More Than 1,100 Former DOJ Officials Press For Attorney General Barr To Step Down

The foundation of the Constitution is three separate branches of government, all three with equal power. Trump is taking it all for himself. Now, I'm bored. Have a good night.

YAWN.gif

So you claim there is no evidence of that nor is they any justification given by you to vote for a Democrat in 2020, just outrageous lies and distortions.

Why can't you answer how over 2 trillion in FIT, CIT, and Excise taxes to fund 1.4 trillion in discretionary spending causes trillion dollar deficits?? You are simply very poorly informed and it is you that is blabbering left wing talking points with NO context

I just asked you a simple question... if the Government is spending the equivalent of 4% of GDP more than it takes in, then aren't we essentially pumping 4% of stimulus into the economy?

I came here for a discussion, not a diatribe.

You want a one sided discussion on your terms, I gave you a link and a response, you didn't like it. Trump isn't responsible for the deficit increase, interest expense on the 19.9 trillion dollar debt inherited plus entitlement spending is. I suggest you learn the line items in the budget and where the revenue comes from and purpose of the taxes collected

Not when 40% of it or so goes to foreign countries that purchase our debt

If you want to talk about conniptions, let some real democracy happen and the cons will declare the nation forfeit to the common rabble.

Truly, you are very talented. Some of the best satire I've read this year. That last bit, in reference to the deplorables, perfect. :LOL

Again, the numbers dispute that... the revenue decline (1.07) is over three times as large as the increase in outlays (0.34).

Not according to Treasury data but then again you have no understanding of the taxes you pay or their purpose. how does over 2 trillion dollars in revenue from taxes established to fund discretionary budget of 1.4 trillion cause deficits?

Well, I can address that too... in this chart I break down the Outlays by Presidential term - each Administration is color-coded, and a President's second term (if applicable) is filled in with dash marks. The numbers are the same average percentage of GDP measurement used in the first chart:

Outlays.jpg

While it's true that Net Interest payments have increased under the Trump Administration, they're still nowhere near the levels they were at during the Reagan, Bush Sr., and Clinton Administrations.

Pretty charts, great color but meaningless to the American people. So you believe interest expense was the fourth largest budget item under previous Presidents? Didn't pay any attention to the link I gave you!! Debt really bothers you but apparently not the 9.3 trillion Obama added to that debt.

Here is what you want to ignore

Reagan debt at the end of his term 2.6 trillion on a 5.2 trillion dollar economy

GW Bush 10.6 trillion dollar debt on a 14.7 trillion dollar economy

Obama 19.9 trillion dollar debt on a 18.7 trillion dollar economy
'
All Presidents had lower interest expense than Trump which makes up most of the deficit increases during his term

The Iran deal that was put together in conjunction with members of the P5+ including RUSSIA btw, was BRILLIANT. And, Trump ****ed it all up. Give it up already with the stupid "fast and furious" rhetoric, it's old and it was a nothingburger. Get over it, it's tiresome, redundant and nobody gives a damn.

LOL! Jeez, I know you libs like the back of my hand. Right on que, the point goes over your head, and you go on about the super awesom Iran deal (at least from Iran's POV, Us? Not so much). You are nothing if not predictable. LOL!

Actually, that's not quite true... Net Interest outlays account for most of the spending increase.... but the spending increase was dwarfed by the massive decline in receipts - it only accounts for about 24% of the deficit increase.

There has never been a president in US history that hasn't put food on our table, clothes on our backs and a roof over our heads. But have you seen the numbers of unsheltered people living in boxes on the streets of our major cities? Have you. Check the numbers of homeless people and compare those statistics with those of 10 years ago or even five years ago. Go ask them if they're happy with Trump. Go ask them if they can say 'thank you Trump for the food on my table, the clothes on my back and the roof over my head." You people are living in a fantasy surrounded by a huge bubble. Wake up and see what's happening right under your noses.

We have the progressive answers to homelessness and hunger from progressives Bill DeBlasio and Jerry Brown, pretend they aren't there.

I once believed homeless was primarily caused by poverty, and then later, I blamed mental illness, and now I know the primary cause is substance abuse, alcohol or other drugs. Not an illness, not a mental illness, accompanied by poverty as an effect, but a personal moral issue. Do I take that first drink, that first snort of meth, knowing the potential outcome? No excuses, and no president can make that moral decision for anyone. Do I feel empathy for these sufferers? Yes, of course. That doesn't mean I or anyone else can cure them and right their places in this world. That also is a decision and strength that must come from within the individual.

I have no problem accepting publicly funded safety nets for all who cannot care for themselves, regardless of cause. However, I will not accept blame for the conditions in which those who have made immoral personal decisions find themselves. I've known too many born disabled or who acquired disabilities through no particular fault of their own who have conquered those disabilities, with helping hands and without, to make their lives better, to accept any excuses when the cause is poor moral decisions. Granted some are beyond that personal strength, no reason to toss them in the trash. There is a distinction between basic societal responsibility to assist all those in need and accepting responsibility for universal cures. No one promised life will be fair and just.

