Cory Booker ends 2020 presidential campaign

And there goes the last in their field I would consider voting for.

There really isn't much left after him though. He was a person "of color". That's all he had. But he checked that box for the PC crowd.

I liked that he had risen through local politics and embraced pragmatic solutions such as charter schools.

LOL. I am quite successful and happy, my friend. I live in a two story 4000 square foot home on a hill with the best view of anyone and everyone who comes here always mentions the incredible views. Along with it comes beautiful sunrises and sunsets. This was attained through extremely hard work and perseverance and ingenuity and I dare say I have accomplished far more than Booker. Being in government means NOTHING to me except that it is a license to steal which is why they all are millionaires within a few short years. Booker couldn't work in private industry. Most gubment workers can't.

Rather full of yourself aren't you? I think Ill take the Stanford/Oxford/Yale educated, Rhodes scholar, and sitting US Senator over an anonymous and boastful forum poster in terms of life successes...

I don't follow him all that closely other than seeing his "I am Spartacus" stunt and his demeanor and behavior during the Kavanaugh hearings showed me just how disingenuous he is. In my mind, a third grader would have known that the rape charge of 50 years before was contrived. I consider those who went along with it only out of ideology to be evil people, to be honest with you.

As for charter schools, I consider them the main solution to saving the soul of America.

I wouldn't. Always choose those who have been there and done that rather than those who found something out at Stanford and lives a life of theory.

Black people are 13% of the population. For a Black candidate to win requires them to rise above the race card and get White and Hispanic support. That was prob President Obama's greatest triumph. He was seen as a good candidate, not as a good, black candidate. Both Booker and Harris played the race card too much and it cost them the moderate vote. Statistically, moderates are going to be the largest group, so why not pander to them? Harris was a former state attorney and prosecutor. She could have run on a "let's be tough on crime" run and have the history to back it up. Instead, she ran to the left-most extreme and lost the moderate votes. That's why Biden is in the front, not because he is white, because he is moderate.

TBH I never knew why conservatives referred to him as Spartacus. I just assumed it was an allusion to the movie in some way.

No. He wigged out one day. That alone makes me highly suspect of his mental acumen.

like Obama, if he was a white guy with the same ideas, he would have garnered less interest than that nutty author who threw her name in the ring

Exactly right. Were Obama white, he would have been a "so what " candidate. He skillfully used his being half black. He never ONCE mentioned that he was white

Booker was a big waste of time and offered a nothing platform. Very very smart to drop out. It's the best decision made.

He wasn't even good at that. He comes from a background of money. He doesn't hold much in common with most blacks.

You are correct. He really knew how to play America using his race. Did anyone ever ask him why he pretended to be all black and never acknowledged being white? He wouldn't go within a mile of "the hood".
