Engineer tried to crash train into USNS Mercy in Los Angeles: Feds

There are some crazy people out there. Mostly conservative freaks.

Not like the Clinton supporter who shot over 100 LGBTs in Florida or the Sander's Marathon bomber or the Democrat who opened fire on Republican Congressional members at a baseball practice. THAT kind of Democratic leftwing crazy.

wonder where that fellow's paranoia could have been fed beliefs that the coronavirus is a hoax intended to deny tRump a second term?

The DHS and other organizations are becoming increasingly VERY concerned of domestic terrorism - particularly against government officials - for obvious reasons. The MSM is 24/7 claiming this is all the fault and continuing to worsen because of evil government. Listen to CNN and MSNBC - or listen to FOX. They all are declaring that 24/7 as FACTS.

Now you know what type of domestic terrorist threat the nation has been living under at the hands of conservative-leaning terrorist groups for the past few years....

My quibbling over semantics is just noting the MSM and authorities now like to exaggerate everything to the worst possible OMG! way they can find. He derailed a locomotive. A "train" is something much greater - leading to such as one poster on this forum on one of these threads posting hoping no one on the train was hurt. Report accurately, not exaggerating for sensationalism - and the government should do the same. Is it too much to expect accuracy - that always sensationalism and panic? This also leads to the people legitimately not believing the news or authorities.

Terrified people do not act rationally, particularly if already on the edge. Maybe he's in a divorce? Maybe with some bad medical condition. Maybe on drugs. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.

How do rioters burning their own neighbor businesses down accomplish anything in a protest against racial discrimination? Intense hatred and intense fear cause people to act irrationally. How is a soldier in first time combat pointing their rifle this way and that - but never pulling the trigger if an enemy is attacking rationally? It isn't rational. But by studying video footage from Vietnam - the first war with extensive video of actual combat situations, showed about 1/3rd of troops in first time combat under attack did exactly that. Why? They were terrified. Totally. Rationality gone.

Here's the thing though: the specifics of his delusion do not come from mainstream media, they come from right wing extremist message boards.