If there's still anyone on the right that believe that we're exaggerating and sounding the alarms out of shear hysteria, THINK AGAIN

If these people were silent for Comey, McCabe, Strzok, ect and are speaking up now they can all **** right off. That aside, I don't care who calls for what if they can't prove there was intervention by Barr at the behest of Trump. They need to produce evidence to back up their accusations or quit their jobs, because they don't have any clue how the justice system works.

Sorry but that is a lie, there was no massive decline in revenue as I have pointed out and the following shows. 3.622 trillion in revenue isn't a massive decrease over the 3.529 trillion in 2018

That doesn't tell you anything, Con.... if you want to get a true picture of an item's effect on the economy, you need to use a percentage of GDP measurement.

Well if it takes massive protests like we see in countries like Colombia, Venezuela, Hong Kong and other places where government has suppressed the democracies of their governments, if it takes that in the United States to make some changes happen for the sake of preserving our democracy, you will see it if this bastard is reelected, I guarantee you that.

The comparison is a outright failure. Have you a clue what life is like in Columbia, Venezuela and Hong Kong? Do you truly understand what people in those nations are experiencing from their governments? Do you understand that each of those governments are anticapitalist reform governments, and all those people are objecting to anti-capitalism, and the loss of freedoms we take for granted here? Like you speaking freely in this forum? Pathetic.

Why can’t you answer why Gestapo Barr shouldn’t step down; you know, the thread OP content?

You just gave the best reason of all, refusing to give in to demonizing bully.

Re: More Than 1,100 More Than 1,100 Former DOJ Officials Press For Attorney General Barr To Step Dow

I will be voting for Trump in November due to the following and not what some 1000 or so left wing public servants claim

Unemployment Rate 4.7% January 2017 vs. 3.6% today

Employed 152.2 million January 2017 to 157.9 million today so 6 million job growth from 2008 to 2017(146 million to 152 million) is celebrated but 6.7 million growth I the last two years isn't!! LOL

U-6 in January 2017 9.3% vs 6.9% today? Wow!! 2.4% better U-6 obviously meaningless to you

Part time for economic reasons, 5.7 million January 2017 vs. 4.2 million today? Looks to me that incredible job growth you claim was boosted by part time jobs

African American unemployment 8.0% vs. 6.0% today? That explains the surge in support from African Americans for Trump

You have a clear and open path to vote while millions of Democratic party voters are stricken from the rolls by Republicans in state legislatures and by Republican governors, county boards and so on. Your state Texas has always been one of the worst in defining who is permitted to vote as Jim Crow has become Joe Tex.

As for justice your hero Barr who chooses to lead with his double chin has become the battlefront where he stays busy trying to earn Trump's iron cross of infinite loyalty in your thousand year republic of a hollow prosperity. Indeed America first isolationism and its bogus prosperity have always preceded war in Europe-Eurasia to inevitably include war in the Asia-Pacific simultaneously. So as the hacks either dabble in history or ignore it -- while pumping out the isolationist blue smoke of their false economy -- we need to be reminded that the measure of the reasonable person in society is to know which experts have credence, wisdom, patriotism. Indeed we need only to look but several decades into our own past as a nation that in its resolve defeated both fascism and totalitarianism in wars hot and cold. And as surely as the next war will come upon the USA the fight to win in the nascent 21st century will occur on the home front first.

Forget about the 1100 former Federal Prosecutors (and they're not all "left wing" - there are some Republican names on there as well as Democrats)...
Some?? What, like 5?
let's take the Attorney General at his word..."The President's tweets are making it impossible for me to do my job." I can't get over that... I don't know about you, but if my boss was "making it impossible for me to do my job" because his his behavior, I'd quit. It's as simple as that. Because you and I and the Attorney General all know his behavior isn't going to change.

So that makes me curious... you know, as someone who is so against "being led around by the nose", what would you do as Attorney General and the President was making it impossible to do your job? Wouldn't you resign?
I might. And I might not.

Some of the posters here have convinced themselves that the US has become some fascist nightmare. They are beyond the reach of reason at this point.

Re: More Than 1,100 More Than 1,100 Former DOJ Officials Press For Attorney General Barr To Step Dow

Consolidation of power?? Have you ever taken a civics class? The problem is Congress NOT the President, the general public gets it, you never will

It’s fairly clear that you never took one, or cut all the ones you were required to take.

The President does not have the authority to block testimony. The President does not have the authority to defy Congressional subpoenas.

The President does not have the authority to steal already appropriated money and divert it to his own use (particularly after he lost the battle to do it the legal way).

The President, no the Attorney General have the authority to interfere in the court cases of individual citizens in order to sway the outcome. That alone, is a fundamental threat to both the idea of the rule of law, and to the idea that all men are created equal.

That doesn't tell you anything, Con.... if you want to get a true picture of an item's effect on the economy, you need to use a percentage of GDP measurement.

You made the claim that there was a drastic drop in revenue and Treasury says and shows that is a lie, Your percentage of GDP is irrelevant as we don't spend percentages we spend dollars. You really have no understanding of data or actual results, just more attempts to divert from reality. 56% of the American people(10 polls represented) support the job Trump is doing on the economy, guess you aren't in those 56%

LOL, when you don't win elections you throw temper tantrums which this is just another example of. Your ideology is a failure, the American people understand it, FOUR MORE YEARS
