1,100 Former Justice Dept. Prosecutors and Officials Press for Barr to Step Down

1,100 Former Justice Dept. Lawyers Press for Barr to Step Down - The New York Times

Former Justice Dept. Lawyers Press for Barr to Step Down

More than 1,100 former prosecutors and officials who served in Republican and Democratic administrations signed an open letter condemning the president and the attorney general over the Stone case.

--

This is the ugly truth: Trump and Barr are authoritarians who do not believe in the Rule of Law. They both must be removed from office as soon as practically possible.

November 2020.
Let's see if American voters agree. I know I do.

That will send the strongest message.

I know what he did. He didn't try to destroy the DoJ.

What McCabe did is the same as some of those in the Trump campaign probe were convicted of. Is McCabe above the law?

This is like a letter from the college faculty at Berkeley asking Trump to resign. Meaningless drivel.

The is the ugly truth is this means nothing, absolutely nothing! You guys have tried over and over to remove the president and have failed in grand fashion. Now you are
going to try to remove AG Barr. Again you are doomed to a spectacular failure! But by all means keep trying. It's fun to watch the clown show in progress! :peace

No one expects Barr to resign because of this letter. That's not it's purpose.

Probably why they are "former". Just a bunch more crooks.

Truly amazing.

At some point I expect y'all to demand a new election because millions of Americans are deep state crooks.

Its like you're not even trying anymore to be credible.

The ugly truth is as long as Barr is looking into Stone's prosecution, you guys will be putting pressure on Barr (and Trump). Heck, what am I saying? You always want to put pressure on Trump.

You guys really think Barr or Trump care about this?

No.

But I bet some independents are beginning to chafe under the yoke of this presidency.

If enough of them are "influencers" we may be able to start repairing this administration's damage to the rule of law by next november.

This is why the Left is so ****ed up. They want unelected bureaucrats to have more power than the representitives elected by the people.

You mean the people that have been doing these things there whole lives?

Yes I expect elected officials to listen to experts and not just listen to tbe desires of constiants.

I spent ten years as a elected county representative, and believe me everyone has a personal agenda, or they're a flat out nut case...

Of course it's meaningless to Trump supporters. You want our institutions destroyed. Most of us don't. Barr obviously doesn't think it's meaningless. He wouldn't have gone public if it were meaningless drivel.

Personal agendas of non-elected bureaucrats don't supercede the will of the peoole, nor The Constitution.

This shows just how deep the deep state goes.

Yeah.

Approximately 160 million people deep.

You do realize that not everybody is buying y'all's whole "it's not that trump is corrupt, its just that tens of thousands of people joined the government years ago so they could be in place to stymie trump when he became president" bit.

I'm sure some Fox viewers are beginning to gag at this point.

Sure gonna be hard to tell your kids to obey the law when they can say "Why? The president doesn't have to!"

Not if Democrats put up someone like that authoritarian lunatic Sanders, Independents will begrudgingly cast a vote for Trump or simply stay home.

What alternative do you propose?

Do you want federal prosecutors to be chosen in an election?

Do you want members of Congress to assume the role of federal prosecutors?

Should we go back to the way we did it centuries ago? Maybe we could force the victims of crime to hire their own prosecutor?

Or, do you just not want there to be a Justice Department at all?

Are you aware a grand jury likely refused to indict McCabe?

Are you aware a jury found Stone guilty of his crimes for which he is now being sentenced?

When you speak of unelected bureaucrats having more power than representatives, I'm definitely open to suggestions. The present arrangement is the result of the practical difficulty of enforcing the law in a Republic of 327 million citizens. I think having a government that is more of a direct democracy might be an improvement, but you may not end up with the policies you favor if we do this.

Also, this comment of yours seems a little hypocritical to me, you seem to be perfectly happy with Barr his power to further Trump's personal political interests.

Yes, we realize you support a very corrupt bureaucracy.

He lied under oath. He launched an illegal investigation with the intent to influence a presidential election.

AG Barr disagrees with you. tRUMPs personal man.

Nobody should. These are a buncha deep state bureaucrats. Where were they when McCabe and his crew were uo to no good?

Close enough to see that its all a bunch of propaganda bull**** promulgated to cover trumps crooked ass.

And in case you haven't heard, McCabe was not charged. By trump's justice department.

Seeing how none of you complained when Obama weaponized the IRS, it comes as no surprise that you support a corrupt bureaucracy that thinks it's above the law.

What illegal investigation???

Ukraine backed off after trump got caught and had to quickly cover up his blackmail scheme...

tRUMP puts it on himself.
Endless BS tweets. Maybe he should stop all the golfing and tweeting and actually do what a president should do. Lead the country. And stop being an impeached whiney baby

Orphansong:

No, which is the OP's point. Authoritarian regimes don't care about learning from criticism, they crush it and ignore it..

Cheers.
Evilroddy.
