After all, this is the guy who got hauled into Federal Court for Housing Descriminiation and signed a consent decree. And, in typical Trump fashion, violated it and wound up back in court.

My favorite Trump racist comment was when he told 4 female Congressional reps of color to "go back" to where they came from. Because, you know, Hispanics are all from elsewhere, and black women had to have been born in one of those ****hole African countries.

I suspect its more complex than that.

trump is "new money". He has never been accepted by "old money". His name carries no weight with them. They have never accepted him as one of their own. They rarely do include new money folks until their money gets old.

So trump set out to make his name resonate like "Rockefeller" or "Carnegie" in the minds of the tubes. Trying to brand himself into the upper upper class.

But that doesn't make him old money. In fact his reality TV, gold toilet, pro-wrestling barker nonsense made sure they would never accept him.

But he talks like they do: about "breeding", coming from good families, etc. All carryover bloodline stuff from monarchy days.

It is posing. He will never he one of them. His daughter didn't manage to catch one. Neither did either of his sons. All new money.

This chaps trump's ass no end. Probably the reason he ran for president in the first place. It's why he gets all giddy when someone of the status and power he dreams of having himself plays up to him. He doesn't care that they are dictators guilty of horrid crimes. They treat him as an equal although I doubt any consider him one. He's just temporarily the president of a country they have dealings with. There won't be any romantic encounters once he's out of office. Like all of trump's friends they're fake.

Thus is the heart of trump's rage. He doesn't measure up. He never will. He knows it.

And he gets furious at anybody who even hints at it.

We found out everything we needed to know the first time he spoke of himself in the third person.

I will have to pay attention to that now that you have pointed it out.

I didn't have you on the list yet of conservatives who don't just repeat stuff they heard in conservative media. Chapter and verse. No nuance. No divergence on any aspect of the message.

I enjoy those posters. I'm more conservative than it usually appears. I'm just an older white hat type.

Modern conservatives work for the cattle barons. I tend to come down on the side of the dirt farmers whose land they want.

Like the old movie cowboys. The heroes. Not the villains.

But like I said. If you clearly don't get your perspectives from conservative media I won't imply you do in future posts.

Use the same verbiage and imagery at the same time as all the usual supects and we'll revisit this.:2wave:

He heard someone talking about how having the wall would pay for itself and in a way it could he said that Mexico would be paying for it in a way in more jobs for Americans, less money being sent out of the country, more tax revenue, etc., and he heard "Mexico would pay for the wall", blurted that out during a speech, the crowd cheered, and it suddenly was a thing.

I have taken to trying to figure out what whoever he heard was actually saying when he heard something that sounded like it would make him look good and he came back from his happy place where everybody thinks he's as great as he does just long enough to remember that one sentence or idea.

Then he says it like he's expecting cheers and adoration from everybody. And gets mad as hell when everybody who isn't in his thrall treats him like the idiot he is.

It's kind of fun. Almost worthy of a thread.

Like "What did trump actually hear?"

Bonus points if you can cite a quote or video where he came upon what he misapprehended.

Same verbiage and imagery just means same translation....I don't get Fox News, I barely watch CNN, I might be able to get to PBS Newshour, but gotta go shopping tonight....so we will see.

Trump knows so little about the history of the country he represents. His world has been very small his entire life until he became president and he has done nothing to educate himself.

The same narratives are distributed throughout conservative media.

This is done because seeing the same thing in multiple apparently unconnected outlets causes the brain to accept it as true.

101 stuff for Marketing and Communications students.

It's why you'll see the exact same review of a product under different names on different sites.

It is this monolithic uniformity of message that results in "cult" comments.

So what I'm really looking for is nuance. Divergence from some aspects for whatever reason. Failure to defend every single thing trump says and does.

We don't see any real criticism of trump posted here from any conservative source. Only defense and cheerleading.

Personally I'd be OK with an occasional "Dammit trump!" Instead of a litany of of "So what had happened was" to the tune of Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me".

We'll see how this goes.

I won't make a judgement for a bit. Because I just told you what I'm looking for.

There is apparently some early research into drugs that act almost like he described. Inhalants to kill lung infections iirc.

He was likely pouting whike listening to the adults talk, heard part of that, needed a positive for his campaign conference, and regurgitated his mangled version.

Or he saw the video.

He did retweet a meme of him holding a fiddle with a caption about the virus. So he is pretty ignorant.
