"Dishonest and corrupt': Trump unloads at National Prayer Breakfast after acquittal

Truthfully, we won't have to wait for his reelection to find out what's going to happen. Trump has crossed the line in the sand that separates the 3 branches of government a week ago. He took the power away from the GOP controlled Senate thus removing their constitutional obligation of oversight of the other two branches. He took over the power of the Judicial Branch yesterday when he interfered in the Roger Stone sentencing. Barely anyone blinked an eyelash over any of it.

Yep. The Republicans need to grow a spine.

Re: National Prayer Breakfast: Trump rages on impeachment,

Excuse me, but you failed, on purpose, to remember that they could only call witnesses WITH DEMOCRAT APPROVAL. Just a tiny bit different than what you are claiming. Jeez, I mean you people are so used to lying through your teeth to each other, you forget that other people exist. Pathetic.

Also different from what you claimed. And the Senate didn't call witnesses because...?

What's the matter, you want the Democrats to take over the Senate proceeding too? Sorry, they called their witnesses and suppressed the Republicans in the sham they ran in the House. They had their chance. The Senate should not have even proceeded with a trial, they should have dismissed it immediately. They didn't have the votes because of too many gutless Republicans that wouldn't stand up for the Constitution. Their job was to be a check on the abuse of the impeachment clause by the House. They did, in a roundabout way.

Re: National Prayer Breakfast: Trump rages on impeachment,

There is no question that Trump was framed in the impeachment process, but that does not make him an honorable man or a good leader. He is not making America great, he is methodically destroying many important things. He is an embarrassment.

Framed? You're gonna need a source for that fat one...

Does common sense satisfy your demand for a source?

I'm no fan of Trump at all, but there is no question that the charges contained in the articles of impeachment describe behavior that is perfectly common inside the Beltway. It describes behavior practiced for many years by hacks of both parties.

In that sense Trump was framed. They impeached him for things that are common behavior in Washington DC. The impeachment process is a political process and nothing more.

You lack common sense. Which former President has used foreign policy for personal benefit?

IMO, taking the country to war under fraud is far worse than "using foreign policy for personal benefit", whatever exactly that means.

They are all crooks in Washington DC. Cheney's companies BRK and Halliburton profited immensely from the GWOT. So have many others.

Nixon and Reagan, for starters.
