Trump lauds notorious anti-Semite Henry Ford’s ‘good bloodlines’

Mr. Ford kept 50 investigators on the Ford Motor payroll to monitor employee homes for any hint of what he considered moral decay, riotous living, poor hygiene -- and boarders. The last taboo had sprung from his conviction that ''next to liquor, dissension in the home is due to people other than the family being there.''

He welcomed immigrants in his factories but expected them to quickly assimilate into the ranks with a nutty graduation ceremony involving a giant papier-mâché melting pot. While their families picnicked and a brass band played, they would climb into the pot garbed in their native costumes, singing their national anthems, and climb out wearing derbies and singing ''The Star-Spangled Banner.''

OFF THE SHELF; The Industrial Genius Who Hated Difference - The New York Times

Henry Ford never met a Jew until he was in his 30's, so he couldn't have known much about them.

He hired Jews. How much could he have hated Jews if let them work at his factories?

But yeah, he was a major anti-Jewish conspiracy nut. Jewish bankers were running the world and all that.

But I went out and got a circumcision to match my Ford...!!

What else is there to do than to match this hysterical hypocrisy with some sarcasm?

You'd say the same about Hitler?

They lived at the same time and both were condemned on this question by the standards of that same time.

He wasn't that condemned considering his company and his influence are still present today.

Re: Trump lauds notorious anti-Semite Henry Ford’s ‘good bloodlines’

I don't think anti-semitism is genetic. Further, the odds Trump knew he was an anti-semite are slim and none. Just really a non-issue here. With all the things Trump is doing wrong, why worry about minor **** like this?

Trump's belief in eugenics isn't minor. It guides his thinking. Everything he does flows from it. The expectation that we should allow the elderly and those with medical issues to die in order to reopen the economy is based on it. His immigration policy is based on it. The rise in anti-semitic violence is based on it.

Neo nazis exist. Ford's antisemitism was condemned, universally, in his time. Stop pretending the US were nazis.

do you really have to ask that question?

We need our daily outrage. Beats mingling with the unmasked.

Yeah, the President of the US talking about "good bloodlines" is to be ignored in today's Trump World. How can we notice blatant racism and monarchism from the President of the US when thousands of Americans are dying. No time.

Yes he was condemned for his anti-semitism at the time. His success in business and use of good technology at the time (conveyor belts) does not erase that.

Hitler's influence is still present today too, even with some posters on this very board.

I think all Trump ever does is pull **** from thin air. I don't think there is an announce of thought put into his words. Ignorance just happens to play well to white supremacists.

Suckers for natural charisma.

Which trump has in spades.

OMG, it's raining.

I think it is likely either coincidence or someone is feeding him lines to intentionally piss off people. How many people even know that about Ford? It is such an obscure and irrelevant fact that to know it would require someone actually looking into his past, I highly doubt Trump is going to pick up a book and study up on the guy.

Well, it is getting things in the news other than his gross incompetence in the first real crisis of his life during an election season.

So I wouldn't be surprised if some narrative manager fed him this for that very reason.

OMG, it's raining.

Too bad black people don't have any "good bloodlines" from the early 1900s, huh? Yeah, just white people were executives and rich then. So I guess black people's "bloodlines" don't count, do they?

That's one way it's racist. Can you think of any others?

Now, monarchist. Do I need to explain that one to you?

Any rational person would know his reference is to building Ford Motors. Just more people on the left always trying to make something out of nothing.

What does a bloodline have to do with that?

Might be snowing soon.

It is possible he was fed that line to change the news cycle away from his incompetence for a bit.

This thread does sound like a normal trump verbal screwup thread, doesn't it?

Any distraction for Dear Leader. "Nothing to see here."

I don't even think Trump means to be an enabler for this behavior, he just has no clue what he's saying most of the time. But it does seem clear who really likes Trump a lot, and mostly it's the Stormfronters.

lol

Lol. I love when people accuse someone of something, and then go on to commit the same in their the very next sentence.

Amazing how quickly people on the left go to race......and hatred.

Anyone mentions that it could be a nod to his business acumen, and building a company that lasted 100 years, and revolutionized an industry......is shout down as race-baiting bull****, and anyone who says it must be racist.

It's absolutely bat-**** insane.

He's the Reality-TV President. He does know how to manufacture drama and get ratings.

This thread is a good example of the cult using Trump to apologize for themselves. The cult dynamic in action.

Are you referring to the slave labor he used in his Germany factories. Yes, surely he loved them.
