Central Park Confrontation Goes Viral, as White Woman Calls Cops on Black Man Over Dog Leash

“I’m calling 911 to say an African American male is threatening my life.”

You don’t see that as a teensy bit racist?

Let me guess—Trump supporter.
Really?

You can’t see the racism?

Not even a little bit?

LOL
Was he African American or not?

Is she a mysandrist for indentifying his gender as well?

You're both making assumptions based on your own bigotry.

"I pull out the dog treats I carry just for such intransigence"

And to what purpose? To bring the dog in from rampaging around?

You seem to believe it's something nefarious.

This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa

Why is that "good"?

The entire outcome seems pretty good and proportionate.

What's your problem with it?

No?

You can’t see the implied racism?

Are you trying at all?

It won’t hurt if you think a little bit. I promise.

How does her losing her job help anything?

He didn't ask her employer to fire her. None of us did. The employer saw the video and decided it doesn't want to be associated with her. If I wasn't self-employed, I'd expect the same thing to happen if I did anything that racist (that also played to racism). Don't think it's racist? Ask the Scottsboro boys. That's exactly what she was playing to with "an African American is threatening my life."

What are his choices?

A. He makes the video available, and other people make their own decisions based on it.

B. He keeps it out of public view, nobody knows it happened, and she ends up doing it to someone else over something else. One less instance of racism in the public knowledge.

I'm not crying a single tear over someone who responds to someone asking them to stop being an entitled brat, follow the rules, stop destroying bird habitats, and leash their damn dog by calling 911 and telling them "a black man is threatening my life."

And if the employer's reaction to seeing her disgusting behavior is to fire her, it's her problem. I can't imagine telling the police that someone was threatening my life if they were not.

If he feels very bad about her getting fired, then he can choose to contact her employer and lobby for her. Or speak about it publicly. Have a truth and reconcilliation commission for two. Those do seem to provide some measure of healing. But there's no reason to feel bad for a racist ****stain who could very well have gotten him killed with that report, had police shown up sooner.
Just because she said/did something racist doesn't make her a "racist ****stain." People do bad things all the time. It doesn't make everyone a bad person.

By labeling her a "racist" and cheering the fact that her life is destroyed is entirely missing the point, which is that this is only a story because an imbalance exists in the first place. Her actions that day were indefensible, but she was spot-on in recognizing that "I’ve come to realize especially today that I think of [the police] as a protection agency, and unfortunately, this has caused me to realize that there are so many people in this country that don’t have that luxury."

I suppose it's natural for white people to want to distance themselves from this woman, label her, and pretend that she's some sort of outlier, but for black people its just the sort of thing you have to deal with from time to time.

She's now lost her job over it apparently.

I mean she tried to have a black man murdered by police officers so I'm not feeling an awful lot of sympathy.

Also, she hurts dogs.

How does her losing her job help anything?

It's called consequences for bad behavior, for breaking the law, behavior that could have led to the death of the man who asked her to leash her dog.

Why does it need to 'help' anything? Maybe there is someone else just ready and waiting to fill her position?

Everyone is criticizing this woman for what she did.

Nobody wonders how a white person who wasn't even born in the US knows all they have to do to scare black people is call the police.

Yeah, she apologized but she also said "words are just words,' but those words could have gotten him killed. And he knew it, he referred to the Arbery case in GA.

Cool video, he's right about dogs off-leash and esp. in the Ramble. I used to be a park ranger in CP and lead bird walks and the Ramble, one of the most densely wooded areas in the park, is one of the best spots. It's also an area that can be very isolating and it used to be a huge meeting spot for gays. Used to lead nature walks in there for schools and families and you never knew what you were going to come across in there...all trees, winding paths, and giant Manhattan schist boulders.
Wonder why a woman who is so afraid would walk her dog in a densely wooded area

But it's also very pretty and feels like you are away from the city.

I'm more curious as to what some people would be saying right now had the races been reversed and it was a white man that threatened a black woman and how the media would spin that story. Both parties were in the wrong in this case and the idea that this is a national story is rather ridiculous.

Do you think she would of reacted differently if the guy wasnt black? If so, how?

I think the proper SOP is to shoot them and then claim you saw them trespassing somewhere.

Well it's good to know how you'd treat any minority if you were ever given a modicum of power.

Thanks for being honest with us at least.

Lol...you can’t be serious.

That’s a stupid statement. Black women aren’t dialing 911 to threaten white men who are shooting video of them. Try again.

Your sarcasm detector needs a tuneup.

I would bet dollars to donuts that the woman with the dog is just another NYC white liberal. Don't know for sure, but clearly her histrionic reaction to a man video recording her bad behavior seems typical of a liberal. She got caught with her dog off-leash in a part of the park reserved for bird watching and she didn't appreciate being called out for her bad behavior. So as if on cue she CLAIMS to be the victim in the incident. Only missing was her falsely screaming "rape" too.

Then she proceeds to call the police and make a false claim. Something that could have easily resulted in a police use of force incident gone wrong.

I'm glad she was fired by her company.

She's Canadian.

That part of the park is not reserved for bird watching, it's a regular part of the park, just more densely wooded than some areas.

Okay, then a liberal entitled Canadian dog owner.

It is an area where birdwatchers like to do their thing. In any event, dogs are not to be off-leash anyway. She clearly did not appreciate being called out for her bad behavior.
