[W:430]Senate removes phrase 'white nationalist' from measure meant to screen military enlistees

Re: Senate removes phrase 'white nationalist' from measure meant to screen military enlistees

There is nothing wrong with changing things up. Those little buggers we make are expensive and quite frankly not yet ready for prime time.

Low-tech solutions are just fine when the situation calls for them. Also, if you whack the silly bastards for real, they can't really learn, can they?

And when someone who ascribes to these same beliefs as yourself, decides to "help you learn" then what?

Then I guess I better have a bigger brick than the other guy.

That's a rather idiotic way of looking at the world IMO.

Are you even paying attention? That IS the world right now. By the end of this year, dudes will be gun fighting over who had dibs on shooting up the local school.

Hyperbole has never helped you before. It's not going to help now.

What hyperbole? I was being dead serious. Everything can get worse.

The possibly for things getting worse remains, but one should not just jump off into lunacy for enjoyment sake.

This just isn't going to be your century, dude.

I got past the first half just fine. Nothing seems to be going wrong with the second.

So you are in fact okay with no-bull**** Nazis tormenting Jews.

Exorcising their first amendment rights, yes. But the moment they break he law, they can rightly get ****ed like the rest.

Then again, I haven't seen an actual Nazi in this lifetime.

So, hand the initiative over to them and hope they play nice.

At this point, it would be far more civil than you having the initiative.

Re: Senate removes phrase 'white nationalist' from measure meant to screen military enlistees

And you think that anyone who was even vaguely familiar with how the military works would NOT have known that?

Considering the fact you asked what would happen if a racist disrespected his commanding officer under the guise of free speech I had to wonder.

Re: Senate removes phrase 'white nationalist' from measure meant to screen military enlistees

No, I mean we as in everyone who isn't falsely just throwing assumption around. Because it serves our narrow minded agenda.

It appears that you are excluding in excess of 50% of the US population and in excess of 98% of all Senators/Representatives from your definition of "we".

If you want to act like nothing is happening, fine. Then that's your prerogative.

I much prefer to act like what is actually happening is what is actually happening rather than pretending that what I would like to believe is happening is actually happening.

I do realize that there are those who do not subscribe to that philosophy.

So, Nazism is just a "difference of opinion."

Absolutely. The Nazis were of the opinion that all the Jews should be killed - the Jews were of the opinion that all the Jews should not be killed.

Can't you see how those two opinions differ?

The "White Supremacists" are of the opinion that anyone who is "not White" IS NOT a human being and SHOULD NOT be accorded the same rights as human beings - those who are "not White" are of the opinion that anyone who is "not White" IS a human being and SHOULD be accorded the same rights as human beings.

Can't you see how those two opinions differ?

This must be that "moral relativism" you guys bitched about all through the 1990s.

Actually it isn't. There is absolutely nothing "relative" about the opinions of the Nazis and the "White Supremacists", they are "MORALLY CERTAIN" that their beliefs are not only "true and correct" but that their beliefs are NOT merely beliefs but are actually facts.

Reminds me of the old tale about answer that the mule trainer who was famed, far and wide, for his kindness and patience when training mules gave when asked why he carried a 6' length of 2x4 to his mule training sessions.

By "actual Nazi" I presume that you are referring to "persons who were members of the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei prior to its dissolution in 1945. If so you are very probably correct.

On the other hand, that would mean that you probably haven't met any real Communists either since the actual demise of Marxism/Leninism occurred shortly after Comrade Lenin died in 1924.

That much cognitive dissonance must be exhausting.

Then you can stay in your little fantasy for all I care.

I haven't met anyone who's referred to themselves as a communist, since I was in college.

I doubt you actually understand the use of such a term at this point.

Okay.

The last time I even remotely looked at someone who resembled a real Nazi. He was dressed all in black beating a Jewish man over the head with his flag pole, which ironically had a flag that said "No Hate", shouting some pretty nasty expletives in the process.

At this point the best premise we can get for Nazis in the US are the red shirts and brown shirts fighting in the streets, like back in the 40s.
