Trump tries new approach for $1 trillion infrastructure plan

It’s not the dems. It’s the Republicans that are the problem. Read the article:

"Last year, for example, Trump and Democratic congressional leaders temporarily agreed to work toward a $2 trillion infrastructure plan that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said “would be big and bold.” But that disintegrated as House Republicans raised concerns about cost, Trump declared a new North American trade deal a higher priority and Democrats pursued impeachment."

Vote Democrat, and get this done!
Worked on, decided it was to expensive - who'd a thunk.

over 90% of the Trump coverage on Corporate TV is negative, and also deeply dishonest often....pure Trump Hate Propaganda.
Trump is both negative and dishonest, far more than any coverage about him. One only needs to read what he has said since being in office to see that.

Trump is not someone that should be admired. There is no truth in saying that people lie about Trump all the time. While some do lie about him, most of what is put out is easy to verify as either facts or a very legitimate opinion based off of who Trump is, his personality. It doesnt matter if he is giving some people what they want, he absolutely does lie, a lot, and he is very much dividing this country even further than it already was. There is very little good about Trump.

I claim that you lack understanding, that you have made a mistake.....but so far as I know you and I share the same goals....so when I keep finding you kicking me in the nuts I am not thrilled.

Might we go have a caramel together? (Good Will Hunting)

If the Dem House won't right the spending bills there's not Trump can do about it.

The GOP had control of the house, the senate and the presidency for 2 years... Why was there no infrastructure bill then?

When exactly did republicans have 60 votes in the senate. The number needed to get something done. If the answer is NEVER would the above be considered a lie by a factchecker?

Good lord... now they need 60 senators to get anything done? They didn't have a problem passing a tax cut. Why was an infrastructure spending bill so hard? The excuses never end...

DOA due to the Pandemic and the depression that follows.....

It can’t be DOA.

It never was arrived in the first place. Not by Trump. Not by anyone in the GOP.

There will be no infrastructure bill from this Administration. They are neither competent enough to assemble a viable proposal, and they’re too indifferent to the actual job of governing to even try.

Disagree... It will come right after Trump's health plan arrives..

Where have you been? That has been the case for two decades. The GOP was the first to accelerate the use of the procedural filibuster to stop legislation by filibustering the debate, so the bill never makes it to the floor.

The GOP ramped up the use of the filibuster all through the 2000’s. When the Democrats lost in 2010, they wound up stuck using the same tool.

The only health plan that matters is how to keep the most Americans alive we can during a pandemic, when our medical system is completely reliant on the Chinese Communist Party wanting to help us out.

Maybe Bernie can help!

Trump tries new approach for $1 trillion infrastructure plan

"As a presidential candidate in 2016, Donald Trump promised a $1 trillion infrastructure plan that would use tax incentives to spur private investment in public works projects.
He has so far failed to persuade Congress to pass anything like that."

"Since outlining his budget proposal last week, Trump has done little to promote his new infrastructure plan. A politically divided Congress has no obligation to consider it. In fact, Trump’s prior infrastructure proposals all stalled, even when Republicans controlled both the House and Senate."

"Some Republicans already are lowering expectations. ‘The Republican House version of the bill won’t be a trillion dollars, I can tell you that right now,’ said U.S. Rep. Sam Graves, the ranking GOP member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. It will be a lot farther south than that.’ "

Are you tired of lip service from Trump? Let’s get this done - vote Democrat in November!

Yeah various emperors of Rome also did many Infrastructure projects

Well... ya ... know....

Disagree... It will come right after Trump's health plan arrives..

And when it does, it will be almost as hair brained as their scheme to build nuclear reactors in the Middle East, or buy Greenland, or their Middle East peace plan (the one with the tunnel).

And no matter how obviously half baked it is (in the unlikely event it ever does) it will be riddled with pre packaged opportunities for graft for Trump cronies and hangers on.

And the talk radio deplorables will defend it till they’re hoarse!

Trump is working on that.

If he succeeds, get ready for much higher premiums.

I heard that obamacare was imploding even before Trump took office(LOL)

Then, he even said it's imploding(LOL)

And till this very day, it's imploding(LOL)

democrats have been crying about infrastructure for years.

they have a president that wants an infrastructure bill and they refuse to pass it. so why should we vote for do nothing democrats?

It would be good if people who came to a debate politics site understood the rules of the Senate.

If Trump wanted to be a unifier, he would have proposed this way back in 2017. Infrastructure improvements enjoy bipartisan support.

But Trump has zero desire to unify this country that he has ripped further apart. :(

he did Pelosi refused to vote on a bill. he has tried several times to get an infrastructure bill.

house democrats are too busy with baseless impeachment hearings to do anything.

Obama seemed to have no trouble getting Congress to pass an infrastructure plan in 2009.

I don’t know why you think Congress members wouldn’t want new roads and bridges in their districts.

you mean all those shovel ready jobs that didn't exist?

the tax cut was done via budget reconciliation. which is why it is not permanent. democrats hate tax cuts for working people.

Please show us the bulls the president proposed.

Please cite the infrastructure bills that were stopped in the senate.
