Chaos In Minneapolis: Looting Occurring In the City, Tear Gas Being Used

What more should be done beside bringing those roque cops to justice?
Why not call up Colin Kaepernick and ask his advice? He would know what to do.

How long did it take? Justice according to who? The man had been under IA investigation 11 times....he still had a job.

Also moronic and dishonest.

In just about every protest situation, no matter who is doing the protesting, some criminal elements slip in and cause havoc.

they want to try to paint this as all black protesters...in this instance it is not all black protesters, it is a pretty damn good mix of protesters...my step brother as redneck as he looks said he definately gets why...he doesn't like the looting, but he gets why they burned the damn police station down.

is there a HURRY to charge?

will a rush to judgement change anything?

i would "prefer" the bodycam footage be completely released....and then once everyone has a chance to see the entire encounter, either charges brought forth, or a GOOD EXPLANATION on why the DA is not charging the officers

lets not put the cart before the horse though

Had the police placed one or all of the officers involved under arrest rather than simply firing them the city might not have suffered blocks of torched businesses.

I am fairly sure if I was videoed kneeling on a person's neck, and that person died, that I would have never made it home.

Here's the latest news:

Former MPD Officer Derek Chauvin In Custody, Charged With Murder In George Floyd’s Death – WCCO | CBS Minnesota

Unlike some past protests I could name, this one is without doubt fully justified by the incontrovertible evidence of a capital murder committed by an officer of the law.

The riots, however, are not justified, and I'm appalled to see a moron like Colin Kaepernick-- whom I never cared about one way or the other before-- opine that rioting and revenge are the proper exercise of the people (I paraphrase). Some other fool was trying to compare this senseless orgy of destruction to the American Revolution, which proves how little the last couple of generations know about American history.

In Minneapolis some idiot rioter-- white, I believe-- claimed that the riot was in revenge for all the ills of American society, like slavery and the extermination of Native Americans. Give me a break! How much does it help any poverty-stricken Native Americans to burn an AutoZone? More proof that virtue signaling is really designed as a shield to let supposedly virtuous persons get away with murder.

Taxation without representation? Checkmark.
Class of citizen above you that cann murder you and not be immediately arrested? Checkmark.
City zoned out so noone can own anything new and increasing rent with no way to stop it? Checkmark

The cops are lucky the rioters gave them 3 days of denouncing and escalation.

The fact that the fires were caused by mostly black persons because of rage and anger following the death of another black man makes many white folks resentful.
Black rage ending in flames is far more problematic -- and intolerable -- than white rage acting out.

Part of our nation's racial problem is that a significant number of white Americans are intolerant of black anger due to racism. Many hold that blacks complain too much.
"They should 'get over' slavery and stop complaining about it."

This attitude was evidenced during the Obama presidency. Whites who profess to hate Obama often accuse him of fostering reverse discrimination. I saw Obama as a motivated healer.
My take is that whites who resent blacks or other minorities for demanding their rights to fair treatment believe at some base level that blacks shouldn't get "uppity".
In other words, they should shut up, learn to stay in their place, and be damn glad to enjoy being in the US.

This attitude is similar to men who resent women they call "bossy", or worse, when the woman gets promoted ahead of them.

As an LGBT person, I don’t need to hear lectures from anyone about centuries of discrimination and worse. Like I said before, there are understandable targets of a riot, but we didn’t burn Stonewall Inn to the ground and call it a protest against police brutality. We protested. We rioted. We litigated. Never once did we loot and burn LGBT owned properties and try to pass it off as a protest against centuries of LGBT murder, brutality, and discrimination. In terms of reversing colors, how long did it take to criminally charge the black cop who shot and killed a white woman for no reason in this same city? Justice is taking its course. Burning down an affordable housing development doesn’t help.

No where do I support or condone violent riots- I do understand and see that people are angry.
3 days to lay charges.

As to the other shooting, I am not familiar with it

Right, so go destroy private property and terrorize innocent citizens. That'll win lots of sympathy. :lamo

Stating WHY people explode into violent action is a valid point. I don't think the rioters want sympathy. They want fairness, security and justice--none of which were given to the dead man.
The fact that police brutality continues to be a part of life in minority communities--decade after decade, and generation after generation--gets zero "sympathy" or
improved response from too many armed law enforcement professionals who should know better.

blacks are angry because they are tired of being treated like second class citizens.

By any means necessary they need to take their country back. These racists cops, killing blacks without any remorse. I hope those white cops rot in prison.

To call Black Lives Matter a radical group makes me assume that you're a card-carrying John Bircher?

Chants in unison of
"What do we want? Dead cops, When do we want them, NOW." and 5 dead cops in Dallas says otherwise.

Foreign ministers of Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States issued a statement yesterday on the situation in Hong Kong. This is just at the time when riots in the american Minneapolis were raging and people were dying.
There were no concerns about the situation in Minneapolis from Western countries.

Snopes is your gospel.

93% of black murders are committed by blacks. Black folks have more to fear from black folks than anyone else.

As a black man, do you fear other black folks? Or are you the type other black folk fear?

A black person is more likely to be shot by a black cop. Revealing that you only have a problem when its a white cop doing the killing.

I have a problem with murder. You????

All the riiots following the Michael Brown shows they weren't after fairness or justice. They wanted revenge against an innocent police officer.

I have a problem with all murders while your selective outrage is reserved for black victims of white perpetrators

Just as you were wrong about having his hand in his pocket you are wrong in your personal assessment as well. Deal with it.

A trip to the nearest Optometrist should rectify that problem with your eyesight.

Not at all. All 4 police officers should be arrested on murder/manslaughter charges.

that doesn't give these people that right to go burn loot and destroy other peoples property that had nothing to do with the incident.
this is why this type of nonsense is always a failure.

I never claimed it was justified to loot and destroy other people's property.

As a black man, do you fear other black folks? Or are you the type other black folk fear?

I fear no one and no one has reason to fear me, unless they try to harm me, or my family.

In the concept "taxation without representation," "representation" does not signify that a citizen gets everything he wants just because he wants it.

As for the other two, cite a source from Revolutionary-era history that finds these among the complaints of American revolutionists.

Well, the cops weren't lucky, but everyone who lived in the neighborhood will be far more unlucky than the cops, as the neighborhood will in future years be as blighted as Detroit. No one will want to invest there, and all the a-holes who stole TVs in order to stick it to The Man will manage to blame their folly on The Man as well.

None of which has anything to do with my expressing any approval of Floyd's murder, in case that line of thought crosses your mind.

White people are not victims of sytemtic racism you idiot.

Blacks, Asians, Muslims, Hispanics - all of these groups have legitimate claim to racism and being suppressed.

Whites? Even though many claim they are victims of racism... they are not.
