Trump expected to grant clemency to disgraced ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich: reports

What Bog did was the epitome of what defines "the swamp" which I thought Trump was going to drain. Guess he threw Bog back in.

I've quoted Blago's recent op-ed giving tribute to the king. But the pardons have a clear pattern. The politicos getting pardons or clemency are all Trump sycophants, and Trump routinely promises to target and jail his enemies.
 
We've not seen a spectacle of pardons this fantastic since Ford pardoned Nixon...and God pardoned Satan.

Well, today Trump just handed down pardons to a bunch of people he knew. One is the best friend of his personal crooked lawyer, the other is a guy he employed on the Apprentice, another a partner in the USFL, and the other was one of his rich buddies that got sent to the slammer in the 80s.

He personally knew each of them.

Pretty sleazy and autocrat-like, if you ask me.

What else do you call a guy who heads the department of justice and lets off criminals that are his buddies?

Blago was in the Chicago Swamp, as was Obama, but Trump only promised to break up the DC Swamp (which he is doing, despite the best efforts of Leftists), not every political swamp in the country..

I thought the 'deep state' was some faceless group of bureaucrats and security analysts operating out of a kiddie-fiddling pizza joint, not a federal court operating in plin sight on the public record.

If you're going to push conspiracies on the regular forum at least make them a little less easy to poke holes in.

I agree with your first and third sentences completely. As for the second one, I think thats just a TDS reflex to view everything Trump does in the worst possible light. I like Trump, but I dont seem him as that well thought out or calculating. He seems to be more impulsive than devious. I think he will pardon Stone but Im not sure about Manafort and I dont think Manafort deserves one. On the whole I think this story is much like every other--the left making a mountain out of a mole hill. He commuted Blagos sentence. So what.

Yeah, sad story for Blago.

Now let's do the other 1.4 million locked up in federal or state prisons, many of them for low level non-violent drug dealing.... We had the same kind of concern when the feds used a bunch of people to arrest Roger Stone, peacefully, with a knock on his door, but don't much give a damn when SWAT teams blow through the doors of the poor.

It's just fascinating how obvious we are about our 'priorities' sometimes.
