[W:164]What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

Re: What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

JFK never took his salary as a congressman or senator, as well as president. Hoover was the first.

It's not NICE to tell the truth when it hurts.

But, that's OK because "Integrityrespect" won't believe you that Mr. Trump is NOT the first President to refuse his Presidential salary.

Re: What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

It isn't going into his own pocket. if you think it is please show me the check or expense where it says it was paid to donald j trump.

Almost exactly. The payment would actually have to be direct and in cash for it to count as a payment to Mr. Trump.

A cheque would not count as a payment to Mr. Trump because it would be the bank that cashed the cheque that gave the money to Mr. Trum and NOT the US government. The US government would only be "guilty" of honouring a negotiable instrument that it had issued and it is NOT illegal to actually pay money out to redeem a cheque that you have issued.

Re: What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

Let me ask you this.

Should the Secret Service be sleeping in their cars?

No. But I think there should be a bidding process and he shouldn't be profitting personally from his golf vacations.

Which he said he wouldn't have time for if elected. But you do not care if he lies to you.

I think you actually get off on it.

Re: What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

Thank you for that information. Unfortunately I am unable to find exactly where "in our supreme law of the land" it is.

Would you please provide a specific reference (a link would also be appreciated)?

Thank you, in advance, for your generous help.

Could you provide a link to any evidence supporting the proposition that "The United States of America" or any of the several states are paying actual cash directly to Mr. Trump?

BTW, you do have to admit that it is incredibly generous of Mr. Trump to donate his $400,000 annual presidential salary to charity. Why proportionately that is the same as someone who earns $60,000 per year donating around $55.25 per year to charity.

He clearly turned down. His salary because had he accepted it his finances would be public, he can't have that...

Re: What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

Hey, you can't blame the President of the United States of America for the fact that the owners and managers of a hotel are a bunch of greedy, rapacious, bastards.

Well you kinda can when the owner of said hotel is a corrupt, illegitimate president...

I like reading your posts, you truly have a dizzying intellect...:2wave:

I noticed how you dodged the question. Typical

Re: What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

There is no point in comparing hotel bills other than to try to dishonestly make Trump look bad. Democrat hatred for Trump and America shows no bounds.

LOL gotcha.. you have no problem with the US president committing massive fraud against the US taxpayer as long as he has an R behind his name.. gotcha. You are by definition a cultist.

Re: What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

Hotels aren't supposed to charge for rooms?

Liberals want the Secret Service in tents out in the parking lot?

Can't make this stuff up; liberal outrage over nothing is never-ending.

:donkeyfla

This is an issue about the Secret Service paying above market rates.... The President personally enriching himself at taxpayer expense is quintessential corruption.

President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service for the rooms it uses while protecting Trump at his properties. The charges have been as high as $650 per night for a Mar-a-Lago Clubhotel room, or $17,000 a month for a cottage at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.

Who pays these bills? U.S. taxpayers. That means Trump has a business arrangement with his own government. But the details of that relationship remain largely hidden.

The only glimpses of this spending have come out via Secret Service records, released after public records requests. But these documents are often cryptic, giving few details.

Since Trump took office, he has visited his own properties on 342 days. Secret Service agents come with him. And Trump’s company charges them.

When Trump supporters proclaim "Trump has refused to accept any salary as President!", they believe that's something grand, it is not. Trump is making more than enough money off the U.S. taxpayer dime, he doesn't need the measly $400,000 a year salary, that's chickenfeed compared to the millions of dollars he's reaping off the taxpayer dime.

It's a good scam for Trump, it seems.

Re: What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

Luckily, the Clintons didn't rent the Lincoln bedroom out in return for campaign contributions.

Then liberals would be REALLY upset! :2mad:

That's peanuts compared to Trump's daily take on the taxpayers dime. Surely you can see the difference. $127 million just for his golf outings.

Re: What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

His freaking hotels? Where he's staying? The Secret Service has a job, and that's to protect the president.

Should the Secret Service just donate some money to the Clintons & stay in the Lincoln Bedroom in DC while Trump travels elsewhere?

That would resolve this, no?

He should not stay at hotels owned by himself or his family. It is a violation of the emoluments clause and funnels taxpayer money into his business empire. That equals directly profiting from the office of the president. This is called 'emoluments'.

And do not pretend its either that or sleep in a ditch - nobody here is going to go along with such a ridiculous 'argument'. There are dozens of other first class places to choose from in any given city.

Proven fraud or allegations of fraud?

Bidding process? Every time the president goes somewhere, a bidding process for Secret Service accommodations? :lamo

Correct. A politician lied?

Keep in mind that I'm not the topic.

Trump stays where he stays.

Every prior president stayed where they stayed.

It's expensive to have a buncha guys in dark glasses following you around.

The president stays where the president stays.

Where he goes, the Secret Service goes.

It's expensive & always has been.

Shame on me. I must have meant Trump's dicks.

Re: What President Trump’s company charges the Secret Service

Mr. Trump is allowed to claim a deduction for every dollar that he donates to charity. Since Mr. Trump has an hourly cost of living of $0.00, he really doesn't need his salary as President (and he doesn't have to claim what the US government pays for his living expenses as an "Employee Benefit" on his tax returns either). If someone were to offer me a job that paid $400,000 a year AND was going to pick up my $10,000,000 per year living costs AND I didn't have to claim that $10,000,000 as an "Employee Benefit", you can bet the farm that I'd be donating that $400,000 to charity as well (especially if I could use it as a "carry forward" towards my next five years of income tax liability).

Makes sense. Thanks.

So...Trump says he refused his salary? And people believe him? Really? Wow, that is a whole new kind of stupid!
