Coronavirus: Sen. Loeffler will sell all individual stocks


Sen. Kelly Loeffler of Georgia on Wednesday said that she and her CEO husband Jeff Sprecher will liquidate their individual stock share positions and related options after weeks of criticism of the couple for selling millions of dollars in stock amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Loeffler on Wednesday reiterated her defense of the prior stock sales as legally and ethically proper, and her claim that the couple’s trading was handled by third parties without her prior knowledge.

And she said that she and Sprecher, who is the chairman and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange, the company that owns the New York Stock Exchange, are selling off the individual shares not because she had to, but because she wanted to avoid further controversy.

While the shares of TSLA that I purchased at $361 through insider information on March 18 was not improper, I have decided to nevertheless liquidate all my TSLA shares today at $548. Thank you and I hope we can put this matter behind us now.

Was she alleged to have improperly profited on it? I thought that was the other guy. Blanking on the name now. Got briefed on what we could expect from COVID-19 before the public new, dumped a buttload of shares, then everything started crashing. If this isn't acting on secret info the public doesn't have yet in order to profit, I don't see what the problem is. Especially since selling shares during the downturn generally means losing money....

Dumped $19 Million in retail and other consumer related stocks and bought all the shares of medical and disaster related equities she could get her hands on. But, of course, she's innocent. ;)

Loffler senate seat is a special election here in Georgia. She was appointed to fill the seat of Johnny Isakson who retired in December of last year due to ill health. So we'll have a jungle primary on election day in November to determine who will fill Isakson seat. Every candidate will be on that ballot, all Republicans, all Democrats, all independents and the Libertarian candidate with the top two finishers going to a runoff scheduled for 5 Jan 2021 if no candidate receives 50% plus one vote. Which no one will.

Loffler won't make the runoff in my opinion. The latest polls show Republican Doug Collins at 36%, Democrat Raphael Warnock at 16%, Loffler at 13%, Democrat Matt Lieberman 11%, Democrat Ed Tarver: 3% with 13 other candidates making up the rest.

If this holds, Loffler isn't going to return to Washington, she won't even make the runoff. So all this huff and puff in reality means nothing.

My question is how far will Barr allow the FBI to go with all this? I believe the investigation is a fake and just their to shut everyone up until it all blows over. I just can't see Burr especially going on trial and doing some time. It just won't happen.

Yes, but loosing a lot less money than the general public. You could say he stemmed a huge loss by selling before the crash.

Sen. Perdue-GA-has worse problems than Sen. Loeffler. He’s heavy into DuPont, maker of PPEs. Started buying DuPont stock on Jan. 24, the same day he received a secret Intel briefing on CV-19.

Perdue continued buying stock until trump went public in Mid-March. Your governor continues to purge hundreds of thousands of Democratic voters.

Georgia Sen. Perdue has an even more interesting criminal story of insider trading. Bought DuPont stock, Jan. 24, the same day he received a secret Intel briefing. They make PPEs.

It gets worse everyday with these repukes. They now knew back to November 2019, yet cost tens of thousands of Democratic lives. The free media is our last guardrail.

To be purged here in Georgia, one must not have voted in any election during a six year period. That includes federal, state, local, school board, splosh, primaries, you name it. Then a notice is sent to the last known address, the address on file of the purge with instructions of what to do if you want to be kept on the voting register. Purging is done at the county level, voter register's office.

One other item, Georgia just registers people to vote. No party affiliation and no way of knowing who is or isn't a Republican, Democrat or independent or even a Reform Party Member or Libertarian, etc.

As for Perdue, there's been nothing on the news about him. They haven't even polled his race although there has been plenty of polling done on the special election, Loffler. That's all I know.
