More Than 1,100 Former DOJ Officials Press For Attorney General Barr To Step Down

those are part of the GOP establishment that Trump ran against.

Yeah... the Republicans with principles.

Ayer left the DOJ because he called out Dick Thornburgh on shielding his cronies from disciplinary procedures.
Kellner put his life on the line prosecuting drug overlords working with the CIA.
McKay got fired because he was actually doing what Alberto Gonzales only promised he'd do.

The officials warned William Barr’s interference in criminal cases for Trump’s personal benefit is behavior one would expect to see in an autocracy.

More than 1,100 former federal prosecutors and Justice Department officials are calling on Attorney General William Barr to resign following reports Barr and President Donald Trump intervened in the criminal prosecution of Trump’s friend Roger Stone.

In an open letter released Sunday, the former officials say Barr broke Justice Department rules when he overruled federal prosecutors in Stone’s criminal case, seeking a far more lenient sentence than the potential nine years prosecutors originally recommended.

“It is unheard of for the Department’s top leaders to overrule line prosecutors, who are following established policies, in order to give preferential treatment to a close associate of the President,” they said.

In their call for Barr’s resignation, the former Justice Department officials suggested his behavior is a threat to democracy.

If there's still anyone on the right that believe that we're exaggerating and sounding the alarms out of shear hysteria, THINK AGAIN

Literally, yesterday's news, lol. Now it's over 2,000 former DOJ officials, and climbing!

Putin, you mean Bernie?? you are probably right as that is the goal of your ideology.

I stand by my post, you Progressives need massive gov't to provide what you need because you are incapable of competing in the private sector. It is you that whines and complains about what others make and pay in taxes, not conservatives.

Liberalism is about spending in the name of compassion but all that does is create dependence and debt

No matter how you slice it it's still baloney.

So when you're finished making up imaginary hateful offenses to presume to scold and lecture about get back to me.

Because you're burned out and ranting strawman accusations as your posts show. You're sounding now like you want to lock people up if not worse.

former employees, the Hatch Act would be problematic for current ones

btw
Employees of the Department of Justice, which investigated Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of State, gave Clinton 97 percent of their donations. Trump received $8,756 from DOJ employees compared with $286,797 for Clinton. From IRS employees, Clinton received 94 percent of donations.

It's a sad day for this country when people such as yourself cannot distinguish between right and wrong.
I understand that hating is wrong and can also be dangerous. You don't.

It truly is amazing, all those hateful comments that post official data that have generated at 56% approval rating for Trump on the economy. Really bothers you seeing people keeping more of what they earn, why? I am not burned out, I am very happy and have no problem with people keeping their own money while bureaucrats that you support spend it.

I keep telling you you've got the wrong guy.

Yet you don't care.

You just keep on with your obsessive format of strawman accusations, denunciations, scolding, lecturing.

All you do is to invent stereotypes and then assail 'em. You're OTT dude. Off the deep end.

Well, it was a Democrat that started this "great economy"... it was juiced with the benefit of tax cuts we could ill-afford, and most Americans recognize that. Hence, suggesting a tax increase as part of lowering deficits is not necessarily a political loser. Moreover, the greatest societies in the world today are rooted in democratic socialism.
No credit to Obama, sorry. He was in for eight years, and couldn't get things going. That's way to long. As I've said before, I don't think it was a priority for him, he was more concerned with growing government and getting his heathcare plan passed, neither of which helped the economy. So, he would probably have done better with the economy, had he wanted to, but that's not a top priority for the Statist. Secondly, deficits are due to overspending, not under taxing.

What is a political loser is allowing the level of divisiveness, corruption, lawlessness and utter disrespect for truth and the rule of law that this administration has uniquely added to the American political fabric. People are tired of this.
You are describing Schiff, Pelosi, Schumer, and a bunch of other Democrats.

There's no defense of Trump going on at the thread.

Which is perfectly understandable.

Cause there isn't one.

Not even one.

Contrary to your false claim., the current recovery began in the Spring of 2009.

Indeed, most of the recovery, including the periods of greatest growth, occurred before Trump was President.

Trump is riding on the Obama economy, and is only real claim to fame is that this is the one thing he hasn’t screwed up. (Mainly because Mnuchin won’t let him).

Trump does have an accomplishment, though. A trillion dollar deficit.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that. What the hell took eight years? Answer; he did nothing for the economy. Take away our liberties and freedoms? Sure, he was all over that. Using the IRS against the Tea Party? Check. Russian interference going on? No problem, do nothing. But, I digress.

Why would he need a defense?

Given the thread and topic it's obvious your environmental awareness is zero.

So I point out, when one clicks on a thread and its topic the idea is to address it and to discuss it.

That's address and discuss if one is going to post to it. Don't like the topic and have nothing to say about it, then move on thx after reading.

Two thousand former and current Justice Department officials? That is about 2% of the total current workforce of the Justice Department! Those numbers are climbing faster than the temperature at a global warming convention at the equator on a sunny summer morn.

Looks like clear evidence of massive democrat bias in the DOJ. Someone should inform these retired bozos that Barr is appointed by the president and he serves at the pleasure of the president, not at the pleasure of the democrat party.

IN the spring of 2009, no Obama policy had been in place long enough to effect the economy one way or another. That means, according to you, that Obama was merely a bystander to a recovery that was the result of Bush policies. As for the debt, Bush doubled it, then Obama came along and doubled it again. Trump has no chance of doing that so whats the problem?

I have my doubts that they found 1100 bonafide employees that fast to sign a letter.

So, ummm, no answer. OK

I'd offer you a multiple choice / guess quiz on the thread title and topic except not only do you not know the topic you don't know where to find it.

And if pointed out to you, you wouldn't' know what to do with the topic once taken to it. In short that's horse-water-drink-not.

You haven't made a post yet that deals with the topic so I've been calling you on it with the promise of more calls pending as may be required or appropriate. As you can see I don't mind doing this sort of thingy.
