Good lord. Unless the police have some mitigating information this appears to be manslaughter. I say that freely admitting I'm not a lawyer so of course I don't know but..............

“I can’t breathe” has a familiar ring to it! Did I hear the officer order the subject to “get in the car,” while not releasing his knee on the man’s throat?

Just ridiculous.

Why, would you have given them medals instead?

Of course - took a out another black thug (in his mind)

I wonder if they feared fir theur lives while he was laying on the ground underneath them. . But that's Minneapolis police for you. I had them come in my house and cuff me for sitting on my couch.

Yup, at minimum. But since this is State agent against the People, there likely should be higher punishments.

Good. That officer ought to be charged with second degree murder (if Minnesota has such a statute).

I would hesitate to call it manslaughter. If the two of us got into a violent altercation and I grabbed you by the back of the neck and dunked your head beneath a stream of water and held it there until you died, I would almost certainly be charged with murder, even if I did not plan to do so initially. Stepping on a man's neck is no different than holding a man's head underwater or choking him with a garrote wire. It is cutting off the oxygen supply to his brain.

Kneeling on the man's carotid artery is a sure road to brain death.....f*cking idiots.

Hopefully the man sees prison time.

Trump's america. White cops, black man dead, what's the problem?

These cops need to be jailed.

The above is simply pathetic race card playing.

The casual way with which it was done is stunning. The officer kneeling on him has one hand in his pocket and the other cop never even looks down at the guy to see if he's alright.

...Really, bongsaway? I seem to recall Ferguson burned under Obama's watch.

Hopefully they are.

What does obama have to do with ferguson? Let's get to the point of what caused ferguson and it wasn't obama. I personally can't recall any incident where I thought obama was using hate speech or actions, not once.

Obama doesn't hint at violence the way this president does. It would not surprise me at some point to see a tweet from trump defending these cops.

Is it? Are you trying to tell me this is the first incident of this type you've ever seen?

If that's what you got from my criticism of your race baiting sentiment, you've got more problems than I can express here.

I doubt it was air or breathing. I believe the blood supply was cut off and that is what killed him.

Oh the cops will be charged for sure.

It blew me away that on the Judy woodruff PBS show she made a huge deal of this. She loves to feature anti Trump stories.

That was straight up murder. The cops all need life in prison and the knee cop needs death sentence.

The point is that white officers have been killing non-violent black suspects years before Donald Trump came into power. This is not a new occurence.

Standard tactic. Deliberately inflict pain while arresting someone, they struggle because that's how the **** human beings react to pain, then they are "resisting" so you now have full authority to beat the **** out of them. Or murder them, as is the case this time. This has always been a problem, we're just more aware of it now because everyone has a video camera in their pocket.

It should be nationwide law that cops wear bodycam and give them no ability to turn it off. You're on duty? You're on camera. Maybe over the next couple decades that will start to reign in the fascist thugs that have infiltrated our nations' police forces.

Not new at all, sadly it's very typical and even more sadly there are many people who think nothing of it because it's white cops killing a black man. 2020 and we still put up with this kind of behavior from our police. It won't slow down until some of them are convicted for murder and get the message you better stop killing black people for no reason. I've seen videos of cops escalating a situation into a killing, putting it simply it was a public execution and of course they got away with it.
