you and black boys shouldn’t be out today.’ So, you’re not going to out concern me and out care about where we are in America. I wear this each and every day, and I pray over my children, each and every day.

So what I see happening on the streets of Atlanta is not Atlanta. This is not a protest, this is not in the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr., this is chaos. A protest has purpose. When Dr. King was assassinated, we didn’t do this to our city.

So, if you love this city, this city that has had a legacy of black mayors and black police chiefs and people who care about this city, where more than 50% of the business owners in metro Atlanta are minority business owners, if you care about this city, then go home. And pray that somebody like Reverend Beasley will come and talk to you and give you some instructions on what a protest should look like, and how you effect change in America.

This police chief [Atlanta police chief Erika Shields] made a video yesterday — pull it up on YouTube — where she said she was appalled to watch the murder of George Floyd. This woman did that.

You’re not honoring a legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement. You are not protesting anything running out with brown liquor in your hands, breaking windows in this city. T.I., Killer Mike owned half the West side, so when you burn down this city, you’re burning down our community.

If you want change in America, go and register to vote. Show up at the polls on June 9th. Do it in November. That is the change we need in this country.

You are disgracing our city, you are disgracing the life of George Floyd and every other person who has been killed in this country. We are better than this. We are better than this as a city, we are better than this as a country. Go home. Go home.

In the same way I can’t protect my son yesterday, I cannot protect you out in those streets. You are throwing knives at our police officers, you are burning cars. You have defaced the CNN building. Ted Turner started CNN in Atlanta 40 years ago because he believed in who we are as a city. There was a black reporter who was arrested on camera this morning, who works for CNN. They are telling our stories. And you are disgracing their building.

This is not the legacy of civil rights in America. This is chaos, and we are buying into it. This won’t change anything, we are no longer talking about the murder of an innocent man. We are talking about how you are burning police cars on the streets of Atlanta, Georgia.

Go home.

Also applies to Minneapolis.

Is that for Metro Atlanta or just Atlanta?

Atlanta only has a population of 500 000 vs 5 miĺlion for Metro Atlanta

The Atlanta PD is 58% black. You tell me what area that covers.

Most American children are taught about Pearl Harbor. You must have been in Europe when they were teaching these lessons in the 8th grade.

That’s not when WWII started.

I do not believe you have an inkling what American school children have been taught.

Good try, epic fail.

It's you, as if you didn't know.

Answer the question.

You inserted “alt-right “ into a response... I want to hear your definition of it.

I believe your first response indicates you haven’t a clue how to answer... much like you having no clue when WWII started.

The USA was neutral and not involved in the war until Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Only after that did the war become truly a World War. See it you can get your hands on an 8th grade social studies textbook.

The city of Atlanta, which has a population of 500 000. The surrounding metro area is 5 million. I wonder what the PD look like in those area's.

So I would not use the stats for 10% of the population in a given area to cover the whole population. It can lead to false assumptions don't you think

Never heard of the "Day of Infamy" I suppose.

The riot is happening in Atlanta.

Your responses are so immature, just as your avatar is. I would bet your IQ and your age are nearly identical.

The avatar fits under the ‘Ol chestnut... a picture is worth a thousand words. Add a few words and that little diddy has proven to be a pretty potent reminder of Obama’s feckless 8-years. His reign of error... and now we have learned unequivocally... his corrupt to the core, 3rd World styled ****hole Banana Republic administration.

Obama... the most corrupt President in American history.

As for your posts... they’re not serious, but quite entertaining.

Perhaps DP should change its motto... Come for the debates, stay for the laughs.

It’s why I’m here... to have a great laugh at the expense of ridiculous Leftists.

Thanks!!!

The riot is happening in Atlanta.

Which is part of the metro Atlanta region. Do you think problems end or begin right at the boundaries of the city of Atlanta, that the PD next door might be full of corrupt racists, and what they do never ever effects people from a different district. Atlanta is just the center of the metro area, the most famous part of the region, it does not have even 25% of the population

they are similar issues, the anger is understood, but the way it is being directed is not....There is a protest going on in Columbia, SC as well...it looks nothing like the one in Atlanta...a friend of mine is recording the protest as we speak...and it is on facebook live.

Never heard of the "Day of Infamy" I suppose.

Dodge #2.

What is your definition of alt-right?

My bet, knowing your ignorance on major world events, like when WWII started, is you haven’t a ****ing clue... Clouseau.

FDR’s “Day of Infamy” was not the start of WWII.

Europeans... and this is what the American Left wants us to follow (facepalm).

Lots of young male white guys turning up at protests, which turn quickly to riots. It's almost like the boys were proud of themselves.

All the protests could be organic in nature without a central person organizing them, just locals using social media to organize and gather

If there is a central force trying to organize things and direct things, the US is in a for world of hurt
