A deadly attack at a Toronto erotic massage parlour three months ago is now being treated as an act of terrorism after police allegedly uncovered evidence it was inspired by misogynist incel ideology.

Charges against the suspect accused of carrying out the Feb. 24 stabbing attack, which killed a woman and injured another, were updated in court on Tuesday to "murder -- terrorist activity."

He was already facing first-degree and attempted murder charges, but the development means police believe the incident was terrorism-related.

Good to see the Toronto authorities call this incel what he is: A terrorist. That's exactly what the incel movement is.

One of the lies that incels keep telling each other is that it is hopeless for them to try to improve, that the system is rigged and there is nothing they can do about it. Which is total BS. Get a haircut, lose weight, improve your manners (that's a big one), whatever, but don't blame other people for your own shortcomings.

My own little blues band back in Minneapolis back in the 1970's was normally composed of a bunch of good looking blonde Viking types, with the exception of me, the swarthy Italian guy "imported" from the East Coast.
Yeah, all of us got more action than any of us could have even imagined, but for about a month we had to have a fill-in replacement bass player who was probably about six foot and 375 pounds, and he was NOT muscular, he was pear shaped, and BALD!

So let's review, shall we?
1. He's young and balding.
2. He was morbidly obese.
3. He was a [censored]-ing BASS PLAYER!! :lamo

And yet Mark the fill-in bass player was getting as much or maybe even MORE attention than we were!
Every single night there were at least two ladies eager to meet him and go off somewhere after the gig, I swear to God.
No, not all of them were ravishing beauty queens but at least a few of them were enough that I even was eyeballing them and so were a couple of the other guys.
Mark was an incredibly charming and funny guy who lit up a room anywhere he went.
And by the way, when our regular bass player returned, Mark announced he was headed from the Twin Cities to Los Angeles to take a job with Disney.

When I caught up with him fifteen years later, he not only remembered his time playing in "Citizen", he told me he married one of those girls and that they are still happily married.
And he's STILL a fairly big guy by the way, his wife is on him about his health so he's doing better but genetically speaking he will always be a big guy and that's that.

But he's certainly happy.

Succinct and to the point. Those who insist on not having fun - when there's plenty to be had if you look and just let yourself go - then blaming the world, my have an idea what they're missing, but no understanding of the fact they don't have to miss out at all.

I just read about a shooting in Arizona yesterday (3 people shot, 1 is In critical , the others are ok). The arrested shooter was attacking couples and police determined he was a part of the “incel” loser movement that I had never previously even heard of.

Why is this intel thing such a recent development? Where were these guys 30, 50, 70 years ago? You never hear about this happening in the past. Is the internet allowing them to connect with each other and work themselves up more, kinda like the racists?

The internet has allowed all kinds of different groups to find each other and rationalize and normalize their particular beliefs.

I've always assumed most were Down's Syndrome/Autistic types but I have never spent enough time caring to bother to research them.

Step one, having fun, is the most important step.
Knowing how to have fun is what lets you be fun.
People like to be around fun people.

Sex requires the intersection of motive and opportunity.
You don't have to worry about motive — people get horny all on their own.
You only have to worry about opportunity.
You need to be around someone when you two are both horny.
If you're fun, people will want to be around.
The more often they hang around, the better the odds they will be around when the two of you are both horny.
Two motivated (horny) people with an opportunity can usually figure it out.

It's a paradox because the internet has also removed some of the regionalisms.
The kids in New England have the same internet as the kids in the Southwest.
So, in that sense things are becoming more homogenized at the same time all of these smaller interest groups are also finding each other and getting more into w/e their nerdity is.

My uninformed guess is
Part of it is a narrative thing.

Until the incel narrative existed, there could be no incels.
They were probably just "shy" or "awkward" and treated their lives accordingly by seeking to adjust behaviors or w/e.

The incel narrative is that these folks are locked into a fated existence by w/e forces.
So, it's a narrative with fewer remedies than just acting "awkward".

Another thing I noticed about the incel narrative is that women seem to be treated as unthinking forces of nature rather than the dorks they are.
Women are just as dorky as men. They aren't men, but they're still dorks.
Women have as much of an internal dialog as men have.



I think I heard part of someone else's radio show and have seen a couple of threads about incels in other mbs.
I haven't done any research and may be way off base about what their thing is.

Maybe some mild Asperger, perhaps? I doubt it really, I'm not clinically trained.

Most likely any lack of social skills are to do with upbringing, surroundings, self-isolation and personality quirks. Many probably suffer from 'young man depression' which is often a chemical imbalance and passes in their twenties. But left untreated, either by professionals, better circumstances or a personal will to change it can fester.

Yes. Social isolation and the internet. Peer pressure and manipulative people often drive these folks to mutilate themselves. Best thing for incels is to get off incel forums.
