President Trump reacted with shock and anger to the third night of protests in Minneapolis in reaction to the death of George Floyd, who died in police custody this week.
Just before 1 a.m. ET, after the Minneapolis Police Department's 3rd Precinct was set on fire, Trump shot off a series of tweets that decried a "lack of leadership" from Minneapolis officials before comparing the protesters to "thugs."

"I can’t stand back & watch this happen to a great American City, Minneapolis. A total lack of leadership. Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right," Trump said in one tweet.

Trump will be raked over the coals because he made it political. But his reaction is no surprise to anyone. Trump will use these riots in campaign commercials to rile up his idiot base.

Ensuring public order is a basic function of government. Riots berthed from protests ARE political. Once again, Democrats don't get it. Thanks to this sort of crap, Trump will be reelected.

Charlottesville was a white nationalist riot essentially condoned by the president of the United States. Those WERE Trump voters who were chanting "heil Trump!". These rioters are a bunch of losers who likely don't even vote, or care about politics at all. Trump will make it political though because that's what he does.

Right, so Trump will make it political and use the "riots" in his campaign commercials in a laughable attempt to argue he's for "law and order".

Yeah, roll with that to Trump's supposed re-election. Lord knows he has no actual accomplishments to run on.

Demographics were way different in 1988, as was the overall political environment. GOP tried in 2012 to scare white voters into voting for Romney and against Obama with talks of "race riots" and "the knockout game" videos, and failed miserably.

But yeah, try again in 2020 to see if it works.

You just cannot allow the lawlessness to go on. It's easy to see where the answer is, black leadership has to step forward. I don't think anyone else can do it alone.

Oh God... dude... the Democrats are eating this **** up. It is becoming a race riot instead of a bad cop situation. Burning down the whole community? Fine. It is black people protesting injustice. Some red necks standing calmly with guns protesting lock down? ****ing Nazi White Supremacists reflecting the evil of white people in the country. :roll:
