DOJ Drops Criminal Case against ex-Trump adviser Flynn

Your only argument is that Flynn admitted, confessed/plead guilty before judge and therefore go to prison.

Every man on this list admitted, confessed/plead guilty before judge and went to prison. But all of them were innocent and subsequently released. What the DOJ is telling the judge right now, is that significant mistakes were made in the investigation and prosecution of Flynn and that he is not guilty of the charges to which he pleaded and the case should be dismissed.

...which anyone with a functioning brain knows is complete bull****. But, I will say this. The partisan Right showing everyone how disloyal they are to the USA is a beautiful thing to see.

No matter how you guys slice it it's still baloney.

Baloney borscht.

No matter how you slice it, it's still the truth, a topic you are unable to grasp.

Let us hope the federal judge refuses to accept this and sentences Flynn to prison with him hauled off the same day in cuffs. Anything less than that means that there no longer is a rule of law in the USA and Trump is responsible for that.

...and you are wrong, again.

It didn't help their case when documents that came out showing the FBI was talking about purposefully trying to get him to lie, in effect admitting the FBI does perjury traps, and that they also didn't follow proper procedures when using Flynn's son as coercion to get him to plea to the charges.

We know for a fact these are the dirty tactics used by the FBI to coerce confessions and manipulate suspects in make misstatements.

If they will throw Martha Stewart in jail, they will throw anyone in prison.

Trump himself said Flynn had to resign for lying to the vice president about Flynn's contact calls with the Russian ambassador. FBI rightly believed Flynn's lie made the national security adviser susceptible to Russian Kompromat. So any Flynn lie to FBI about the Russian ambassador to include numerous matters Russian was material to the investigation. Live with it even though it leaves the Rowers with nothing.

Ok-- Flynn had to be fired. Thats fine. At best the man can't accurately impart information to his supervisors and that is not a good quality in a NSC director, I would think.

But there is no law against it.
The FBI can't just walk around and investigate people because they feel like. What do you think this is-- Russia?

Flynn compromised himself to your Russians. It hasn't ever been the job of the FBI to help Flynn to Houdini himself in a national security pinch that involved your Russia in any way. You're so wandering and desperate you're making statements a 5th grader would crumple up and toss.

Part of the problem here is that the FBI DIDNT think he was a security threat-- in the beginning of January they were moving to close the investigation they had on him.
As far as Flynn being compromised by Russia, a 5th grader should realize that as the USA knew what Flynn spoke about with the ambassador, it is laughable that somehow Flynn was compromised.

Really? So you agree with Haymarket that those men should have done their time in prison because they pleaded guilty in court to a judge? That's the USA you find beautiful?

Maybe the Right wingers can hold a music concert to aid him - Ted Nugent could be the main act and people can donate. I am sure Putin would make a sizable donation.

And Flynn will become immensely wealthy, as he should, at your expense.

I'm on the other side opposite of the Rudi Giuliani 'truth' that there isn't any of over there where Putin Trump & Rowers continue to paddle along.

What more do you need?

So why was Flynn investigated anyhow?
Its kind of important to answer that question, I would think.

Again that would be false as per the law.
In order for the FBI to investigate somebody, they need to have a good faith reason for thinking a crime has been committed or that the person represents a security threat in some fashion.
With Mr. Flynn, they had neither. So they can't turn around and say that the "lie" was with regards to a "material" fact of the investigation that had no real predicate for occurring.
Again, I don't know why a situation where the FBI can go around and interview people because they feel like, then charge somebody with a felony because they think a "lie" had occurred. Its not clear why that kind of situation is desirable for this country.

Yep-- and as above, there was no reason by the FBI to think there was a problem. After all, its not against the law to lie to the VP.

Yes he did-- and usually such a violation amounts the subject simply being asked to resubmit the documents.

A crime was committed by Flynn and Flynn confessed to it in court before a federal judge and admitted his guilt.

...and you are wrong, again.

Flynn admitted lying to FBI agents about his dealings with the Russian ambassador during the presidential transition and making false statements about Trump transition officials’ lobbying on a United Nations resolution condemning Israel. Flynn also acknowledged that he signed Foreign Agent Registration Act filings that contained false statements about his work on a lobbying and advocacy project related to Turkey. He did all this in court of his own admission before a federal judge.

I have no objection to Flynn being the recipient of right wing largesse in such a scheme.

Ten minutes to Wapner.

Nothing. You've made it clear your position is intractable. Have a good day

I am having a terrible day with the rule of law getting the equal of rape and assault in broad daylight by our Attorney General making political decisions to please his boss.

At the end of even that terrible day it remains true that Flynn admitted lying to FBI agents about his dealings with the Russian ambassador during the presidential transition and making false statements about Trump transition officials’ lobbying on a United Nations resolution condemning Israel. Flynn also acknowledged that he signed Foreign Agent Registration Act filings that contained false statements about his work on a lobbying and advocacy project related to Turkey.

Flynn did this in open court before a federal judge. That can never be changed.
