Spit On, Yelled At, Attacked: Chinese-Americans Fear for Their Safety

Look at Frenchman Juicy Smollete'e experience? Thugged out by Nigerian White supremacists wearing MAGA hats and hanging Frenchmen with clothe lines.

Screaming "racism" is big business nowdays. Unless the victims white.

Actually, "conservatives", including their dear leader, have been claiming Trump has something like 50% black support now. So maybe they ARE Trump supporters...;)

Defo not Bernie Bros.

If you check out the videos posted so far of the attacks on Asians in the US they have all been perpetrated by minorities. NOT your typical 'Trump' supporter.

For some strange reason, when the left continues their pathetic racist scree, they always avoid the actual acts of violence and who is committing them.

Hate crimes are up since Trump was elected, which is the primary point. It doesn't matter who in particular is perpetrating them, there are simply more of them.... When the President goes out of his way to blame a country, and by extension, a people, it does little to reduce the number of hate crimes.

As has been shown in this thread, there have been many 'hate crimes' perpetrated...and they have nothing to do with this president. Similarly there have been MANY reported hate crimes including murders against trans people...and guess who is committing those acts as well. And of coruse, that doesnt even begin to address the large number of fake hate crimes reported that have turned out to be all bull****.

Its not shocking that all those cities that reported hate crimes are liberal/leftist cities. "The cities that recorded decade-high hate crimes include Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, Dallas, Austin, San Francisco, Fort Worth, Seattle, Washington, D.C., Louisville, Sacramento, Miami, New Orleans, and Cleveland."

You should check your shoes. You stepped in your own ****.

I stepped in nothing, but I did step over you. Unlike you, I actually brought evidence to my assertion. My assertion was not a shallow and idiotic notion that because cities have Democratic mayors that somehow what happens in the city can be aligned to a political party. That is inference and un-intellectual (hence, not an argument)

The hate crime issue is far more complicated than that. You should be sufficiently sophisticated to know such. Moreover, you should understand that when Trump blames China for the current crisis that some idiots are going to act out on Chinese Americans. That is why adult presidents never do such things.

Note that one of the items I posted was a particular academic work that specifically addressed the issue of what is known as the Trump effect. It found:

Abstract

This Essay empirically evaluates the relationship between Donald Trump’s rise to power and the recent increase in reported hate crimes. A number of critics predicted that President Trump’s divisive rhetoric during the presidential campaign and his subsequent election would embolden hate crime perpetrators, thereby contributing to more hate crimes. Media commentators have dubbed this the Trump Effect.

We find compelling evidence to support the Trump Effect hypothesis. Using time series analysis, we show that Donald Trump’s election in November of 2016 was associated with a statistically significant surge in reported hate crimes across the United States, even when controlling for alternative explanations. Further, by using panel regression techniques, we show that counties that voted for President Trump by the widest margins in the presidential election also experienced the largest increases in reported hate crimes..."

So, if you don't want others to ruin their shoes, I suggest you stop leaving your **** on this thread. Study up. You up your game and the game will be played at a better level.

Yes, conservatives demonize trans people as well. Thanks for mentioning that.

Theres been plenty of evidence in this thread. The videos of the 'hate crimes' have been posted...you just dont want to talk about them. The trans bashing and murders are known....you just wont addr4ess them. The fake hate crimes are well known...you wont address them.

As for your evidence...be honest...you know less than dick about what is in the articles you cited. You post reading opinion pieces that offer confirmation bias. If you HAD read them you would have read that "hate crimes have increased in every presidential election year since national FBI record keeping began in the early 1990s." You would also have read the apex of the hate crime increase was actually in 2015...2 years before Trumps inauguration and before he had even committed to running. But then you would have had to see the opinion pieces for the biased pieces of **** that they are. Mind you...you would have still posted them.

There the absence of “round-eye syndrome!”

After 9/11 a turban would set folks off.

The desperation of the Democratic Party to scream racist at everyone never ends - just like the desperation of white male Democrats to pretend they're not white never ends. Otherwise, how do you get to play the victim card?

So, they're being treated a lot like people wearing MAGA hats.

Never underestimate the ability of trump supporters to make themselves out to be the victims in any situation.

It's just another Orange man bad thread; ssdd.
Poor anti-Trump grumps, always playing the victim.

These people are borderline retarded

No one is going around being mean to people of Asian or Chinese heritage.

Liberals just assume others MIGHT act like THEY do, they're wrong... and stupid.... nothing new.

It is odd really. Everyone but them ignores the idiocy now because they know it's just that, idiocy.

Racist this, bigot that yadda yadda blah

Curious. Is there a historical precedent in which blaming a race or ethnicity for a national disaster ended badly? Because I can't think of one. I guess we're just going to have wait for one of our resident history nerds to step in and answer that question.

Spit On, Yelled At, Attacked: Chinese-Americans Fear for Their Safety - The New York Times

question....are any of these cases of assault documented? or are we just to take anonymous people at their word here?

They have a lot of misplaced anger because Trump is in the WH.
Anything that is wrong in the world is his fault. They are so desperate to take back power, they are now scouting the leftist blogs for outrage.

Racism, Resistance, Russia
Lather, rinse, repeat.

It's the redneck way, hold all Chinese people responsible including those who do not live in China and suddenly slow down drinking Corona just because of the name.

"Why, cause 'merica!"

Yep, because San Francisco is simply overrun by rednecks......

Wow who would have thought there are stupid racists and bigots still in the world! Sad that it happened, but it happens many times daily to all sorts of people.

And it happens more when a certain orange buffoon opens his yap to pwn the pc police.

Two views that can be held simultaneously:

1. For Trump to insist on "Chinese virus" is dumb and unhelpful. At this point, we have a name for it is very widely used and reasonably accurate.
2. What Trump calls the virus is not the reason for these people, who are too dumb to live if the reports are true, to be aggressive toward people of East Asian ancestry. Their own stupidity and nastiness is a perfectly adequate explanation.

I remember when everything wrong with the world was Bush' fault. Now it's Trumps.

When we get a dem in the whitehouse, all will be perfect and well, no matter HOW bad things get - remember the obama years ?

Now TRY to imagine the ____ we went though in those years, if Trump or Bush was in the whitehouse !! Scary...

They are

Like mad 3 year olds, screaming & yelling, throwing a tantrum... it's gotten so regular and boring though. I question how long they really imagine this childish behaviour might work for them ?

No one of even moderate intellect is going to be mean to asian people due to where the virus originated.

That it originated in China, is only of minimal relevance, corona viruses are all over the world & always changing their genetic sequencing, wherever they are.

Never underestimate the ability of trump supporters to make themselves out to be the victims in any situation.

Also to just flat out deny that things happened that make them look bad.
