FBI Investigating Whether Ilhan Omar Married Her Brother

Reporting from a right-wing blog no more likely to be telling the truth than InfoWars. Furthermore, given all the other bull**** nonsense Trump has made the officials investigate that were unfounded even if they are looking into it that's still probably bull****.

But more importantly than any of that...Who really gives a ****? We have an incredibly stupid and broken immigration system. I'm not the least bit concerned about an American Citizen using some tricks to help a family member immigrate here. Fix the stupid system that creates this completely unnecessary red tape and you'll find that immigrants won't look for ways around it.

It's a felony.

The OP is a great example of the "Perpetual Outrage Machine" oiled and maintained by right-wing media. It's great for ratings and great for making $$$. It's not, however, great for our democracy.

Here's Charlie Sykes:
That's one of the key things that's happened to the conservative movement. You had this vast network of conservative organizations and conservative media that decided the way they could raise money, get clicks and raise their ratings was to keep the audience outraged and feeling betrayed all the time. That doesn't mean that there weren't things to be legitimately opposed to, but the perpetual outrage machine basically needed to keep people angry all the time. It was the business model. But the problem is, it's hard to turn that off.

How about if we wait to see whether the investigation proceeds?

How about if we wait to see whether the investigation proceeds?

Good idea. While we're at it, why not just wait and see if she is actually charged with a crime before we start threads like this in the first place?

Good. This is a very old tactic circulated by the right-wing wackos. You got caught in it.

We shall see.
What your talking about is something like the New York Times "other woman" hit piece on John McCain on the eve of the 2008 election.

Apparently you’ve mixed up Democrats with Trump supporters.

No unlike you I only print facts. Examples below.

Franklin D. Roosevelt The former U.S. president was married to his fifth cousin once removed, Anna Eleanor Roosevelt.
John Kerry The former U.S. Secretary of State is distant cousins with his now ex-wife Julia Thorne.

Good idea. While we're at it, why not just wait and see if she is actually charged with a crime before we start threads like this in the first place?

The thread merely notes the investigation. Seems fair to me.

Somewhere a climate is going undenied..............

Not gonna lie...that had me cracking up even though I'm totally on board with his climate posts. But when a joke is good, it's good.

Oh, heck, why wait? That would be too reasonable. No matter the topic, it's always full speed ahead around here. :(

Glad you can copy and paste Wikipedia but I don't care. Come post a link when an actual reputable news organization has picked it up and verified it, not the National Review linking the NY Post linking a Blaze editorial where a random conservative moron claims that it happened because he said so.

I'm sure you prefer "anonymous sources", amirite?

it might be but she has already said that he is not her brother. I don't trust Barr as he is a partisan hack job...he has destroyed the reputation of the FBI and I am suspecting that Trump and Co ordered yet another baseless investigation of a conspiracy theory.

You mean the FBI that labeled MLK a terrorist and tried to get him to commit suicide is going to have it's reputation tarnished? Say it ain't so!

The thread merely notes the investigation. Seems fair to me.

I'll bet it doesn't seem fair to Ilhan Omar, who has had this unproven conspiracy theory hanging over her for two years.

So blogs are always wrong? Do you get this disdainful of blogs when someone posts a piece by Talking Points Memo, RawStory or Huffington Post?

Blogs quite often are pushing political agenda and opinion over accuracy. Powerline has been caught a number of times in failed fact checks. Some blogs are more respectable,... rawstory is not. Powerline is not. Talking points memo mostly is factual, but you have to dig deeper as is huffington post. I don't use any of those as sources. I might use them as jumping off points to look at what was reallyl said, but as sources, well no.

I have a hard time worrying about that, given her serial anti-Semitic outbursts. If you sow the wind you can expect to reap the whirlwind.

I have a hard time trying to understand why people think she hates Jews with no proof.

Incorrect. It merely notes the unsupported claim for investigation, which is different that an investigation.

I see. So due process is only allowed for people we like and people who are like us. Gotcha.

Look, Omar is hardly my favorite politician. I find her behavior to frequently be adolescent and unprofessional. But that does not give others the right to stalk and slander her with unproven conspiracy theories. I'm disappointed, but not surprised, that you believe it does.
