Trump says Russia supporting his reelection 'another misinformation campaign'

Trump says Russia supporting his reelection 'another misinformation campaign' - Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday said on Twitter that the idea that Russia wants him to win re-election was “another misinformation campaign” launched by Democrats.

Trump’s tweet followed media reports that intelligence officials warned U.S. lawmakers last week that Russia was interfering in the 2020 campaign to help Trump.
========================================================
Russia help Trump sew discord in the U.S.? Who would even think of such a thing.

I heard from some other source that the Russians prefer Senator Sanders more now.

Helix is wrong, of course. The Dems are going to sweep this fall.

$10 donation to the forum in the winners name you are wrong. You are, of course, defining "sweep" to mean Democrats take the WH, the Senate and the House, correct?

I heard from some other source that the Russians prefer Senator Sanders more now.

Prefer as the Democratic nominee, not as President. With Sanders as the nominee, a man so far left very few Independents would vote for him, it helps assure a Trump reelection. It's good gamesmanship on the part of the f***ing Russians. :)

Well, it should be noted that the Obama Admin suspected Mr. Trump was active conspirator in the Russian efforts and structured their investigation along these lines.
I would think that was not in the best interests of the USA. Trump is correct in questioning the leadership of IC during the Obama years.

Certainly, many people used the false narrative of collusion as a political weapon -- that is to say, they used the Russian operation to score political points against their politcal opponents.

And Obamas Intelligence community was 100% correct!!!

That is why trump keeps firing them and replacing them with unqualified stooges...

Athanasius68
LOL-- you spent the last three years weaponizing Russian disinformation against your political opponents.
And you still won't give it or see that you were snookered.

A. No, I haven't. To assert that I have is to admit to lying.
B. All intelligence agencies and the Senate itself confirmed exactly what I've been saying.
C. You are proof positive that Russian disinformation is working.
D. You lose, again.

Athanasius68 is wrong, period. I believe that Athanasius68 is deliberately involved in Russian disinformation based on all of A's postings.

Wow, now that is delusional right there.

Wow didn't read it did you.

It blows all the lies about the dossier being fake...

In fact later I'm going to start a thread of its own.

I don't see any going back now. That doesn't mean that they'll stop winning, though. The Democratic party is often a wet towel at a gunfight.

I'm not sure of what you mean. Do you mean the Republicans have painted themselves into a corner, tied their fortunes entirely onto Trump's coattails and, if he goes down, they all go down together?

Agreed on the Democrats. They most certainly do not have the best interests of all Americans at heart.

While I agree the intelligence community was 100% correct, they weren't "Obama's". Most were there when Obama was still a community organizer. :D

The Trumpeteers like to claim they were Obama's, but that's just to taint the results which Trump doesn't like.

That is so clearly obvious, if waders is the nominee the Russian propaganda machine will just be a nonstop attack on his socialist views.

Hell it's already started, many of the cultists on here are daily repeating Russian propaganda...

Very legitimate point!!!

I can't read the link since it requires a subscription with a limit of free readings per month but I take your word that it's an unsupported claim on Erod's part.

Erod presented the article to me as a place to “start digging.” As if I was going to spend my Saturday combing right wing conspiracy theory sites in order to confirm his false claims.

I've seen the same tactic before from many other political partisans. The best conclusion I can come to is that they didn't know enough about the topic to convey it so they threw out a smokescreen, they are agent provocateurs or, most commonly either immature or mentally handicapped.

Regardless, I have faith in the thousands of American patriots serving in our military and intelligence forces and a lot less faith in political partisans who always put party before country.

The most obvious sign of a smokescreen is link dumping: posting a link without a snippet from the article to support the claim. The article almost never ends up supporting the claim. We have posters who literally have never read the articles they link to.

They are hacking voter rolls in every state, and we don't know about voting machines yet.

We k ow they tried, and have had four years to work on it.

We know they will do whatever they can to select trump.

At least this time his staff doesn't have to meet secretively, the Republican Senate has aid it's just fine to request and receive foreign assistance.

Trump and Putin are certainly laying out campaign strategy through diplomatic courier...
and all the while there are several Bills the House has passed that are sitting on McConnell's desk that would go far to help stop this BUT McConnell won't put them on the floor of the Senate to be voted on
Looks like McConnell and Trump don't give a dang about the American people and secure elections
Have a nice day

I do wonder how much of a kick Moscow gets out of this, knowing that despite their much smaller economy, population, and limited strategic options they can still manage to **** with us so easily.

In fairness, the information age doesn't require the same massive infrastructure that the Cold War did. Data requires knowledge and the means to extract, but as has been displayed by the Cambridge Analytica situation, the information is there to be had for those interested in paying for it.

Excellent point and agreed.

The ravings of Trumpeteers aside, the thing about Trump's denying Russian meddling reveals one of two things: Either Trump truly is a traitor who is working hand-in-hand with Putin to undermine the United States of America or Trump merely a drug-addled old man with a severe personality disorder and only sees what he wants to see. FWIW, I think it's the latter, not the former. Another reason why, after the election, I think there's a good chance Pence and the Republican party will exercise the 25th Amendment.

We want paper ballots. You're side wants electronic.

We want voter ID. That's the last thing you want.

Who do think is aiming to rig elections?

Your guilt has led to your paranoia.
May I ask just where did you come up with this BS?
As I said in my last post the House has passed several bills that would go a long way to help secure our elections and they are sitting on McConnell's desk and HE won't put them on the floor of the Senate for a vote.
Looks like McConnell and his master Trump are the ones holding up secure elections
have a nice day

One of their favorite tactics is to ask the same stupid questions over and over again even after been proven, they continue to ask again even though they have no backed up their view in any way shape or form...

The solution to that is actually pretty simple. Create one comprehensive post thoroughly answering the question, then save it. Re-use as necessary.

Agreed on the Democrats. They most certainly do not have the best interests of all Americans at heart.

My guess is that the former Republican machine will continue to roll on after the Mango regime. However, it will not recover its dignity.

Russia gave over $145,000,000 to the Clinton Foundation.

Hillary gave 20% of our uranium to Russia.

And you didn't say a word.

She loses to Trump and now Bernie is taking over your party.

And now you're upset.

Lol, it ain't working, buddy.

Jeez louise! There doesn't appear to be any end to the number of spiders crawling around in your head.

Agreed. It reminds me of Einstein's definition of insanity. Pretty fun to watch but also fairly annoying.
