Pelosi: House will move to transmit impeachment articles next week | Fox News

Yesterday, she pronounced she'll send them over when she's "ready". Wonder what suddenly made Nancy ready? Sounds like pressure from those in her own party convinced her that she had better stop stalling, crap on the pot or get off!

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Friday that she will take steps next week to send impeachment articles to the Senate, after delaying the process since last month in a bid to extract favorable terms for a trial.

“I have asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler to be prepared to bring to the Floor next week a resolution to appoint managers and transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate. I will be consulting with you at our Tuesday House Democratic Caucus meeting on how we proceed further,” Pelosi, D-Calif., wrote in a letter to colleagues.

The decision to release the articles came as fellow Democrats in recent days had started to voice frustration and impatience with the speaker's approach. They stressed the urgency with which impeachment was treated at the end of 2019 and questioned why the House would then delay a trial by using articles as leverage.

She should sit on them until turtle boy capitulates on the witness issue.

I’d read that the Senate was looking to move forward with the trial next week, articles or no. I think Pelosi got as much mileage out of her bit if theater as she was ever going to get, which isn’t much. It was a dumb ploy to begin with and really discounted the seriousness she pretended the process had.

Instead of discovering the truth, Republicans choose to grow the swamp. What a sad day for our country.

She should hold her breath while doing it.

Agreed. Frankly, I would have never sent them. And inquiries need to be opened immediately into the suleimani strike, as well as the financial ties to iranian oligarchs that are tied to the IRG.

What a perfect election year ad the democrats can now run.

Republicans and their psycophants live in a false reality. While the hearings were going on, it was too fast and there wasn't enough evidence. When the hearing ended, the process was too slow, and there was too much information to keep it all together. Now, we are back to Nancy doesn't want to draft articles of impeachment and she is caving.

They're the equivalent of teenagers pretending to be responsible adults but not realizing they're just annoying backseat drivers at this point.

The Senate would try a potus on impeachment charges.....without the charges? How exactly would that work, Constitutionally?

What we can look forward to is McConnell reversing course on following the Clinton impeachment rules as soon as the Senate trial begins.

That would be awkward - conducting a trial on indictments that they haven't received and those who wrote them not on hand to present them. I suspect that was bluster and frustration.

Or even logically.

While I think surely they would do it if there was an advantage to it, I don't see the advantage.

Basically, imagine a court trying a defendant without an indictment.

Where did you read about a thing like that, Infowars?

McConnell planned to join a resolution to dismiss if Nancy did not send over the articles by next week. Actually this is a win for McConnell because looks like he forced Nancy's hand to finally cave and submit.

It’s a look that trump’s base will like, but it won’t be appreciated by anybody else.

They would dismiss the indictment out of hand. Gone. Never happened.

Nancy can't afford to see all of her efforts go down the drain like that. She needs more talking points.

My guess is that Donald or one of his surrogates has held the SOTU over her head.

Perhaps. One thing for sure, Nancy didn't get what she really wanted. To run the senate trial to which she felt entitlement to do.

So is McConnell lying when he claims the senate is going to follow the rules in Clinton’s impeachment?

The insight into Nancy Pelosi's mind here is remarkable.

That is NOT what Moon described, your comment is a non-sequitur.

I suppose if you consider the breaking of precedent, the negotiation between House and Senate on the rules for a trial, as a "win", well there you are.
