Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

Hungary’s parliament handed Prime Minister Viktor Orban the right to rule by decree indefinitely, effectively putting the European Union democracy under his sole command for as long as he sees fit.

Dictatorships are back in fashion....

Just like here in America, we fell into dictatorship in less then a month and the so called “democrats” are shaming anyone who questions it.

Virtually every civil right in USA got suspended And the Medical fascists can’t articulate a single logical reason for it

Anyone else want to bet the "emergency" will now be permanent? Let's see how far Poland can go in supporting this.

We're not under a dictatorship, at least for now. Trump's a big fan of Orban - I bet you he wishes he could do what Orban has.

Uh yes we are. Go host a barbeque at your own house in Washington and invite 30 people. Tell me there’s no dictatorship.

And again no logical reason for it.

Is that what you think a dictatorship is - not being allowed to hold a barbeque?

I was barbecuing in my apartment building's yard yesterday. No one arrested me.

The world order is collapsing, in large part because the elite have for too long turned in very poor quality work.

They have also too often been found to be dishonest schmucks.

This is what comes from that.

BUCKLE UP!

The world order isn't collapsing. The "elites" are just people. Populism is dumb.

Dictatorships never went out of fashion, but democracy is becoming obsolete.

Putin Delays Vote That Could Help Keep Him In Power

Russian President Vladimir Putin says that because of the coronavirus pandemic, he is delaying a constitutional referendum that could allow him to stay in power until 2036. The vote had been scheduled for April 22.

What a surprise.

Truly shocking that none of you mentioned the origins of the pandemic being in a dictatorship country. The inability to criticize, and raise awareness was what caused coronavirus to spiral out of control. Xi Jinping however is the dictator that the left loves best.

<shaking my head> I don't understand how your post can display such ignorance!

Washington choir practice deemed 'superspreading event' after 45 members diagnosed with coronavirus

Sixty members of the Skagit Valley Chorale gathered together in Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church for their standard rehearsal on March 10. The group was aware of a few cases of coronavirus in the state, including the nation's first COVID-19 death on Feb. 29. Still, they agreed to meet.

Adam Burdick, the choir’s conductor, said in an email that the rehearsal could lift some of the “stress and strain of concerns about the virus."

Three weeks later, 45 members of the choir had fallen ill from the coronavirus, three were hospitalized, and two had died.

So you believe you an affirmative right from the government to not die from natural causes?

Is that your argument?

If so why don’t we just go into a state of emergency every year at flu season?

Some people are also making the disingenuous argument that we need to prevent the hospitals from being overwhelmed, which I guess the logical implication of that is that civil rights are irrelevant when private actors you can’t control didnt build enough private facilities to offer services,

So in any event, we are living under dictatorship.

The test of constitutionalism was supposed to be whether you would die for your freedoms.

Clearly for you, the answer is no

Orban is bad, because he is a nationalist leader of a Christian European country. We hate those.
Netanyahu on the other hand.... yeah, smell your own hypocrisy for once people.

Besides shouldn’t the story be out of 60 people only 2 died and only 5 were even seriously ill.

That’s a fatality rate of... 1 in 30 so like 3 percent...?

7500 people die in America of all causes every single day. Death is a fact of life

And if the left was just honest and admit this is exactly what they want, a centralized technocratic dictatorship with barely Democratic window dressing it would be less of an issue. But they called trump literally Hitler and a fascist when it turns out that’s what they were the whole time

Please understand I don't wish this on you or anyone - but for some people not to sound like idiots it's going to take a family member dying a painful death in front of them from Covid19 in order for them to see the wisdom of social distancing.

Yep, that's what I want. A dictatorship - thanks for setting me straight, friend!

I know people who’ve died paninful deaths from automobiles, you want to ban cars?

So what’s the limiting factor in your argument? What objective criteria renders one death something that society must affirmatively prevent at all costs with infinite resources versus an unfortunate fact of life.

Seemingly no one can answer that question.

That is a profoundly stupid argument.

By the same dumb logic, 7500 people die in America of all causes every single day. Death is a fact of life. Thus since only 5 people out of 100,000 are murdered in the United States every year, why do we waste resources investigating murder?

7500 people die in America of all causes every single day. Death is a fact of life. Thus why worry about air and water pollution, after all, something has to kill you. Death is a fact of life....

If Covid-19 kills 3 percent of the people that get it, then you could easily double the number of people that would die this year. State and local governments are not shutting down their economies because they want to exert some power over the citizens, they are doing it to avoid hundreds of thousands if not millions of deaths. It's not a conspiracy.

Life is a lot more pleasant of one tries to avoid lunatic beliefs.

It seems your problem is you are having a hard time identifying with the thought processes of people that have a conscience.

Cars don't cause deaths each time one gets near one, yet Covid19 infects almost everyone it comes near.

Your analogy fails.

No, what i want is for someone to explain how these radical powers that state officials are exerting will not be abused. And I frankly do not believe that local leaders don’t want to be little dictators. Just look at De Blasio yesterday saying if churches and synagogues (there’s a different kind of religious structure he didn’t mention) don’t stop services he’ll close them forever. He looks giddy announcing this.

And murder is different. Murder is an affirmative act by a person. Deaths from a disease are not.

Covid 19 doesn’t cause death to everyone it is exposed to. Your argument fails
