Police officer "fabricated" story about being served McDonald's coffee with "f***ing pig" written on

Re: Police officer "fabricated" story about being served McDonald's coffee with "f***ing pig" writte

"Hornaday added that his investigation concluded the accusation "was meant to be a joke," and said the officer "should have come forward immediately ... prior to this becoming a nationwide incident."

"This is absolutely a black eye on law enforcement," Hornaday said. "I hope [the former officer] understands the magnitude of the black eye that this gives the law enforcement profession from coast to coast. None of us can be excluded from that."

Re: Police officer "fabricated" story about being served McDonald's coffee with "f***ing pig" writte

I have ZERO problem with the chief of police standing by his officer until further facts came to light. None whatsoever.

The fact that you do....seems...strange to me.

Sorry but jumping on Facebook (or any social media) to go after the business was a poor decision. People don't want the police judged as a whole, but the chief had no problem attempting to target the restaurant as a whole when he gave the address out and encouraged people to share. That was an attempt to damage their entire business rather than take action against an "individual" of the alleged offense.

Re: Police officer "fabricated" story about being served McDonald's coffee with "f***ing pig" writte

Liberal logic on display:

Cop does stupid thing = "All cops R ******!!!!" :2mad:

:hm

I guarantee everyone of these anti cop thugs has a criminal record.

Re: Police officer "fabricated" story about being served McDonald's coffee with "f***ing pig" writte

What more evidence did he need, an officer of the law, comes to him and says, this was written on my cup SHOWS HIM THE DAMN PICTURE OF THE CUP....and you guys want to ostracize the police chief for supporting his officer...

You guys have never been a part of any kind of team, have you?

He did things EXACTLY right, he stood by his officer until more facts came out, and then he proceeded correctly,

Think about the message he sends if an officer comes to him with that and he says, no, **** off, you are lying.....just imagine what would happen then?

Just imagine what would have happened if he'd told the officer he'd be contacting the restaurant and be sure the person responsible was terminated. Then the fact it never happened was revealed. Outcome would be no bad business for the restaurant and the chief wouldn't have been made a fool on Facebook by his lying officer.

Re: Police officer "fabricated" story about being served McDonald's coffee with "f***ing pig" writte

So if the chief of police came to the officer's house after the officer shot their spouse and claims they didn't do it, they chief should also stand by until further facts came to light?

There's a reason body cams are now an essential tool for many Dept's. When 99% is decent it only takes the 1% to throw that in the gutter. I wonder if the chief would make the same decision if another officer approached with a similar story?

Re: Police officer "fabricated" story about being served McDonald's coffee with "f***ing pig" writte

Maybe society as a whole shouldn't condemn all cops for the actions of a few?

Course...in your view, he's guilty so he has to prove his innocence

Yet the chief wrongly painted the entire restaurant and its employees as anti cop because his officer lied.

Just imagine how easy it will be for a defense attorney to destroy this officer's testimony in future cases...

Re: Police officer "fabricated" story about being served McDonald's coffee with "f***ing pig" writte

Good point. Abuse by any individual member of a group obviously justifies a low opinion of all members of that group.

I try to show that not all liberals are up in arms over a story about an attention-craving cop writing a slur on his McDonalds coffee cup (was Dunkin' not open? Seriously?) and you respond with something that doesn't even really make sense. The thread is about the actions of police officers. Should I have condemned #metoo while I was at it? You're really pushing the "new year, new you" idea.

I appear to have mistaken you, then. My understanding of your post was:

A) a cop killed someone within a few miles of me
B) so **** em.

Re: Police officer "fabricated" story about being served McDonald's coffee with "f***ing pig" writte

Not surprising that someone calling themselves NeverTrump feels that the police are '****ty people'

Was this a ****ty thing to do? Also have cops done ****ty things?

Absolutely he did...and then he walked it back publicly, fired the officer, and went on about his business,

Tell me again what the issue is?

Not very...the officer was fired....or did you miss that?

Re: Police officer "fabricated" story about being served McDonald's coffee with "f***ing pig" writte

Absolutely, it's called innocent until proven guilty in that case, but there are other things that would happen, he would be put on desk duty, and or suspended while investigation pending etc....

Doesn’t the establishment deserve the same innocent until proven guilty treatment?

Yep, and in the chief's mind, they were PROVEN GUILTY, by the officer's testimony and the cup showing what was written on it.....

On the uncorroborated say so of new cop with a few months on the job? Then the chief is a moron. It would have taken 5 minutes to verify the officer’s story and get the restaurants take on the situation. Instead he defamed the business on social media.

You're right, the message he should have sent...the one you are asking him to send is....tell me about something ****ty happening to you, and I will grill you and make you the defendant.....that's ****ing genius right there...

Did I say grill him or call the restaurant and get their side before making an ass out of himself, his department and his profession.

Getting the other side of the story before doing something isn’t rocket science.

Nope, he made the nation aware that he fired a cop that shouldn't have been a cop and he fired him 2 months in...I guess you think that's a bad thing...

After he rushed to Facebook to defame the restaurant and they came back with video proving his officer was a liar.

Yep, and appropriate action was taken.....and you seem to have a problem with that...
