[W:169]Russia Is Said to Be Interfering to Aid Sanders in Democratic Primaries

There is no criminal charge in USC of "colluding", it is like asking me to show Manafort was charged with breeding unicorns, the statute does not exist. But, he was acting, as was bone spur, in the interests of Putin, ie the removal of sanctions.

Read Mueller's indictment of 13 Russian nationals for election meddling - CNNPolitics

Prove that Russia and Manafort did anything in any way to influence the election.

You are confusing your subculture for general american culture (which isn't generally conservative or liberal). This is a mistake most conservatives make when they talk about how things are viewed in society.

What??????????????

You really need to stop propagating the false narrative about the Steele dossier since very little of what was contained in the dossier was actually used by the Special Counsel in their investigation. Subsequent to a thorough investigation, at least 17 Russian military intelligence officers were indicted. Their indictments had little to nothing to do with the Steel dossier.

Russia interfered, period, end of discussion. And Trump was told they did and shown proof of their interference. Yet, he still believed PUTIN!!

Russia interfered.
Trump did not conspire in the effort.
The Steele dossier was anti-Trump info from anonymous Russian sources.
Was that also part of Russian interference?

It wouldn't surprise me if it was. Putin's intent is to disrupt and cause chaos among Americans. If Americans don't trust their own military and intelligence services and are kept busy fighting each other, then they don't have time to unite together to stop Putin's goals.

Wouldn't you think that having knowledge of Russia's interference would have prompted any presidential candidate to warn Russian to stop interfering in the election? Bernie Sanders just did that last week, warned Russia to cut it out when he was warned that Russia was working to help get him elected as the democratic candidate. He told them in no vague or uncertain terms to stop their interference immediately. Why didn't Trump do the patriotic thing in 2015 by strongly publicly warning Russia to stop interfering?

Wouldn't you also think that since the Trump campaign was already under surveillance for collusion with Russia that Don Jr. shouldn't have been so eager to take a meeting with them at Trump Tower? Don't you think that at the very least the optics of that don't look good on the surface? Doesn't that make the campaign look even more suspicious of cooperation with Russia? Shouldn't it have been the patriotic thing to do to strongly reject any help from a U.S. foreign adversary, one that has the best interests of Russia in mind not the best interests for a democracy?

Wouldn't it have made sense not to invite the two top Russian spies into the Oval Office just one day after firing the U.S. Director of the FBI then brag about it and share a big laugh with the two Russian spies over it?

No, Trump did not 'conspire' because he's too stupid to come up with conspiracies on his own. He allowed himself to be used by Russia, he went along with it, he cooperated with it. In my book, that's nothing short of being a traitor to this country.

Trump jr shouldn't have had that meeting and and the optics were terrible about that Oval office meeting.

But the Clinton campaign and Obama Admin accepted (uncritically and cooperatively) the document from Mr. Steele with its anti-Trump information from anonymous Russian sources. And the Obama Admin had the security and intelliegence agencies at its beck and call; the Trump campaign knew nothing of foreign affairs and foreign intrigue.
By any standard, the Clinton campaign and Obama Admin were far more gullible and were deceived to a much greater detriment to the country.

Christopher Steele was a respected MI6 officer for many years, he was in charge of the Russia desk in the UK. He had many contacts and moles inside the Russian intelligence. He was a natural resource to tap for any type of Russian interference in our election. You're trying to equate a British intelligence officer with direct contact from the Trump administration to Putin. No, it's not even close to being a fair comparison, not in the least.

Mr. Steele was played by Russian intelligence. They were feeding him with anti-Trump information at the same time they were trying to feed the Trump campaign anti-Clinton information.
Steele took the information; the Trump campaign did not.
The Obama Admin used the information.

You're right, but there is no valid reason why the meeting should not have taken place, apart from being a waste of time. Just because the Leftists want to claim it was wrong certainly doesn't make it so.

He'd been working with the Russians for years and hated Trump. I doubt, with his experience, that he was duped. He knew exactly what he was doing and got paid handsomely for it.

That's not what the poster is claiming at all. Steele sold a phony Dossier to Clinton and the DNC and it was later used by the FBI and DOJ in FISA applications. That's now being investigated.

He didn't sell a phony dossier to anyone. He was paid to do the investigative work with his Russian contacts. He worked with many of them to compile the dossier, some of them were reliable and gave good information and some were not. In reality, the Special Counsel used very little of the Steele dossier at all.

That's very wrong. The phony Dossier was used in all the FISA applications and stamped as "Verified".
