President Trump plans to name Richard Grenell, the U.S. ambassador to Germany, as the next acting director of national intelligence, according to three people familiar with the matter.
It is unclear whether Trump intends to nominate Grenell to fill the top intelligence post on a permanent basis, which would require Senate confirmation.

Though I have to give Trump kudos, at least he is not a masseuse

Top GOP Senator Warned the White House About Trump'''s Choice for National Intelligence Director

The 2004 Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act (IRTPA) stipulates that the DNI must have “extensive national security experience”. Ratcliffe was a prosecutor and politician in Texas and has served on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence for only seven months. Coats and his predecessors in the job all had years of experience in the intelligence community, overseeing it, and serving as U.S. ambassadors.

A Trump loyalist with no intelligence experience whatsoever, is put in charge of all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies? Does anyone need another reason to put an end to this in November? If we can survive, 'till then?

Love the "acting" part beyond its intended meaning. Its all a show.

Well, the Germans won’t miss him.

And, no doubt the Ambassadorship will be added to the list of Trump’s empty offices. I think the number is over 1500. I’m not sure. I haven’t been keeping up on that lately.

Don't be such a homophobe

I don't think his sexual preference entered into the conversation until you mentioned it.

Another top man to join the well-oiled precision machine of the United States Executive branch of government without getting elected by the people. This is American style democracy.

Yes he did make such a grand entrance to Germany and the EU

Liberals' heads exploding ... again.

:lamo

No one really cares anymore. It's a clown show in the WH. We're just hoping to not run a clown vs. clown (Trump vs. Bernie) in November.

The holder of the most senior Intelligence post in the USA, like so many others under Trump is at an "acting" rank, so he needs neither a security clearance, or approval by the senate. But libs' heads are exploding, so it's all fine.

3 exploding heads in a row ... immediately after my post.

People, ya'll sooo predictable.

:lamo

Warner's head will be the next one to explode ...

Trump doesn't bother with senate confirmations anymore, and the Senate seems fine with it. He really owns it.

I was wrong ... Warner's head had already exploded an hour ago and divided itself into 4 tweets ...

Yeah, the shock value's gone. Joe the Plumber to head the new Space Force? Sure, why not. The fact he's seen 2001: A Space Odyssey and is a massive Star Trek fan makes him perfectly qualified.

:)

And this folks is a perfect example of why there are no funny conservative comedians.
Jeff Foxworthy is kinda funny. Not sure about his politics though. Probably Republican.

Still. The redneck comedy tour special was funny.
