The White House is preparing to reassign a key witness from President Trump's impeachment trial, the National Security Council director and Army lieutenant colonel who reported the president's July 25 phone call to Ukraine's new leader.

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a Ukraine expert who leads European affairs at the NSC, is expected to be rotated out of his current post as early as Friday.

Vindman told senior NSC colleagues that he expected to leave his post as early as the end of the month, according to people familiar with his decision who spoke to the Washington Post. But Trump is eager to draw attention to Vindman and what Trump perceives as his perfidy.

Probably both, but correct me if I am wrong, but didn't his commanding officer have questions about how Vindman proceeded with everything, in relation to chain of command? That alone right there could be the reason for re-assignment.

I'm not aware. Do you have documentation supporting this assertion?

Not really any credible media sites there. If you add wsj to the search you get a story but nothing supporting the claim. If you add wapo to the search you get an opinion piece, which I assume attempts to debunk this claim by Republicans.

If I were him I'd cash out my retirement and enjoy myself. Who would want to work for Trump or any of his Cabinet members these days? If you can't say the words "Trump is God and his farts smell wonderful", you don't want to be working in DC right now.

Well thank you for not knowing what the chain of command is.

His chain of command is Tim Morrison, who testified that he did not know anything about it.

So, which is true?

It could be that Tim Morrison is NOT his chain of command, that I haven't looked at, but with multiple outlets reporting that he is, I'm ok going with that.

Then he will likely create a whole new batch of witnesses more than willing to testify to Congress. The investigation is going to continue since Dirtbag is going to keep "crimeing" and likely at a faster pace than heretofore.

That's why I posted the search results, I didn't see anything credible, but, if it's true that Tim Morrisson is his direct report, then he did go outside the chain of command apparently as Morrisson testified he did not know anything about it.

I’m sure there is a message, participate in a coup against the legitimate president of the nation and you best succeed or you will be ousted. The NSC doesn’t need people working against the interests of the president. The constitution gives Trump and not Vindman the right to conduct foreign policy

At least you admitted that you didn't know **** about this. Morrison is in the State Department. Vindman is in the NSC in the WH and it was to his superiors in that body that he reported is concerns about the phone call right after it happened.

Correction: I erred above. Morrison did serve on the NSC very briefly well after Vindman made his concerns known to that body right after the criminal call on July 25. So that's why Morrison couldn't recall Vindman's concern. He wasn't there. He took over after Fiona Hill left that job in August and resigned on Oct 31.
