Blago has served 7 years. Does the guy need to die in prison before you hateful libs are happy?
Because the guy who convinced voters that he’ll drain the swamp, pardoned corrupt politicians, businessmen who cheated clients and charities. Trump granted clemency to tax cheats, Wall Street crooks, billionaire thieves and corrupt government officials.

If you think there is nothing wrong with that, you’re the problem.

Can't your side ever defend Trump without an whataboutism? Strzok hasn't been charged with a crime by Trump's DOJ, so it's hardly equivalent to Trump allies convicted of serious crimes found guilty in court by a jury, being freed by a president who has no internal moral compass that might guide him.

Moreover, why can't your side EVER come clean and denounce indefensible actions by Trump? There is no justification for any of those people to be sprung from their crimes, which all were blatant.

I dunno. 14 years is a long time for some bribery thingy. Murderers and rapists got less.

That is determined by the law. It should not be by a guy with a bad hair weave and addicted to Adderall. If his wife hadn’t gone on Fox news and kissed his ass, Blago would still be in prison. Every person that he commuted are million and billionaires convicted of stealing from charities and fraud. Sends a great message.

Clemency is a way to correct abuses, or questions of whether justice was dispensed fairly. This is mostly what happens to the poor. The rich and powerful rarely, if ever, receive lesser justice or fairness.

14 years is within the sentencing guidelines of §2C1.2. Offering, Giving, Soliciting, or Receiving a Gratuity. "(3) If the offense involved an elected public official or any public official
in a high-level decision-making or sensitive position, increase by 4 levels. If the resulting offense level is less than level 15, increase to
    level 15."

in this case, a governor "sold" the appointment of a U.S. Senator.

Well Trump can pardon a convict according to law, so what exactly is the problem?

He didnt sell anything, it was an attempt. Anyway, he served time, almost 8 years, and many insiders say 14 smacked of politics.

Clemency simply amounts to limiting the sentence to time served. Does it really make sense that (attempted?) bribery should carry a sentence greater than that for 2nd degree murder?

The problem is abuse of process. According to the constitution, presidents can pardon federal convicts. So, if Trump decided to pardon all federal convicts, you would say 'what exactly is the problem?'

What was the Justice Department's view of this matter? Oh, it didn't go through the office that reviews pardons. Trump, who not only knows more about ISIS than the generals, but also knows more about sentencing guidelines than the people who literally do that for a living. Got it.

Being a millionaire or billionaire sure has its advantages if you decide to be a scumbag and break the law..
