Trump Campaign Sues New York Times Over 2019 Opinion Article

oh I know I am better as a person than he is. I don't rape 13 year old children.

I know horses who are better people than Donald Trump is.

LOL! All objective evidence indicates that he's terrible at his job, having lost more money than any other individual in the history of the United States, multiple bankruptcies, he's so incompetent he couldn't make money with casinos, nothing but shuttered failures (airline, vodka, steaks, etc..) and he's been found by federal courts to be a fraud, ala twump U.

Sad that our current POTUS is such a crining whore.
So Trump is broke from all his business failures, huh? Okay.

Something tells me he's used to it, but he can't help himself.

I think it is important that we point out flawed arguments on this forum. Truth matters. Facts matter.

Trump did welcome the Russian help and promised Putin he would remove the sanctions if he won. That's one reason Flynn is going to jail. Why do you have to make the simplest of cause and effect events and twist them like a pretzel? If Congress had not acted the Russian sanctions would have been gone his first month in office. Trump has never stopped trying to get the blame for election meddling removed from Russia because then he could claim the sanctions were unjustified and get the Senate to remove them. You can be sure Putin mentions those sanctions every time they talk.

Congress didn't legislate the sanctions until the spring 2017. Meanwhile, Trump never lifted them when he had the authority.
Flynn wasn't convicted because he discussed the circumstances for lifting sanctions. He we convicted for lying about it.

He didn't lift the sanctions because he couldn't. Senate Republicans told him so and then backed it up with a bill. Trump is still trying to find ways to do as he promised to Putin. That is what Barr was jetting around the world for. To find some way of absolving Russia for the election meddling that brought the sanctions.

"Fake News" need not be libelous. Trump is suing for libel, quite another issue,

Trump is alleging libel over the following article, which is a NY Times opinion piece:

Opinion | The Real Trump-Russia Quid Pro Quo - The New York Times

It’s an opinion, not news. It’s a real opinion, not a fake one. But, it’s not news at all, let alone “fake news”. Here’s an article on the difference between news and opinion, for your edification:

Politically, Trump probably could not have lifted sanctions prior to the legislation.
And that was because of the political damage that was caused to Trump due to the unwarranted claims that he had conspired with Russia to fix the 2016 election.

Under the headline:
The campaign and the Kremlin had an overarching deal: help beat Hillary Clinton for a new pro-Russian foreign policy.

By Max Frankel

Does that sound like opinion to you? It's a positive statement.
