Republican Party sending mailer labeled census ahead of official forms | TheHill

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is sending fundraising mailers in California and other states that look like the official U.S. census, a move critics worry will confuse people and skew actual census results.

I’m on the east coast and got one of these a few weeks ago. It is made to look like an official government document, but some of the questions and the request for money give away the scam. This is akin to telemarketers taking advantage of senior citizens and the under informed people out there.

Doesn’t speak well to the RNC’s opinion of voters.

To management: Why do apostrophes generate gibberish in original copy?

I got one too and I live in New England, this article comes from Florida. It's just one more disturbing dirty trick that the GOP used to steal votes.

Here's a fact. Republicans cannot win unless they cheat.

The Republican Party is sending '''deceptive’ census forms nationwide, including in Florida: Report

Just as the 2020 U.S. Census count is about to begin, the Republican National Committee is sending people across the country a letter it confusingly labeled as a “2020 Congressional District Census.”

Like the census, the piece of mail includes a survey. But unlike the official decennial questionnaire the federal government will soon send out to millions of Americans, this one is asking for donations to the GOP and a loyalty pledge to President Donald Trump. And it’s “Commissioned by the Republican Party,” according to the form, not the U.S. Department of Commerce.

A Democratic Party spokesman called the GOP mailers "reprehensible” and “intentionally deceptive,” according to the Los Angeles Times, which reported on the letters Friday after they arrived in California mailboxes.

This is not illegal apparently, but it's just one more example of the type of dirty tricks the GOP has used for decades, going all the way back to Manafort, Stone and Atwater, the original trio of 'dirty tricksters'

Warning issued after RNC sends '''imitation census''' mailers to boost Trump re-election in Montana - ABC News

Warning issued after RNC sends 'imitation census' mailers to boost Trump re-election in Montana
Mailers circulating in Montana are read "2019 congressional district census."

A mailer circulating in Montana labeled "2019 congressional district census" notifies voters "you have been selected to represent voters in Bozeman, Montana," with an enclosed letter that reads, "President Trump has requested that a Census of every Congressional district be conducted immediately."

But the form, one of many sent to residents in at least four counties across the state, is not for the official U.S. census.

Fine, we are registered I, so we don't get mail or calls

Poor Democrats and anti-Trumps, always feeling like the victim... :giggling:

“This type of clearly marked mailer has been utilized by both parties for years. The package as a whole looks nothing like the U.S. Census and is clearly a fundraising solicitation paid for by the Republican National Committee.”

It is true that isn’t the first time a political party has sent out a fundraising mailer disguised as a survey. In 2018, the Democratic party attracted negative attention for mailing a survey that was really a fundraiser. The practice is so common, the Baltimore Sun reported, that there’s a name for it: Fund-Raising Under the Guise of Research, or FRUGing.

“It’s using a survey to engage folks to think about issues in a way that would compel them to donate money. It’s common practice,” Mileah Kromer, director of Goucher College’s Sarah T. Hughes Field Politics Center, told the Sun in 2018."

Did GOP Send Out a 'Fake Census' Asking for Campaign Donations?

You poor cultists can never seem to avoid stepping on that rake your Dear Dirtbag keeps putting in front of you:

and

Maybe you like to get whacked in the face by your Dear Leader? Self-abasement is a cult feature, after all.

LOL! Last years new called for you. Didn't leave a message as to why you can't address this new development.

Context, as usual, escapes the poor little anti-Trumps.

Context? What could your imaginary "context" be that makes this anything but what it is? Take your time to consult other Dirtbag Cultists on that if you need to.

Sorry you embarrassed yourself so thoroughly again.

Just when one's tempted to give them the benefit of doubt that they can't possibly keep doing so they do it again. But, in fairness, one key element of cult indoctrination is to destroy the ability to feel embarrassment or shame.

There is no lower limit to what the MAGA death cult and its god will do.

Why don't you? You're apparently so obsessed with the "Dirtbag Cultists," consulting with them might be fun for them. :)

Well, you are a fascinating aberrancy of humanity but it doesn't rise to obsession. It's more of a clinical interest.

The context is obviously that Your Dear Dirtbag's emotional development stopped at age 3 years. He's really telling us how he got everything he wanted after that age to today. He's such a psychiatric jumble of disease. On the one hand, he's a pathologically lying malignant narcissist -- but his other condition, organic brain disease, means that from time to time he can't even stop himself from revealing exactly what a sick puppy he is and always has been.
