The deep state was wrong in convicting the former Illinois governor. This is the right thing to do.

Oh please, 4 governors from Illinois had been sent to jail. But surely, it was the deep state that was going after Blagojevich.

lol

It couldn't have been too "deep" since we all know about it.

I guess Blago showered Trump with just the right amount of compliments and praise.

The power of Presidential pardon needs a long overdue review.....one man alone should not be allowed to wave his hand and pardon anyone.

I always thought the dude was lacking not only honesty but was also "not the proverbial sharpest knife in the drawer."
He solicited several bribes from several people for several political appointments, including Barack Obama's vacant U.S. Senate seat.

I wanted to tap him on the shoulder and say something like: "Ah..I notice you're trying to get bribes/money from people for appointments"
"I hope you also realize that when people rob a bank and such, they only do it one time. Only the stupid assholes would try to rob the same bank or several banks at the same time" HINT: Your chances of getting caught go through the roof" Duh....

The state does have more than it's share of corruption. One fascinating statistic at the time of Blago's conviction was that a person elected to be the governor of that state was more likely to go to prison (50%) than a person who committed murder (around 40% of murders solved & resulted in a conviction).

This just proves how much Trump is against corruption.

I believe Presidential pardon is not even review-able by Congress. Their only recourse would be to impeach.

Why is it 'reprehensible?' Oh thats right, its Trump  You guys dont think any deeper than that.
Blago has served 7 years. Does the guy need to die in prison before you hateful libs are happy?

Your joyful celebration of criminality duly noted.

Trump has already lost Illinois due to it's Blue demographics, so I suppose he figures he'll toss his base some red meat and further pave the way for his further pardons of his criminal buddies.

As someone in Trumps base, in what way is this 'red meat' to me?

He was sentenced to 14, so just that.

lol

Blagojevich was beyond corrupt, well Illinois in and of itself is beyond corrupt at every level of government. But many of the recent governors ended up in jail or brought up on charges. I guess you're happy about rewarding corruption, though. Because it's Trump. Had Obama commuted Blago's sentence, I'm sure y'all would have been incensed.

How does a convicted felon serving a fourteen year term have an op-ed column?

Maybe Trump wants to hire him as his new campaign manager for his reelection bid.

lol

Scumbags of a feather and all that. Isn't it amazing that only the lowest of the low are associated with Trump and his base of degenerates?
