New York (CNN Business)Twitter says President Donald Trump and the White House's official Twitter (TWTR) account have violated its rule against glorifying violence and has affixed a warning label to tweets on both, marking the first time such action has been taken against the accounts. The social media platform is using what it calls a "public interest notice" to flag the incendiary post about the protests and violence in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
This means the tweets will not be removed, but will be hidden behind a notice that says "this Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about glorifying violence. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public's interest for the Tweet to remain accessible." Users can view it if they click past the notice.

Oh I bet this made the Tangerine Toddler nuts.

Wonder if there will be a new EO

lol

Sad that the President of the United States is going to promote violence like this.

Did you catch the part where Trump this morning re-Tweeted an excerpt of the line deemed violent, and Twitter subsequently flagged that Tweet - too?

From my understanding the term "warning label" is a bit misleading. That "label" actually blocks viewing the Tweet in question, until the user agrees to uncover it to be able to see it. And even then, they are un-blacking that specific Tweet only.

Didn't Trump repost a video of a deplorable saying 'the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat?' I'll have to look and see if that video was taken down.

*Edit* Here's an article on it: Trump shares video of supporter saying "the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat" - CBS News

Came from a local New Mexico politician. Interesting how he says he doesn't really mean it in a 'physical sense' and goes on to say he's received death threats. Oh, the irony. I'm sure those threats were not meant in a physical sense, buddy!

I suspect the moderator who did that will be beaming with a very wide smile for the rest of the day. That must have been very satisfying.
They should. I would!

You have a problem with the President telling criminal looters and arsonist that they might be shot if they are out doing that? Why? If they showed up to your house and tried to break in and steal you possessions and set it afire, you would just let them?

There was a twitter employee who deactivated Trump's twitter account the day he left the place.

In middle of a global health pandemic, in a riot spurred by cops killing an unarmed black man in custody and the possibility of it getting much worse....yes, the President encouraging violence is a problem.

If the cops start shooting protesters, tensions will explode nation wide. It would throw us into even more disarray.

Putin must be laughing.

Theft is not a capital offense.

"Salivating", is more like it.

The fear of martial law is historically a right wing thing. Wonder why they don't care in this instance when Trump says he'll call in the national guard to start the extra-judicial killings. Not sure how much more "big government" you can get than the state coming in and murdering people.

In this case, neither the mayor of Minneapolis nor the governor of the state seem willing to do anything to stop the rioters. The logical presumption is that they'd rather let the National Guard come in and do their dirty work for them.

The only thing wrong with Trump's tweet is that it didn't acknowledge that the looting had already been going on for quite a while by that time.

I wonder if Twitter censored Colin Kaepernick for championing the spirit of mindless destruction?

Hypocritical s*** like that is exactly why the right is constantly being accused of racism. Black Lives Matter marching against police brutality? "Get the rubber bullets and the riot gear!!!" White folks protesting because they can't go to the salon to dye their roots? "FREEEDUUUUMMMMBBB!!!"

Your post doesn't address the extra-judicial killings.

I presume you can be a little more specific than that.

Sure, more specifically, the national guard coming in to "bring in order" as your post is alluding to doesn't address the completely separate fact that this thread is about, which is Trump advocating the national guard using live ammunition to murder civilians in the street.
