Blagojevich was beyond corrupt, well Illinois in and of itself is beyond corrupt at every level of government. But many of the recent governors ended up in jail or brought up on charges. I guess you're happy about rewarding corruption, though. Because it's Trump. Had Obama commuted Blago's sentence, I'm sure y'all would have been incensed.

No, youd be wrong about that. Im sure Obama pardoned and commuted many sentences during his term and I dont know that I commented on any of them. Trump knows Blago and has been considering this for years and is now going to do it. Big deal.

He's claiming overzealous government prosecution. It fits right into his & his supporters' narrative. In addition, he signals his criminal buddies to keep their mouths shut about him - because help is on the way.

Actually, I am ok with the time he served and do not have a problem with the clemency (not a pardon). I just worry that this is all a cover for pardons not yet announced that should not happen. Maybe I am getting ahead of myself here.

He's a criminal who abused the trust of public office and should serve his term. Elaborate on why you have a problem with that.

You feel crooked Democrats feel safer now with Trump in charge? I doubt the Swamp members now under investigation by Durham and others feel the same way.

In fairness to the swamp, people like Blagojevich were too putrescent for the swamp so they got kicked out. Trump's taken the swamp, carefully filtered out all of the clean water, and filled it back up with raw sewage.

The average sentence for a rapist is 9.8 years while the average time served is 5.4 years. Blago has served 7. Who is more dangerous to the public? And in whose neighborhood should a ra[ist be released early so that Blago can stay in his cell?

He is further consolidating his power, and movement toward full autocratic rule. It is a step-by-step process. He pushes the boundary. If there is no pushback, he continues to the next boundary. Expect it to get worse, because it will.

You can tell that it's embarrassing because Fox News has disabled comments on their coverage.

Maybe the number of comments seed into how trending an article is? Whatever the reason, when Fox covers something embarrassing they tend not to allow comments.
 
Trump also pardoned former New York City police commissioner Bernie Kerik who served three years for tax fraud and lying to officials.

Kerik was a former business partner of Rudy Giuliani. Kerik helped with the case of Navy Seal war criminal Eddie Gallagher who Trump also pardoned last December.
