Schiff warns of Russian attack on US mainland, as Day 2 of Trump's Senate impeachment trial conclude

All that is true, but . . .

I don't know how you read Schiff as not at least implying that the choice is between fighting them there or fighting them here. And we don't fight them here unless they attack.

So, Schiff, at the very least, said something really dumb and unlikely.

If it's true as reported, then it's the standard fear mongering that we see from the Republocrats all the time. It's rather ignorant at best to suggest that Russia would actually attack our mainland. I think they are perfectly fine with our proxy wars in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, but they wouldn't want to get into an actual scrap with us anymore than we'd like to do so with them.

Fighting Russia over there and not over here is equivalent to warning of an attack on the US mainland?

)

how else could we fight them over here as opposed to there?

As terrible as Trump is with international politics and being the best President Putin could hope for, it is highly unlikely that Russia would be so brazen as to actually attack our mainland.

Of course they wouldn't, which is one of many obvious clues to why Schiff didn't say what the headline claims.

Looks like Fox has become the Walmart of news retailers. The end caps are never what they seem.

I assume you’re talking about the OP.

Schiff never said a word about a Russian armed attack against the US.

But Fox was perfectly happy to entertain its low information talk radio lemmings by falsely claiming such a thing, even though the accompanying article never mentions such a possibility.

Everyone in the room knew what Schiff was talking about.

So does the Trumpster audience, which is now openly boasting about sucking up Russian propoganda as a “news” source.

Has the Trump GOP forgotten about W?

House Democrats launched into lengthy arguments that broke little ground, if any, in President Trump's impeachment trial Wednesday -- as the head impeachment manager,

Right off the bat, anybody with a brain and who is honest can see what biased crap the article is. what I quoted above is not stating fact, that's complete spin and providing a conclusion, not reporting the fact.

Look at all the right winger that just believe the article, no questions asked. NO wonder why right wingers posts are so stupid and they are so uninformed

When, oh when, is someone going to ask the Honorable Adam Schiff that classic question asked of the inquisitors during the Communist witch hunts of the 1950s?

"Have you no decency, sir?"

Witch hunt? Countless convictions, guilty please, impeachment, every bit of evidence in HOuse supported his guilt, his own words admitted his guilt,. Yeah, witch hunt LOL Oh, I think you meant Bengazi, Emails, that amounted to findings that there was no wrong doing, no convictions, nothing. Oh, and dems provided all the evidence requested and didn't block testimony

Who is trying to block wtinesses and evidence, while whining about witch hunt? The POS republicans. So right wingers can **** off with this lie about witch hunt.

Brain isn't the problem. Doesn't take much, IMO anyway, with stuff like this. It's usually hard to stomach some articles; this one was well written, but I found myself wasting time searching for evidence supporting the headline. I found none. Gave up.

I can't believe this is even being discussed. As Fitz said earlier, Everyone in the room knew what Schiff was talking about. Don't we all? Don't we all remember Bush. W Bush. Iraq war. Send Troops.

they already did, and are continuing to. They hacked DNC, the meddled in elections, they helped put destructive Trump in office, who is giving everything to Russia. they continue to spread propaganda that the Taliban right wingers eat up and spread

Fitz said he was talking about the Russian cyber-hacking, not about any actual physical war. Which, of course, makes no sense with what Schiff said.

That may be true, and of course Schiff didn't mean a Russian invasion.

Schiff is sarcastic, which is one thing I don't like about him, but that doesn't mean I don't recognize a reference to George W Bush. That's all it was. In whatever meaningful way we are fighting Russian aggression, the quote used by the article is nothing more than a sarcastic remark. Schiff being Schiff. Anyone who thinks Schiff was warning us of a Russian attack on the mainland has a vivid imagination.

I think you're reaching for an explanation other than what it actually was -- a stupid comment.

This is what happens when one lets their hyperbole get out of control. It makes them look ridiculous and foolish.

Because there is nothing wrong with Russia using all illegal methods possible to help Trump win again. We have no reason to protect elections from foreign interference when they are helping our side. In fact we should just do away with elections entirely and that would fix the problem. Let's crown Trump King officially instead of just handing him the power of a King in the Senate.

This is hyperbolic nonsense. They guy is simply a dunce who desperately wants to be the one who ousts Trump.
Um, it's not hyperbolic at all to be of the understanding that if Russia takes the Ukraine, they'll be positioned to invade many eastern-European states, where we would have to confront them.

Schiff seems to be infected by the same "dumbass" worm that's crawled it's way into the DNC.

Well he clearly said the democratic candidates did not have a chance to beat Trump in the election in 2020. We cannot let the election determine the president in 2020 because we can't be sure of its integrity. In other words we can not depend on the outcome we want.

Yeah, um, even Lindsey Graham said that Schiff's presentation was very well done and that he was great speaker, so there's that.

He certainly is responsible for putting Trump in the impeachment book.

I think you're reaching for an explanation other than what it actually was -- a stupid comment.

No, that's actually what I'm saying, though not as elegantly as you have. "Sarcastic remark" is pretty close to "stupid comment," however. And those words are George W Bush's.

Schiff is just plain nucking futs.

Did you not read the post I said was hyperbolic?

We're not talking about Russia invading eastern Europe. Schiff said we'd have to fight them here.

Obviously he misspoke. You don't have to have a cow about it and pretend you don't know what he meant.

Says the supporter of a man that believes one can drop bombs into the eyes of hurricanes to stop them.

Obviously he misspoke. You don't have to have a cow about it and pretend you don't know what he meant.

So he said something pretty stupid. It's okay to admit that.

So...now that YOU have shown your ability to let your hyperbole get out of control, don't you feel ridiculous and foolish?

The sad part is that it is not hyperbole. It is the reality of the Republicans behavior. It will mean the end of our Republic if they prevail. They won't and you won't. Enjoy your temporary victory because the consequences will be far worse than you expect.

So he said something pretty stupid. It's okay to admit that.
This is the only thing in his presentation you can pick at, isn't it?
