Lacking the ability to peer into alternate realities and time lines, I must sadly report that I'm unable to see which of the two tyrants ultimately offered the Cuban people a better outcome.

Well on that note Trump did the same with Putin.

However, I dare say this is one of the things I like about Bernie, that he doesn't back down from comments he stands by just because it might help him win Florida. There are some aspects of the way Cuba is run that he agrees with such as health, social and literacy programs. You can like those without liking the regime. Mussolini made the trains run on time after all.

We'll see how this plays out - whether Cuba and the Castros are as enduring a lightning rod as they were decades ago - but yeah it doesn't look good for South Florida.

Harvey Weinstein made some really good films. His last one, Wind River may have been in the Oscar mix, if it wasn't released by Harvey Weinstein.

That a tyrant, such as Mussolini, had the trains running on time is no excuse for praise, and there are no excuses for praising Castro.

I wonder if there's a term for Reductio ad Weinsteinum now...he financed films, he was hardly the creative force behind them.

Bernie had a point to make about the things that work in Cuba and wisely stayed silent on the things that don't. Now Trump on Putin - he praised him literally for being a strongman who suppresses his population and press. He praised E[stein for liking girls 'on the younger side'. Get us a tape of Bernie praising Castro for jailing dissidents and you win the internet.

Your second paragraph, to me, says Sanders is no different than Trump. I agree with that.

frame of when they will get them back.

I know because i know people that use to live there. It is a nightmare.
If you want a fan or an window AC (only a few people can get those) then you
have to go before the housing authority and tell them that you need one. if you are lucky
and have been a good cuban you might get lucky and get a fan.

If you want to change homes you have to go to the housing authority and ask and state why you need
to change. if they deem it valid and if you have been a good cuban then they will allow you to move.

Yes. It was and is disgusting when Republicans do it. It is disgusting when Democrats (or Democratic Socialists turned Democrat for that matter) do it.

And if it is all realpolitik or economic considerations for you and what you think a politician will deliver for your bottom line and nothing else, fine. But do not claim Bernie Sanders is a Republican's moral better.

First Leo, let me thank you for replying. I consider it an honor. the problem I'm having is I'm not seeing Sanders "tut tutting atrocities" as you stated. I'd also have to ask "what atrocities"? And the thing is when Castro kills people, that's on him. when Bautisa, Saddam or Guatemala do it with our approval and support, that's on us. And not for nothing, you seem to be "tut tutting" Reagan being complicit with Saddam's actual atrocities. so sorry, Sanders is morally superior to republicans.
