Erik Prince, Blackwater founder and Betsy DeVos’ brother, recruits ex-spies to infiltrate liberal groups — including campaigns and unions - Chicago Tribune

This reminds me of when Gov. Ehrlich (R) of Maryland used local law enforcement to infiltrate "dangerous", "possible terrorist groups" like those opposed to the death penalty and other peace activist groups. Yes, that actually happened.

Look, we all know that campaigns spy on each other to gain the upper hand. And while the ethical and morals behind this is pretty much doesn't exist, it isn't illegal as long as it is done in a legal fashion. And that is where Project Veritas, who directly benefits from this activity, comes in as they often act in an illegal manner to get their footage...and further create problems for themselves when they edit the footage to their agenda and often purposely mis-represents the organization they are "investigating".

Yes, yes, yes...you keyboard cowboys can ease up on the whole "Obama used the IRS..." or other similar arguments. It still doesn't make right ethically and morally then or now. And that's my point.

And it should scare you that this is most likely being done on Prince's own hook. That's right, you heard me, I am not directly blaming Trump or accusing him of giving Prince the order or the money to do it. That has yet to be revealed and to be honest, given what Prince used to do, what DeVos attempts to do for the rich concerning education and the fact that their family is insanely wealthy...I do believe they are acting on their own, for their own self-interests...and helping Trump as it benefits them. The worst, at this point, that Trump can be accused of is taking this information.

Now, again, as long as it is done legally...there is no legal problem here. Just a complete abandonment of any so-called morals and ethics they claim to have. Unless they are doing it illegally, in which case Trump and his administration could be found in the wrong.

Jason Warfield:

Privately owned surveillance and intelligence gathering has been ballooning in size for 25 years. It's time for a new Pinkerton's Act to shut this crap down.

Cheers.

From the grave, J Edgar Hoover says: Been there, done that, got the T-shirt!

COINTELPRO. Hoover did that to the Klan, the Black Panthers, MLK's group, Anti-Vietnam war groups...pretty much any Leftist-loving group.

Doing hidden video recordings used to be part of investigative journalism but laws have been restricting that, and that has been the only thing "illegal" Veritas has done.

Remember when the Obama admin wire tapped the Trump campaign and used spies on them?....like actual government tools.

The FBI did the same thing to the Trump camp in 2016.
