One of the problems is that outlets sometimes change their title on fast developing news but the rule is your thread title must be the "Exact same title as the cited article"

Edit: I got caught up in the edit one time on a developing story in which I quoted it in my OP and then they edited it so it looked to late comers like I was lying and the detractors who just didn't like the story because it didn't serve their partisan agenda went round and round and round with attacking me over it.

That isnt actually how the tolls in deaths from this work, saying "Dems hit hardest" simply because a majority Democratic state has had more deaths. Given the nature of deaths and ages of those who tend to vote for either Party, it is much more likely that Republicans will face a bigger hit in this area, with little regard to where the virus hits, which states have highest death tolls, what their majorities are. In fact, for states like New York and California, even Washington, they arent likely to lose enough Dems to deaths from Covid19 to change their political majority. However, for states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, or NC or some others, if they face higher death rates, it could cause a change in their EC lean to go to Dems without much change in voter turnout from last Presidential election.

Obama's government started working immediately on the situation, getting a working test out within 2-3 weeks of the onset of H1N1, including a model that could be replicated. He would not have told governors "you're on your own" if they needed help in procuring equipment. That 12k (it actually is closer to 13k) was over the entire year. We haven't hit 3 months from our first infection, and our deaths per day numbers likely have not hit a peak. If hospitalizations also haven't peaked, and we are already out of ventilators, this means that the death rate from this will also rise.

Now, Obama did have an advantage of a stockpile of equipment available for this sort of situation (and swine flu didnt generally need ventilators). Which is a failure on him and Trump to not have replenished.

Note also you didnt address what Obama's government, admin, health officials started right away, had up and running. Instead you went straight to blaming Dems on politicizing (something Limbaugh also did just a couple weeks ago). What did Trumps admin do besides keep those from China (but only those who were not US citizens) from coming in? Why was no one doing anything similar to what Obama's team did when they found out the first person here was sick?

Hind sight is 20/20, however there is valid critiques in saying that the right has politicized this far more than the left, particularly Trump himself (you can literally get ****faced playing drinking games off his first briefings/press conferences on this in just drinking anytime he blames someone, Dems or media, or touts his own horn on some random thing). He could have been doing what Obama did, and more to try to get the response started instead of downplaying it, acting like it would just go away.

Actually, Democrats politicians have been fairly restrained. Democrats in the media have not. Trump is Trump's only counter to the media. The media in America is truly evil.

We are still less than 100 days out from the first case in the US.

Trump within 2 weeks acted to contain the virus by restricting travel (he was labelled a Xenophobe) and has been acting since he took office to have an American supply chain rather than reliance on China and others. Pelosi was pushing legislation 2 weeks ago to limit Trump's ability to restrict travel. She used the crisis this week to push her agenda.

I will take your word Obama did an outstanding job. 40 million or so got sick 12000 or so died. America barely remembers. Why is that? Did we learn anything? Appears to me CDC was totally flat footed.

Show where Dems in the mainstream media have legitimately politicized this virus, and yet Trump hasn't.

Trump blamed Dems politicians, not just the media. Trump has used every single opportunity in front of the camera or on twitter to try to boost his own ego, repeating tired comments on the economy and unemployment (that are usually wrong or exaggerated). He has politicized the use of China Virus vice Covid19 or coronavirus to expand his political fight against China, even after almost everyone else, except hacks, have switched to covid19 or coronavirus or even SARS2. It isnt countering when you start the BS and people point out that you need to take the virus seriously.
