Iran plane crash: Report claims Ukraine jet likely hit by Iran missile

The Ukrainian jet that crashed after taking off from a Tehran airport may have been mistakenly shot down by an Iranian missile, a London-based global information firm says.

"Photographs purportedly taken near the site of the crash and circulated on social media appear to show the guidance section of an SA-15 Gauntlet short-range, surface to air missile, which landed in a nearby garden," the firm IHS Markit said in its report.

The firm said it could not confirm the authenticity of the photos but "assesses them to be credible."

As I mentioned previously- if the plane was shot down by Iran, it was low levels screwing up. The plane crashed mere hrs after Iran attacked US forces in Iraq, and the Iran Military would be on high alert

I would expect most airlines will cease air travel to Iran, pending clarification of the cause

The Iranians sure are looking like dumbasses, right now.

First, one of their big dogs gets wasted by the U.S. Then, they launch their ***** ass missile strike that was a goat ****. Whether it was an intentional miss, or a screw up, doesn't really matter. Now, it's looking more likely that they splashed a Ukrainian passenger plane, 3/4 full of Iranians. Again, intentional, or accidental, it doesn't make them look any less stupid, either way.

Don't forget the 50 or so of their own people killed during the funeral "procession" ...

Iran has killed more of it's own people in the past 7 days than they have Americans...lol

If this turns out to be true what are the reprecussions of it. Do they get to just say oops or do they pay some sort of a price?

Ah, the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Propaganda has arrived to defend the faith.
 
It is incredible that they would have accidentally taken down a civilian airline that just left Tehran International.

One would think they would be monitoring planes coming into Iran and not leaving.

Throw the politics and whataboutism aside for a moment and think if this had been an American plane. Even if the Iranian Barney Fife accidentally shot it down we would strike them hard and quick. And poof we would be in another middle east confict.

Who would believe them that they did it accidentally when just the other day they were bragging they were so accurate they could shoot missiles into a base and not kill one human.


I am just amazed North Korea hasn't accidentally launched a missile into a South Korean town.

His concern should be focused on what his dear leader, Trudeau will do. After all, 63 of his citizens perished by a misfired Iranian missile.

The question rises, if it proves out a SAM took down that flight, who fired it? No one can assume it was fired by Iranian forces or assets. Just as likely, Iranian dissidents, Sunni assets, anti government criminal gangs, .....?

Regardless, the mullahs are circling their wagons. A few weeks ago, two Iranian military helicopters were shot down with SAM's in northeastern Iran. A region controlled by one of the drug gangs. The Iranian government will make no admissions, but opiates are an increasing problem, with increasing opiate overdose deaths. Not a problem unique to Iran, but an embarrassment to a people supposedly under the control of the Supreme Leader, a messenger from Allah.
 
The war hawks are at it again. Like addicts, they just can't help themselves.

Not to worry. Trudeau has a unique ability to blend in to the Iranian culture. He will simply dress as Aladdin, fly into Tehran on a Magic Carpet and save the day.

Really tragic. Maybe this will cause Iran to stop and rethink its policy of exporting terrorism throughout the region.
